I could not hear everything that was going on in the room as I stood outside the door waiting for Alex to have a moment of conversation with Cassie, but I knew that they had a long talk, and whatever it is they discussed, I needed him to report directly to me.
When I walked in, I noticed the strange reaction from Alex and Cassie, and I did not need anyone to tell me that they were keeping something away.
"Should I go ahead with the treatments, or would you like me to head out with you right away?" he asked me.
"Go ahead with the treatment, and then you can meet me in the study; Taylor will guide you. "Make sure you're careful with her," I said to him, and even though the last part of that statement was not necessary, I needed to remind him of whom he was dealing with.
I walked out of the room again, and Taylor followed me from the door down to our main living room. My study was not far from the living room.
"Bring him to my study once he's out here," I said to Taylor, who bowed his head in agreement as I walked away from the living room towards my study.
I could not tell why, but I just could not stop thinking about what conversation Alex had had with Cassie in that living room. A part of me felt troubled, and as I walked into the study, I kept pacing the whole time until I heard a knock on the door.
I let out a sigh of relief and walked steadily towards the door. I opened it, but to my surprise, it was not Alex. I saw Vanessa standing right outside the door, and Taylor was following behind her.
"What is this?" I asked, staring at Taylor. I need a thing to give me an explanation because for no reason we have allowed the missing to come in the direction of the mansion.
"I'm sorry, sir. I tried to stop her, but she wouldn't listen," he said to me.
"Is that supposed to be an excuse?" I asked him before slowly turning my gate back to Vanessa, who was standing so close to the door as if there was any chance I was going to let her in.
"What are you doing here? "If you keep acting this way, Vanessa, I'm going to push you away completely, and you know I can do that," I said to her, staring at her face.
"I did not just come randomly, Donald. I know that is what you are thinking about right now. I really need to speak to you; it's an urgent matter. I need your help, believe me. You are the only one who can help me right now, and I cannot go to anyone else, so please do not throw me out again this time." she said to me as she all of a sudden began to sob.
I hated it when she acted that way. I could put up with all of her tantrums but not this one.
"Go ahead and tell me what's going on; you do not have a lot of time, so I'll advise you to begin now." I said to her as I stepped out of the door, completely closing this slowly behind myself as we stood right in front of it.
There was no way I was going to let Vanessa into my study; no one came into my study without permission.
"Can you tell him to give us a moment? I really do not want anyone else knowing about this," she said, glancing at Taylor and then back to me.
I let out a sigh of frustration. If there was one person that enjoyed my presence without merit, it was her, and each time, I always regret it.
"Give us a moment," I said to Taylor, who nodded his head in agreement and walked away.
"I swear to the goddess Vanessa, if this is not as important as you claim, I'm going to make you pay for wasting my time." I said to her immediately after Taylor walked away.
"You really think I am going to waste your time, Donald? I am in a situation that could cost me my life, and the only person that I can think of who can help me is you, but each time I try coming to you to report, you won't let me, and you will not even take any of my calls or reply to my text messages," she lamented, and that was not what I wanted to hear.
"Go to the point, Venessa. Remember you have limited time," I said to her in a calm voice, staring at her steadily.
"Something happened with someone who I was in the business partnership with, and right now I am in debt. "Believe me, Donald, I thought I could fix this on my own, but it's causing significant damage to my business, and if I take any more, I'm going to be losing everything. Please, I need your help," she said to me.
This was not the first time she was telling me about owing someone in business, and the last time I gave it to her for free, but this time would be different.
"You do not expect me to just give you some money to support your business, do you? Because you know I have no business doing charity," I said to her.
"Fine, give me the terms," she replied.
"I'll loan you the amount, and you'll pay it back with interest," I said to her.
"With interest!" She exclaimed.
I was about to respond to her when I heard Alex's voice.
"I'm done with her, sir," he said, standing behind me.
"I'll speak with you in a minute," I said to him before turning to Venessa. "Let's wrap this up. Do we have a deal?" I asked her.
"Why is Doctor Alex here? And who is she?" She asked, staring at me with confusion and what seemed like surprise.
