Everyone walked into the theater and took their seats. Trixter walked on stage and prepared to give a speech.
"At the end of Iron Man, you all learned of the existence of other heroes in the world. This next film will introduce you to one of those heroes." Trixter began.
"All right! Another hero!" Kirishima said.
"Iron Man was pretty cool. I wonder what this hero will be like." Uraraka said.
Trixter chuckled. "Oh, this hero is an interesting one to say the least. The hero you'll all be seeing this time is known as The Incredible Hulk." Trixter said as the name appeared on the screen behind him.
Izuku wrote down the name.
"He must be big." Thirteen said.
"Before we begin, I'd like to ask you all something. How much control does your Quirk have over your life?" Trixter asked.
The audience was confused.
"I think a lot of you don't realize how much your life is dictated by the Quirk you're born with. What if you were Quirkless? Would you still try to become heroes?" Trixter asked.
No one said anything but they all knew the answer. No. Of course not. It's impossible.
"Or what about Shigaraki's Quirk? Everything he touches turns to ash. Do you believe someone like that could be a hero?" Trixter asked.
Again, no one responded.
"In the end, your Quirk decides your place in society. So, I ask you, what happens to a person with a Quirk that makes them hurt everyone they come in contact with?" Trixter asked.
This got the attention of Eri, who had been playing with her new toy until now.
"The hero you're about to see is one with a dangerously uncontrollable power. You will see how such a power affects their life and their place in society." Trixter explained. "But more importantly, you'll see them refuse to accept their fate. You'll see them fight to regain control of their life. Prepare to witness the tale of one of this world's most incredible heroes."
With those final words, Trixter made their way to their seat and the film began.
The scene began in a lab where a experiment was about to take place. A man (Bruce Banner) was sitting in a chair while a woman (Betty) watched from the other room.
(0:00:00 - 0:01:10)
"What's going on?" Sero asked.
"If I had to guess, I'd say they're performing some sort of experiment." Momo said.
"You'd be right." Trixter said.
As the experiment commenced, the Gamma Ray Projector moved in front of Banner; shining a beam of Gamma Radiation into his eyes. Suddenly, something seemed to go wrong and the back of a large creature (Hulk) was shown.
(0:01:10 - 0:01:23)
"Huh?! What's happening?!" Uraraka asked.
"Something definitely went wrong." Power Loader said.
"What is that thing?" Ojiro asked.
"Is that... The Hulk?" Inko asked.
The scene then showed flashes of Hulk's perspective. He looked at the people in the other room. Betty and someone else seemed to be trying to figure out what had happened while a soldier behind them shot at Hulk.
The screen flashed and showed Betty lying on the ground, injured. Hulk tried to reach out to her before being shot at by another soldier. There was a man (Ross) standing next to the soldier.
Hulk approached them both and threw Ross to the side before punching the soldier threw the door. Ross, now injured and covered in blood, crawled over to Betty before turning to Hulk and holding his hand up as if he was pleading for mercy.
The roar of Hulk could be heard as he left the area.
(0:01:23 - 0:01:40)
"Oh my goodness..." Midnight said.
"I hope those people are okay..." Thirteen said.
The next scene showed Betty in a hospital bed. Banner had come to check on her.
(0:01:40 - 0:01:48)
"At least that girl is okay." Tsu said.
Ross then showed up and began forcing Banner out of the room. Banner left the hospital as Ross sent a soldier after him.
(0:01:48 - 0:02:00)
"That old guy seems pretty upset." Kaminari said.
"That's General Ross." Trixter said. "Also the guy is Bruce Banner and the girl is Betty, Bruce's Girlfriend."
Izuku noted the names.
"I can see why Ross would be upset, after what Banner did." Recovery Girl said.
"Huh? What did he do?" Toru asked.
"That giant monster from before was likely Banner. We may have gotten a glimpse of his Quirk." Nighteye said.
"If that's the case then... he's the one who attacked those people?" Kirishima asked.
The audience wondered if that's the case. Why would Banner attack those people?
The scene then cut to a bunch of newspaper covers of various incidents. The incident at the Culver University Laboratory. Green monster sightings. Images of destroyed cars, houses, and buildings.
(0:02:00 - 0:02:12)
The audience struggled to keep up with all the information being thrown at them.
"It looks like the monster is still going around causing damage." Endeavor said.
"Someone needs to stop it." All Might said.
As the scene continued, Ross was shown seemingly thinking about the information being gathered. Soldiers were shown raiding a site. A report of the raid was shown, saying that the subject evaded capture and laboratory equipment was found on site.
(0:02:12 - 0:02:18)
"It looks like Ross and the military are hunting Banner down." Kurogiri said.
That statement made everyone come to a realization.
"Wait. So he's a fugitive?" Mina asked.
"Yes. Yes he is." Trixter said.
The audience didn't know what to think. Banner seemed to have a Quirk which means he must be the hero Trixter talked about. But if he's a fugitive then that means he's a villain, right?
The idea that the hero of this film is a fugitive peaked the interest of the villains. This was already an interesting situation for a hero to be in.
