Chapter 3 - Orion

The door to the room opened, revealing a young lady with similar silver hair and eyes as the man. As soon as she entered, she couldn't help but succumb to the pressure being exerted by the woman. The silver-haired man simply glanced at her before she scoffed and retracted her pressure.

''I'm sorry to intrude, my lords''

'' Don't fret, Lyra, it must be very important for you to interrupt our meeting. What's wrong?'' the silver-haired man addressed her.

She looked around, hesitating whether to reveal such news publicly, she couldn't whisper to her patriarch, she knew the extent of the prowess of the people in this room.

Erevan looked her straight in the eyes; he could tell she was hesitant to reveal what was on her mind in the midst of everyone here.

''It seems I'll have to excuse myself, please don't mind me and continue the meeting, I'll have to agree to whatever conclusion you all come to later''

He locked eyes with Lyra before vanishing from the room.

Lyra found herself standing in the sky alongside Erevan, her eyes widened in surprise. It only took one glance at Erevan for her to regain her composure; she quickly got on her knees to pay respect to her patriarch.

''My lord, the lady AURORA has put to bed successfully, the news came through the transmission earlier.''

She looked up and saw something she never believed was possible, her lord, who she had never seen change his expression, was smiling like a kid who had just handed a hundred jars of candy. She couldn't believe her eyes.

''A boy or girl ?'' Erevan quickly asked.

''A boy my lord'' She responded.

''Wonderful, my house has finally gotten its heir, Aurora has done well, I believe she knows what to name him.''

Erevan was grinning from ear to ear; he couldn't hide his excitement.

As he turned to the fortress below, the grin he had on his face quickly changed to a frown, evident of his displeasure.

''It seems I won't be able to carry my child as a baby, it'll be a year before I can officially return home''

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

He turned to Lyra, his face quickly changing to its usual stoicism

''This changes nothing for now, we'll continue as we have for the remaining year we have in this hellhole''

''Yes my lord '' Lyra quickly replied.

FOUR MONTHS LATER

''Young master Orion!!! Young master Orion!!!''

A maid was running around, opening door after door in search of her notorious young master.

She opened the door to an opulent, decorated bedroom.

''My lady, I can't find the young master anywhere!!''

The maid was panting with her hands on her knees, evidence of the ordeal she'd been through while searching for her evasive young master.

''Haha, ''Aurora chuckled

''Relax, Isolde, he's probably in the library again, I'm sure Lyrielle managed to sneak him in somehow, those two are getting more mischievous by the day, especially Orion. I wonder what goes through that child's head even at such a young age. Sorry, Isolde, if you find them at the library, can you bring Orion back? It's time for his meal, I'll have to forcefully breastfeed him again" she sighed.

She'd never heard of a child who disliked being breastfed. Still, what could she do? He was her child, and she loved him very much despite his weird traits.

''Of course, my lady, I'll check the library right away,'' Isolde replied.

Meanwhile…

''Orion, what book are you reading ?''

Lyrielle was four years and a few months of age with silver hair like that of her father, already showing the beauty that ran through her mother's blood, and was looking at her four-month-old brother reading a book she herself couldn't fully comprehend.

''Can you even understand what's written there ?, or are you just staring at the letters?"

She didn't want to believe he could read such a book, but something about the focus in his eyes said otherwise. She was playing with him when she saw him lifting a book, showing it to her, and for some reason, she could understand what he was asking for. She could never fully comprehend her brother; she didn't understand what was so enjoyable about reading a book.

"We should leave soon, or Isolde is going to find us."

Orion quickly removed his face from the book and looked outside to see the sun already setting. He knew what time of the day it was, and he was reluctant to go back and be breastfed. He sighed and turned back to the book he's been reading to get as much as possible before being found.

'It's been four months since I got to this world, at least from what I've been hearing. My sense of time really has been distorted from sleeping so much. I haven't seen that blue panel again since then. I'm sure it's the reason I'm here. I wonder how my family is doing over there. I must have died over there.'

Sometimes he still couldn't believe it, he really is from another world, he'd seen too much not to believe it already, the customs, food, practices, and most especially the presence of the most astonishing thing in this world, 'MAGIC', almost everything here was different from his old world.

Though he wasn't an avid novel reader, he had watched some isekai anime and heard enough from his friends not to understand the concept of reincarnation, but this couldn't be called reincarnation.

He hadn't died, at least he didn't remember dying, and he was sure death was a prerequisite for reincarnation.

No, this was something different; he'd been tempted to call it transmigration, but even that term couldn't fully explain this phenomenon, as he was currently a baby and no longer a young adult.

For now, he knew that his situation was linked to that panel; he remembered what he'd read from the panel. Anyway there was nothing he could do but adapt to his current situation and adapt he had, he had been using the free time he was wake and free to read books about this world thankfully he could understand the language, he never understood how that worked but that was merely a drop in an ocean of things he couldn't understand, scientifically his brain isn't even supposed to understand a quarter of the things he could process and comprehend.

The door suddenly opened, and Lyrielle froze like a deer in headlights.

"Young master Orion and Lady Lyrielle, I've searched all over for you. How could you do this to me? I was worried, you know," Isolde quickly said while panting.

"Sorry, Isolde, Orion seemed like he was really enjoying his book, and we lost track of time."

Isolde quickly picked up Orion, who was reluctant to part from the book he was reading.

''The lady calls for you both, " Isolde sighed

Orion quickly frowned as best he could and tried to get out of Isolde's arms, knowing why his mother was requesting him.

" You are definitely not getting out of being breastfed this time, young master," Isolde said while gripping Orion tighter, knowing his reason for struggling.

Orion simply stopped knowing it was pointless to struggle any further; he'd just embrace the shame that came from being breastfed.

"I understand, Orion, but why am I being called?" Lyrielle asked.

"I have no idea, Lady Lyrielle," Isolde responded.

"Alright, let's go."

They found their way to Aurora's room and knocked

"Enter!"

"My babies, how was your little adventure? You've certainly put Isolde through her fair share of struggles, sorry again, Isolde."

"Not at all, my lady, " Isolde quickly bowed before passing Orion over to Aurora.

Aurora could read the displeasure presently on Orion's face; she didn't know what to do with this child.

"You're getting breastfed again, Orion, whether you like it or not," Aurora quickly announced while looking Orion straight in the eye.

Orion simply frowned but didn't struggle, surprising Aurora.

"Mother, Orion was reading that big black book again, " Lyrielle announced, trying to show her presence while Orion was already getting breastfed.

"Is that so? He really seems to like that book," Aurora said while putting a finger on her chin.

Knock Knock Knock

"Who is that? " Aurora quickly asked

"It's Genevieve, my lady," A young maid's voice sounded from outside.

"It's Sir Edward, he said he has something to report, my lady," The maid quickly stated.

"My lady is busy presently," Isolde responded

"Very well, I will inform him," The maid replied, walking off.

Once she saw that Orion was satisfied, Aurora swiftly tidied up her clothing and went out of the room.

'It must be quite hard to handle every affair of such a large mansion,' Orion thought.

'Mehhh, she's going to be fine'

Orion lay on the bed with his eyes closed. If someone were to look at him, they'd think he was a baby taking his nap, but a million things were currently going through Orion's head.

In his past life, Orion had been a model student, set to graduate with accolades and with a fulfilling future ahead of him; he had everything planned out, all that remained was to live it out.

Who knew fate had different plans for him? He had always set goals for himself to accomplish; he believed those without goals and the will to accomplish those goals were simply wasting their lives, yet he now finds himself among them.

'Where am I going in this world, what exactly do I want to accomplish?'
