Chapter 1 - Anything

"Grandma please please stay with me please! I beg you, I'll do anything for you to get better okay?" Isabella said as her once angelic face was now lifeless and as red as tomatoes.

She just felt miserable watching her once healthy grandma fading away. It hurts her so badly and she could do nothing about it but she was now determined to do what it takes.

Life has been hard for her and her grandma, living with shame of poverty and mocked by many people all around the neighborhood.

She wanted to change that. They were poor to the extent that some neighbors offered her to go and work as a prostitute or hook-up with rich men even if it's just for a night or two. But Isabella refused to do that and now she greatly regretted why she didn't accept the offer.

She was a human and so was her grandma. She had tried hard to survive as her grandma was extremely old.

However she couldn't find a well-good-paying job.

Her grandma's sickness has gotten worse and what was worse was the doctors couldn't find the illness.

"Doctor, doctor! Will she be okay? D-doctor please do something! Y-you're a doctor right… you should know what to do right? Please don't let my grandma die p-please!"

She pleaded and at the moment that is what she could do. Nothing more.

"Miss, I can't assure you she will be able to make it and you've barely given us any money. If you provide better money maybe we can consider doing more further research on her illness. For now I suggest you go look for money else, we won't let her stay here any longer," the doctor informed as he turned to leave.

"Please! Wait, no!" Ella was so so devastated at the moment. She hates it that she could do nothing about this situation. She loved her grandma so much and she can't possibly let her die like that! She needs to do something now! This was not the time to cry, this was the time to be strong. With that thought she left the hospital and her full concentration was how she could get money for her grandma's treatment.

Her grandma already told her not to bother that she isn't going to make it but of course Ella won't accept it one bit.

She walked on the road as if she was sleepwalking and her full attention was somewhere else. She didn't even look at people's faces and just took larger strides forward and further.

When she reached her neighborhood she went straight to her friend Anne, the one who advised her to do prostitution and hook-up.

Anne was a werewolf living alone with her little kid brother. She had helped Ella all she could and even told her to engage in prostitution just like how the other neighbors did. Ella now thought that that was the only way to break free from this.

She had sold all she had and now the only thing that was just left untouched was her, her body.

What is she even protecting useless virginity for if her only family is dying? She needs to do something and she couldn't just watch her grandma die just like that.

She reached Anne's apartment and without hesitation she knocked on the door which someone opened right away.

"Ella?" A little boy about seven stepped into view with his little hazel eyes as he stared at Ella who held a serious expression on her angelic face.

"Hey, where is your sister?"

"Joe! Haven't I told you not to open the door for strangers? What is wrong with you even?"

"It's aunt Ella, sis, yay come see," the little boy giggled as he pulled Ella by the hand letting her in and shut the door.

Anne was sitting on the couch as she stared at the book in her hand that seemed to be taking all her attention.

"Wow amazing," she gasped as she sipped her milkshake in her hand.

"Hey Anne, I need help! My grandma please!" Ella burst out but Anne didn't look up, only her brows knitted together.

She didn't know why Ella was just wasting her time when it's obvious the woman would die anyway. She didn't want to say anything to upset her friend.

"Anne please I'm serious!"

"Hmm you always are," Anne replied still staring at her book. She loves reading books very much and so does Ella. But it's been a while since Ella read any book as she was too focused with her grandma.

"Please the doctors said they'll discharge her tomorrow if I don't give any money," she added and Anne finally lifted her head and looked up to find her friend crying.

"Wait, you're not kidding?"

"I'm not! I need your help please."

"What can I help about? I don't have any money as well. And I'm also going through a lot you know that right?" She walked towards Ella and hugged her and Ella also hugged her back.

"I'm so sorry I can't help." She pulled away staring at Ella and Ella stared back at her friend.

"Ella, the king called me yesterday and he said he is going to give me to an alpha, and I'm doomed and it's so frustrating. I have no other choice as well so I wanted you to look after my brother. I have no other friend," she explained how the werewolf king wants to marry her to a mate she knows nothing about.

Ella hugged her as the both of them cried.

Joe was also a werewolf of just seven years and Ella knows that no matter how tough the situation is her friend will surely leave the boy to her care.

"Why don't you take him along with you? He will suffer if he stays here. Maybe you should put him into the werewolf academy or something."

"He's too young!"

"Anne I know but we have no other choice here," and then Ella turned and looked at the young Joe who just stared back at the both of them. He was just so cute for him to suffer like this.

Knock knock!

Someone knocked and then the door pushed open. A boy of about twenty-four years old stepped in, he was also their friend but he was a vampire.

"Hey guys, I heard you too and I think I know someone who might help you Ella, but of course you need to sacrifice something."

"Anything," Ella replied as her mood brightened up. She has nothing to lose and just hearing a glimpse of hope. This was her only hope and she isn't going to let the opportunity pass her by.