The scene continued. A request from the military to Stark Industries for a new weapon was shown. The weapon was a Sonic Cannon.
(0:02:18 - 0:02:36)
"Stark Industries." Izuku said. "So the military asked for a new weapon to help them deal with Banner."
"Seeing as how it was approved, I suppose that means the request was made before the events of Iron Man." Gentle said.
"That baby looks pretty interesting. I wonder what it does." Mei said.
The scene continued and a document from Nick Fury was shown. The document states that Banner is threat level red and authorizes surveillance only.
(0:02:36 - 0:02:46)
"Even SHIELD is involved in this manhunt." Dabi said.
"Threat level red, surveillance only. Banner must be extremely dangerous if SHIELD isn't even attempting to capture him." Iida said.
"We could be looking at a potentially high-rank villain." Todoroki said.
The scene continued, showing pictures of Banner and a list of known associates. Then a paper saying that Banner hasn't been spotted in 5 months was shown.
(0:02:46 - 0:02:55)
"They haven't been able to find him for 5 months?" Jiro questioned.
"That's pretty impressive considering the military is after him." Compress said.
"He must have found a good place to hide." Spinner said.
The scene then continued, showing flashes of the incident in the lab and a metronome ticking away. This continued until Banner suddenly stopped the metronome. As he sat there, breathing heavily, some text appeared on the screen.
'DAYS WITHOUT INCIDENT: 158'
(0:02:55 - 0:03:15)
"Days without incident?" Kirishima questioned.
"It must be referring to his Quirk." Shoji said.
"So it's been 5 months since he's used his Quirk? I guess that explains why Ross hasn't been able to find him." Mic said.
The scene changed to show the town Banner was in. Some text appeared.
'ROCINHA FAVELA - BRAZIL'
The scene cut back to Banner, who was now cooking some food while his dog (Ricky) watched him.
Banner then sat down in front of a TV and began flipping through channels. He stopped on a channel showing Sesame Street, where Grover was speaking Portuguese.
As Banner watched TV and ate his food, he flipped through a book, attempting to practice his Portuguese.
(0:03:15 - 0:04:50)
"Sesame Street!" Mina said.
"I used to watch that when I was a kid." Uraraka said.
"What the heck is Sesame Street?" Kaminari asked.
"It's a really old children's show." Momo said.
"So he's using a children show to learn another language?" Shigiraki questioned.
"It helps more than you'd think." Mic said.
The scene changed to Banner taking Aikido lessons.
(0:04:50 - 0:04:58)
The heroes were somewhat concerned by this scene. This scene implied that Banner was preparing himself to fight if he has to. It was bad enough that he'd be willing to fight the military, the government. But this made the Pro Heroes wonder how far Banner would go if he did have to fight. Would he use his Quirk and kill any soldiers sent after him. Considering the fact that he's a villain, it wouldn't be that surprising.
"So he studies martial arts." Izuku noted.
"More specifically, Aikido." Trixter said. "Aikido is a form of martial arts designed to allow the user to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury."
That was interesting. Banner had chosen a form of martial arts that would allow him to avoid seriously harming his opponent. It was an... odd choice for a villain, but the heroes were glad to know that Banner wasn't completely ruthless.
Izuku noted the information, finding it interesting that Banner had chosen to learn a rather harmless form of martial arts.
"Smart. Stupid. He's prepared to defend himself. He wouldn't last ten seconds in a fight." Twice said.
The scene cuts to Banner doing breathing exercises while his trainer instructs him on controlling his emotions.
"The best way to control your anger is to control your body." The trainer said.
The trainer then slapped Banner, causing their heart rate to increase. Banner practiced his breathing to control his heart rate. The trainer slapped Banner again. Banner then told the trainer to wait as he used the breathing technique to stabilize his heart rate.
(0:04:58 - 0:05:50)
"Whatever Banner's Quirk is, it must have something to do with his emotions." Izuku noted.
"More specifically, his heart rate." Aizawa said. "I assume his Quirk will probably activate if his heart rate gets to high."
The scene changed to Banner in a locker room with a bunch of other people as they all got ready for work. As he is putting on his uniform, some guy (I'll just call him Bully from now on) walks by and intentionally bumps into him.
(0:05:50 - 0:06:13)
"Jeez. Could've at least said excuse me." Mina said.
"Honestly, why do some people have to be such jerks." La Brava said.
The scene changed to the inside of a soft drink factory. Banner was seen working. He delivered a box to a girl (Martina), who thanked him.
(0:06:13 - 0:06:36)
"He's even managed to pick up some work." Thirteen said.
"Well he has to survive somehow." Nighteye said.
Banner's boss then called him upstairs to fix one of the broken machines. After fixing it, Banner explains what the problem was and how the boss can fix it.
The boss then states that Banner is to smart to be working day labor and asks to put him on payroll.
(0:06:36 - 0:07:20)
"Can't do that unless he wants to be found." Kurogiri said.
Already, the audience was seeing Banner's status as a fugitive affecting his life. He couldn't work as an actual employee and has to resort to day labor for money.
Banner accidentally cut his finger on the machine and a drop of his blood was shown falling down onto the assembly line of drinks.
(0:07:20 - 0:07:29)
Himiko smiled at the drop of blood. While it was only a drop, the camera being zoomed into it made it look like more blood than it actually was.
Banner suddenly panicked and told his boss to turn off the machine while he ran after the drop of blood.
(0:07:29 - 0:07:33)
"It's just a drop of blood. What's he so scared of?" Kota asked.
"Maybe it has something to do with his Quirk." Melissa said.
Banner ran through the factory, making his way down stairs. The boss told one of the workers to turn of the machine.
Once Banner made it down to the assembly line, he began searching the area. He found the drop of blood in between some of the bottles and on the conveyor belt. He wiped off the blood and told his boss that it was fine now. However, as he walked away, the camera revealed that one of the bottles still had his blood in it.
(0:07:33 - 0:08:22)
"Oh no. He didn't get all the blood." Sero said.
"Hopefully someone else spots it." Todoroki said.
The bottle made it's way through the assembly line and ended up being packaged without anyone noticing the blood.
(0:08:22 - 0:08:43)
"Looks like someone's in for a surprise." Toga giggled.
"Hopefully that drop of blood isn't as dangerous as Banner made it out to be." Midnight said.
The audience was pretty concerned though. Why did Banner think it was so dangerous?
The scene changed to the later end the day. The workers were now leaving.
As Banner was leaving, he noticed Martina being bothered by Bully. She looked at Banner, as if she was asking for help. Banner hesitated for a moment before walking away.
(0:08:43 - 0:09:00)
The audience was disappointed that Banner didn't even try to help Martina. Although they figured he wouldn't.
"Come on dude. Leave the girl alone. She obviously doesn't want to be bothered by you." Kirishima said.
"Some guy's just can't take a hint." Mineta shook his head.
Trixter rolled his eyes.
Suddenly, Banner came back. He approached Martina and asked her out to lunch, offering her a way out of the situation.
(0:09:00 - 0:09:14)
The audience was surprised that Banner had actually come back and attempted to help Martina. The act itself wasn't anything crazy but they found it odd that he went out of his way to help her. What does he gain from doing this?
Bully told Banner to get lost but Banner refused to back down.
"You got a problem?" Bully asked threateningly.
"No problem." Banner attempted to defuse the situation.
"Too late." Bully pushed Banner.
(0:09:14 - 0:09:27)
"Come on! Kick that jerks ass!" Bakugo yelled.
"You're the last person I want to hear call that guy jerk, Bakugo." Trixter said in an unusually serious tone.
"The hell's that supposed to mean?"
"I think you know exactly what it means. Perhaps Midoriya would care to explain."
Midoriya just looked at the two nervously.
Bakugo glared at Midoriya and Trixter before turning back to the screen. He knew where this conversation was heading and would rather not continue it.
The audience had confused expressions. What was that all about?
"Don't make me... Hungry." Banner said in Portuguese. "You wouldn't like me when I'm... Hungry."
Bully just looked at Banner with a confused expression.
(0:09:27 - 0:09:34)
"What?" Sato questioned.
"I believe he meant angry." Tokoyami said. "You're not you when you're hungry." Dark shadow said.
"Seems he still needs to practice his language skills more." Compress said.
"Oh, that's not right." Banner said, realizing he messed up the translation.
Bully then tried to attack Banner before the boss spotted them and stopped the fight from breaking out.
Banner used the opportunity to leave with Martina.
(0:09:34 - 0:09:44)
The audience was glad that Banner had successfully helped Martina without getting into a fight. One person in particular found this scene very interesting.
Stain was surprised when Banner came back to help Martina. Banner didn't need to get involved in that situation. He could've very easily just looked the other way as so many would. But even though he had attempted to ignore the situation at first, he came back. Why? Was he unable to ignore a person in need? In that moment Stain saw a spark in Banner. It was the spark of a true hero. He hadn't seen enough to call Banner a true hero. In fact, Banner isn't even a hero at all yet. But this one instance showed that Banner does have potential. Stain would watch closely to see how that heroic spark develops.
The scene changed to Banner walking through the town before stopping to talk to a delivery man. The man handed Banner a package and Banner was incredibly grateful.
(0:09:44 - 0:10:03)
"That package must be quite important to him." Aoyama said.
"I wonder what it is." Ojiro said.
Banner is then shown jogging through the city before making it home. He shows the package to his Ricky, saying that it's his ticket out of their.
(0:10:03 - 0:10:16)
"His ticket out of here?" Jiro questioned.
"Perhaps it'll help with his Quirk." Mei said.
Banner began setting up his computer and a satellite dish for connection. He also brought out a newspaper clipping of Betty. He began messaging someone on the computer.
Mr. Green: Blue, are you there?
Mr. Blue: Mr. Green! Good hearing from you again, my mysterious friend!
Mr. Green: I've found it.
Mr. Blue: At long last. It's a lovely flower, isn't it?
Banner then analyzed the flower that was in the package.
Mr. Blue: Be sure to try a high dose. Good luck.
(0:10:16 - 0:10:54)
The audience was curious as to who Mr. Blue was but as the conversation continued, it became more clear.
"It seems this Mr. Blue is attempting to help Banner with his predicament." Nezu said.
The Pro Heroes wanted to know more about Mr. Blue. They were naturally suspicious of anyone who would align themselves with a villain.
"How is a flower supposed to help?" Shigaraki asked.
"All sorts of medicine can be made from various types of plants." Recovery Girl said.
"Wait... Medicine?" Toga questioned.
"So he's trying to... cure himself?" Uraraka asked.
"I believe so. He must be trying to get rid of his Quirk." Recovery Girl said.
That was so strange to most of the audience. Why would anyone not want a Quirk. Is Banner's Quirk really that bad?
Eri wondered why Mr. Hulk wanted to get rid of his Quirk. Earlier, Trixter mentioned people with Quirk's that caused them to hurt everyone around them. Is Mr. Hulk's Quirk like that? Is he... Like her? If Eri could get rid of her Quirk, she would. Maybe Mr. Hulk is the same.
Banner began the process of developing the serum from the flower. He had to use very old-fashioned means and equipment to develop the serum.
(0:10:54 - 0:11:23)
"He certainly is resourceful." Power Loader said.
"I'm so used to using the tech on I-Island, I don't know if I could stand using such old equipment." Melissa said.
Banner then drew a drop of his blood and put some of the serum on it before placing it under a microscope to see the results.
As he looked through the microscope, his somewhat green blood cells began to revert back to normal. For a moment it seemed like the serum had worked. Then the blood cells suddenly turned completely green and increased in size until the glass broke.
(0:11:23 - 0:11:52)
"What the heck?!" Kaminari said.
"Green blood cells? So his Quirk affects his blood." Izuku noted.
"That's why he wanted to clean it up earlier." Midnight realized.
"That's concerning." Thirteen said.
"But why did the blood cells bulk up like that?" La Brava asked.
"The antidote temporarily negated the effects of his Quirk. But in the end his Quirk just ended up activating anyway. That's what happens to his blood when his Quirk activates." Trixter said.
"So it didn't work..." Uraraka said.
The students felt a little bad for Banner. Sure he's a villain but he is trying to get rid of his apparently very dangerous Quirk. That counts for something.
Disappointed with the results, Banner messaged Mr. Blue.
Mr. Green: Another failure.
Mr. Blue: :( How much did you use?
Mr. Green: All of it.
Mr. Blue: Then it's time to meet.
Mr. Green: Not safe.
Mr. Blue: Living with GAMMA poisoning is not safe.
(0:11:52 - 0:12:16)
The support specialists in the audience as well as a few others were shocked by Mr. Blue's statement.
"GAMMA poisoning?!" Melissa said.
"Is that bad? It sounds bad." Kaminari asked.
"It's extremely bad." Power Loader said. "If you were exposed to high levels of GAMMA radiation, your cell DNA would either mutate or be destroyed. Either way would be fatal."
"And Banner has GAMMA poisoning in his blood?!" Toru asked.
"He shouldn't be alive." Recovery Girl said.
"If the GAMMA radiation is related to his Quirk, then perhaps he has some resistance to it." Izuku noted.
"That would explain how he has managed to survive." Kurogiri said. "It also explains why his blood is so dangerous."
Mr. Blue: Stop chasing flowers. Send me a blood sample.
Banner thought for a moment.
Mr. Blue: Can't help if you won't let me.
Banner looked at the newspaper clipping of Betty before making his decision. He then used a syringe to draw some of his blood, put the blood in a test tube, packaged it, and sent it to Mr. Blue.
Banner then walked out of the post office and stood there, thinking about what to do next.
(0:12:16 - 0:12:51)
"Considering the fact that his Quirk affects his blood, a blood sample would be the best way for Mr. Blue to find a cure." Recovery Girl said.
"Now he just has to wait... HURRY UP!" Twice said.
Toga giggled at Twice's antics.
Meanwhile, Eri was shaking a little. She didn't like that Mr. Hulk was sending a sample of his blood to Mr. Blue to so they could run tests on his Quirk. It reminded her of what Overhaul does to her. What's happening with Mr. Hulk isn't the same but it did bring up bad memories.
Izuku noticed Eri's discomfort. "You okay, Eri?" He asked.
Eri turned to him. "Mmhm." She said.
"You don't have to worry about Overhaul anymore, okay? You'll be safe."
Eri didn't respond and simply continued watching the film.
Izuku let out a sigh before doing the same.
The scene changed to a shot of The Pentagon. Some text appeared.
'ARLINGTON - VIRGINIA'
The scene then cut to Ross sitting at his desk.
(0:12:51 - 0:12:56)
"General Ross?" Uraraka questioned.
"I wonder what the General is up to." Aoyama said.
A woman (Kathleen Sparr) handed Ross a document of a recent incident.
"Here's something a bit more interesting." She said. "Possible GAMMA sickness. Milwaukee."
The scene changed to Stan Lee getting a drink out of the refrigerator.
(0:12:56 - 0:13:02)
"Hey, it's Stan Lee!" Sero said.
"He really is going to show up in every film huh?" Kirishima said.
"Yep. It's his thing." Trixter said.
"A man drank one of those guarana sodas. Guess it had a little more kick than he was looking for." Sparr said as the scene showed Stan getting the soda out of the fridge and drinking it.
"Wow." Stan said before suddenly dropping the soda causing the glass to break as it hit the floor.
(0:13:02 - 0:13:16)
"Oh no!" Uraraka said.
"Just a drop of Banner's blood had enough GAMMA poisoning to kill?!" Mei said.
"I didn't think there'd be cute boy who's blood I don't want to taste." Toga said.
Izuku began to sweat a little upon hearing that. Is she saying she drinks the blood of boys she finds cute?!
"Poor guy..." All Might said.
Izuku shook his head and tried to forget what Toga just said. He noted the second appearance of Stan Lee. 'Appeared as a victim of GAMMA poisoning via ingesting Bruce Banner's blood.'
Ross asked Sparr where the soda was bottled. Sparr responded that it was bottled in Porto Verde, Brazil.
"Have our people look for a white man at the bottling plant." Ross ordered. "Tell them no contact! If he even sees them, he's gone!"
(0:13:16 - 0:13:27)
"Now Ross knows where Banner is." Compress said.
"Hopefully Bruce can get away." Toga said.
She liked Bruce. He didn't seem like a bad person. She didn't want anything bad to happen to him.
"Staying out of sight is a good idea. They don't want Banner getting away again." Midnight said.
The scene changed to a military base and some text appeared.
'FORT JOHNSON - EVERGLADES'
Some soldiers could be seen in the base as well as others arriving in Humvees. A group of soldiers were arriving in two helicopters. Ross was shown standing next to another General (Joe Greller) as they awaited the arrival of the helicopters.
"I got you who I could. Short notice, but they're all quality." Greller said. "And I pulled you one ace."
The two helicopters then arrived.
"Emil Blonsky, born in Russia, raised in England, and on loan to SOCOM from the Royal Marines." Greller explained as Blonsky was shown exiting one of the helicopters.
"I know you cashed in some chips for this, Joe." Ross said.
"Glad I could help. Just make it good." Greller said.
(0:13:27 - 0:14:18)
"Emil Blonsky." Izuku said as he noted the name.
"He sounds like a very talented soldier." Nezu said.
"He is. One of the best actually." Trixter said.
"Good. Ross isn't pulling any punches. They'll need the best of the best if Banner is as dangerous as we think." Thirteen said.
"What?" Spinner questioned.
"We haven't seen what Banner's Quirk is but we can infer that it is incredibly dangerous based on the information we currently have." Nighteye said.
"So if Ross is gonna attempt to capture Banner, then he'll need to be prepared." Aizawa said.
Spinner was confused. He had always been taught that villains are evil but from what he's seen of Banner, that isn't the case. So why are the heroes already treating Banner like a monster. All they've done is tried to protect people.
The scene cut to a military transport plane taking off. The inside of the plane was shown. Sparr was debriefing the soldiers.
"This is the target and the location. Snatch and grab, live capture." Sparr explained. "You'll have dart clips and suppression ordnance, but live fire is for backup only. We got local out there, but we want it tight and quiet."
"Is he a fighter?" Blonsky asked.
Ross explained that Banner is a fugitive from the US government who stole military secrets. He adds that Banner has killed two scientists, a military officer, an Idaho state trooper, and possibly two Canadian hunters.
"Don't wait to see if he's a fighter!" Ross said. "Tranq him and bring him back."
(0:14:18 - 0:15:01)
The audience was shocked by this information.
"He's... Killed people?" Momo questioned.
"And he's stolen military secrets as well." Compress said.
"So he's a thief and a murderer." Endeavor said.
"In that case, tranquilizing him is the best approach. He can't be given a chance to use his Quirk." Aizawa said.
"Yeah... He might end up killing them if they don't catch him immediately." Toru said.
"Hopefully they can pull it off." Kaminari said.
The villains found this interesting. Banner didn't seem like the type to kill people. In fact, he's made a point to avoid violence all together. The fact that he has a kill count is pretty surprising. They figured it must have something to do with his Quirk being uncontrollable. Not that the heroes would understand that.
Eri thought about the new information. She remembered when her Quirk manifested and she accidentally used it on her father, killing him. She never meant to kill him. It was an accident. Maybe Mr. Hulk is the same. Maybe he didn't mean to kill those people. Either way, they're both still monsters because of it.
The scene changed to Banner resting in his bed. His laptop began to beep as it received a message from Mr. Blue. Banner walked over to the laptop to check the message.
Mr. Blue: Good news. Preliminary blood tests show significant gamma reduction.
Mr. Green: Will it cure me?
Mr. Blue: Yes.
(0:15:01 - 0:15:35)
"Oh! That's great!" Melissa said.
"He can finally get rid of that awful Quirk... Whatever it is." Kirishima said.
Toga didn't like this. She already didn't like that Bruce was trying to "cure" himself. He was treating his Quirk like a disease when he should see it as a part of himself. Toga felt that if Bruce got rid of his Quirk then he'd be losing a part of himself. Even if that part is bad, it's a part of him nonetheless. Removing it felt wrong to her.
"Even if he cures himself, he'll still be hunted down by the government." Dabi said.
Mr. Blue: But... I need more DATA. Exposure levels, gamma concentration, cell saturation.
(0:15:35 - 0:15:47)
"Are you kidding me?" Sato said.
"It seems he's met yet another obstacle." Tokoyami said. "He can't catch a break." Dark Shadow said.
Mr. Green: Impossible. Data is not here.
Mr. Blue: Where is it?
Banner looked at the newspaper clipping of Betty.
Mr. Green: Home.
Banner then shut the laptop.
(0:15:47 - 0:16:10)
"So Banner has to return home if he wants to find a cure." Izuku said.
"That'll be very risky. But it's his best option." Kurogiri said.
"Ross is already on his tail anyway. Leaving would be wise." Gentle said. "Not that he knows that."
"Let's hope Ross and his men can catch Banner before he slips away." Iida said.
The scene cut to later in the day.
Ross and his men were now preparing to launch their assault on Banner. Ross remained in van while Blonsky's squad went towards Banner's house. Along the way, they tranquilized a dog that was barking at them, causing the dog to whimper.
Ricky seemed to since that something was wrong and whimpered a little, waking Banner.
(0:16:10 - 0:16:38)
"Good. Ross is there and Banner hasn't left yet." Shoji said.
"Let's hope everything goes smoothly." All Might said.
The soldiers found Banners house and inserted a camera under the door.
They spotted Banner in his bed. Ricky suddenly spotted the camera and attempted to bite it.
"Get rid of the damn dog." Ross ordered.
(0:16:38 - 0:17:06)
The villains smiled at the dog inconveniencing the soldiers. They found it amusing.
"Good boy." Toga giggled.
The soldiers removed the camera from under the door and planted charges on the door. They blew the door open and began their infiltration.
(0:17:06 - 0:17:22)
"Well Banner definitely knows there here now." Jiro said.
"It won't matter, if their quick." Endeavor said.
As the soldiers entered the house, Ricky began barking at them. Blonsky shot tranquilizer darts at Banner and uncovered them only to discover that Banner wasn't actually in the bed.
(0:17:22 - 0:17:28)
"What?! How'd he get away so fast?!" Mineta asked.
"Tch. It was the damn dog." Bakugo said.
"Banner noticed the dog's strange behavior." Aizawa said.
The heroes were annoyed by this. Already the operation had gone wrong. Now Banner has a chance to use his Quirk and cause unnecessary damage.
"Man's best friend, am I right?" Trixter said. "Ricky became a good little hero today."
Blonsky informed Ross that Banner was on the move and then tranqed Ricky.
(0:17:28 - 0:17:35)
"No! Not Ricky!" Uraraka said.
"That was a little uncalled for." Kirishima said.
"Whatever! That barking was annoying as hell!" Bakugo yelled.
"You'd know a thing or two about being annoying wouldn't you." Tsu said.
"What?!" Bakugo said.
Meanwhile, Shigaraki was beginning to hate Blonsky. Shigaraki loved dogs. Back when he had to suffer through his father's abuse, his only source of comfort was his dog. Banner was a fugitive, a villain, so maybe they also found comfort in Ricky. So the poor thing didn't deserve to be hurt like that. Shigaraki hoped Banner would kill Blonsky for what they did.
Blonsky then noticed a rope tied to the sink and leading outside a window.
Banner was then shown climbing down the rope. He accidentally scared Martina, who was getting dressed after taking a shower.
(0:17:35 - 0:17:40)
"Come on! How come I can't be this lucky?!" Mineta yelled.
The girls glared at him.
Banner entered Martina's house and told her to be silent.
Blonsky looked out the window but didn't see Banner anywhere.
"He's on the ground." Blonsky said as he and the other soldiers ran out of the house to search for Banner.
Martina watched the soldiers leave for Banner. Once they were gone, Banner kissed her on the cheek and thanked her before leaving.
(0:17:40 - 0:18:00)
"She helped him?" Sero asked.
"Probably because he helped her." Midnight sighed. "Plus, she doesn't know that he's a villain."
Banner made a break for it. He eventually spotted Blonsky and the other soldiers. When Blonsky looked at him, he tried to blend in. But it was to late, Blonsky had seen his face and began chasing him.
(0:18:00 - 0:18:19)
"Shoot! They found him... Wait, that's a good thing, right?" Uraraka questioned, confused as to who to root for.
The students were also somewhat unsure. Banner was the protagonist of the film, but he is also this film's villain. In their world, a movie about a villain is unheard of. This was a very unique experience for them. But in the end, they all knew what was right. Rooting for the villain over the government was absurd.
"He's a villain so yes, it is a good thing." Todoroki said.
"Now they just have to catch him." Jiro said.
The villains meanwhile had no reason to root for the government. Banner hasn't done anything wrong and the deaths he is responsible for were probably all accidental. As far as they were concerned, Banner was just an unfortunate person. Most villains are. For that reason, Banner was one of them. They would root for him even if he is considered the hero of the story.
Ross ordered his men in the van to go, hoping to cut off Banner's escape.
The chase was on. Banner ran through a soccer court and the soldiers followed. Banner continued to run past several people and through several alleyways.
Blonsky eventually stopped and was about to take a shot at Banner, but then Banner turned a corner. As the other soldiers continued chasing Banner, Blonsky decided to take a detour.
Banner ran past a bunch of clothes that were hanging out to dry. He used the clothes as cover, hoping the soldiers would lose sight of him. He jumped across a gap over to another building.
One soldier couldn't see where they were going and ended up falling from the roof.
(0:18:19 - 0:19:15)
"Banner has a bit of an advantage over the soldiers." Nezu said.
"He's using his knowledge of the environment to his advantage." Kurogiri said.
"I wish he'd stop running and use his Quirk already. For something uncontrollable he sure has done a good job keeping it under control." Shigaraki said.
"I don't think he wants to use it..." Eri said.
She hoped Mr. Hulk would get away. He seemed nice and he clearly didn't want to hurt anyone.
One soldier leapt across the gap and continued the chase. He and Banner ran across rooftops. He eventually took a shot at Banner, but missed.
Banner jumped down back to the ground and continued to run. His watch began to beep.
(0:19:15 - 0:19:40)
"His heart rate." Midnight worried.
"If this continues, his Quirk might activate..." All Might said, becoming concerned for the civilians.
"Come on, stop running... You're just gonna get more people hurt if you keep going..." Toru said.
Banner eventually stopped behind some soda crates. He checked his watch and saw that his heart rate was 175. He began using his breathing techniques to try and calm down.
(0:19:40 - 0:19:57)
"Why'd he stop?!" Shigaraki asked.
"He's... Trying to relax his heart rate?" Iida questioned.
"Why would he stop to do that in the middle of a chase?!" La Brava asked.
"He really doesn't want to use his Quirk." Gentle said.
This move shocked the audience, especially the heroes. It was understandable why Banner didn't want to use his Quirk earlier. If he had, Ross might have discovered his location. But he's already been found out now so why not use his Quirk to get away? Whatever his reasons, the heroes and students were grateful he wasn't as reckless as most villains.
Stain liked this moment. Banner had once again shown the signs of a true hero. He was in danger of being caught by Ross' men and yet, he was still considering the people around him over himself. He was trying to protect everyone by stopping to get his Quirk under control rather than continue running.
Blonsky continued looking for Banner and spotted him behind the soda crates.
Banner checked his watch and saw that his heart rate had lowered to 153. He then began to leave but spotted Blonsky aiming at him. He immediately began running and Blonsky chased him.
Blonsky took a shot immediately after rounding a corner, but Banner rounded another corner and avoided the shot.
As Banner continued to run, he was eventually cut off by Ross. Ross emerged from the van and he and Banner looked at each other for a moment. Banner quickly ran to his left.
"Get around behind him!" Ross ordered as he got back in the van.
"Target moving past mobile unit 0-9-0." Sparr informed the soldiers.
Banner continued running as the soldiers searched for him. While he's running, he accidentally bumps into Bully and his group of bullies.
(0:19:57 - 0:20:48)
"Oh great. Those jerks again." Mina rolled her eyes.
"Banner doesn't have time to deal with these idiots." Dabi said.
"You got to be kidding me." Banner said as he dodged a punch from bully, flipping them over his back.
He then dodges the attacks of the other bullies and runs off as he watch begins to beep. The bullies chase him.
(0:20:48 - 0:20:58)
"Looks like that Aikido is paying off." Compress said.
"But now he's got those jerks chasing him." Toga said.
"This could be a problem. They might get roped into this operation." Momo said.
Banner continued to run and his watch began to beep.
The bullies followed Banner into the bottling factory. Blonsky and the rest of the soldiers also spot Banner enter the factory.
Banner stops in the locker room and checks his watch. His heart rate was now 187. He began to breathe, trying to lower his heart rate. He heard the bullies looking for him and continued to move.
(0:20:58 - 0:21:40)
"Those men need to get out of there." Thirteen said.
"Banner's getting closer and closer to activating his Quirk. They'll be in trouble if they remain near him." Izuku said.
"Just a little more. Then we'll get to see just how dangerous Banner really is." Shigaraki smiled creepily.
While most of the audience was worried about what would happen if Banner's Quirk activates, they were also very curious.
As Banner ran through the bottling factory, he was being hunted by the soldiers and the bullies.
Banner opened a door and ran into some of the bullies. He immediately ran in the opposite direction, but was cut off by another one of the bullies.
One of the bullies grabbed Banner while another took his backpack and threw it to the side. Banner fought back and tried to get it back but was pinned against the wall by two of the bullies.
(0:21:40 - 0:22:22)
"Oh no..." La Brava said.
"This isn't good..." Kirishima said.
"They're jerks but they don't deserve to die." Kaminari said.
"I disagree." Toga said.
"They're the ones who chased Banner. Whatever comes next is on them." Dabi said.
The soldiers continued searching the Bottling factory. They eventually spotted Banner from a distance and got in position to tranq him, but couldn't get a clear shot because one of the bullies was in the way.
"Stop. Please." Banner begged. "Me... angry... very bad."
But Bully didn't listen.
Banner looked at his watch and saw that his heart rate was now 190. He was close to transforming. He then looked in the distance and spotted the soldiers through a window.
"Oh no..." Banner said. "You don't understand! Something really bad is about to happen here!" He began to panic.
(0:22:22 - 0:22:49)
"Please... Listen to him..." Eri said.
Eri understood what Mr. Hulk was feeling right now. He wasn't just worried, he was afraid. Not afraid of what would happen to him, but afraid of what would happen to these men. It reminded Eri of how scared she'd get whenever one of Overhaul's men got in trouble because of her. That fear was present in Mr. Hulk's voice. He was scared that these men would get hurt because of him.
The heroes and students were just as worried for these men as Banner was. But they were also surprised that Banner was still trying to avoid using his Quirk. These men were bullies and they had him pinned to the wall, but despite this, he was still trying to convince them to stop. He was trying to protect them.
Most of the villains, meanwhile, hoped that Banner would finally use his Quirk. Whether he liked it or not, these guys were jerks and deserved what was coming to them.
Bully still didn't listen and punched Banner in the gut, causing them to fall to the floor. Meanwhile one of the soldiers tranqed one of the bullies.
Banner's watch continued beeping rapidly and his heart rate had reached 200. Suddenly, Banner's eyes turned green and his pupils constricted.
(0:22:49 - 0:23:03)
The audience's eyes widened as they realized what was happening.
"Tch. It's too late. His Quirk is activating." Aizawa growled.
"Finally! I hope Banner tears these guys and those soldiers apart!" Shigaraki grinned.
"All we can do now is hope that Ross' men can handle this." Endeavor said.
One of the could see Banner's leg as he began to transform.
"Anybody else seeing this?" The soldier whispered.
Bully went to kick Banner while he was down, but was grabbed by Hulk. He suddenly screamed in pain as he was pulled into the shadows.
After a moment of silence, Hulk suddenly threw Bully across the factory. They flew through some windows before crashing into a wall, dying from the impact.
(0:23:03 - 0:23:24)
The audience was stunned.
"Holy shit!" Kaminari yelled.
"He threw that guy like a baseball!" Mina yelled.
"To be able to throw a person like that... That level of strength is insane." Izuku noted.
Toga could only chuckle at what she just witnessed. Bruce really was gonna make these guys pay wasn't he?
"That poor man is probably dead..." Recovery Girl said.
"His Quirk just activated and we already have one casualty..." Midnight said.
The two other bullies looked into the shadows and saw the silhouette of Hulk. They ran away while Hulk lunged at them, roaring.
The soldiers decided to go in. The bullies ran towards the soldiers but Hulk grabbed one of them and pulled them into the darkness, leaving only their shoe behind.
(0:23:24 - 0:23:40)
"Oh my gosh!" Uraraka shouted.
"He's not even running anymore... He's actually attacking them." Jiro said.
"Perhaps he doesn't get a say in the matter." Tokoyami said. "Dark Shadow grows stronger in the darkness. His strength can even reach levels beyond my control. When that happens, he becomes a beast of pure rage, lashing out at anything and everything in his sight."
"And earlier, Trixter said that Banner's Quirk was uncontrollable. You think it works similarly to yours?" Shoji asked.
"Probably not exactly the same, but Banner's Quirk's might be to powerful for him to control. He mentioned how it would be bad if he became angry. Perhaps his Quirk puts him in a state of blind rage, causing him to attack whoever he sees." Tokoyami said.
"That's an interesting theory." Izuku noted. "It would explain the sudden change in behavior."
"Who cares! I'm just glad he's done running from these weaklings." Shigaraki said.
The last bully ran past the soldiers and escaped.
"We've got a bogey of some kind. Please advise." One of the soldiers said.
"That is the target! Use every tranq you've got! Do it now!" Ross ordered.
The soldiers began firing at Hulk. A shot of his back was shown as the tranquilizer darts simply bounced off of him. He turned around and a shot of his giant foot was shown stepping on the tranquilizer darts.
(0:23:40 - 0:23:55)
"He's huge!" Mineta said.
"And green!" Aoyama said.
"And those tranquilizer darts didn't do anything!" Tsu said.
"So it's a transformation Quirk. Not only is he strong, but he also has tough skin. I wonder if he could take actual bullets." Izuku noted.
"They're gonna want to use actual bullets now. Tranquilizing him isn't an option anymore." Dabi said.
Hulk began making his way towards the soldiers, pushing giant soda tanks out of the way.
The soldiers quickly switched to live ammunition. One soldier was grabbed by Hulk.
Blonsky was moving through the facility, trying to keep his distance. He rounded a corner and spotted Hulk, now holding two soldiers that were firing there guns randomly out of desperation. Blonsky began shooting at Hulk, but had to take cover when the other soldiers' bullets nearly hit him.
Blonsky left and regrouped with the three remaining soldiers as they moved through the factory. Suddenly, one of the soldiers Hulk was holding flew past them and into a wall. The Blonsky and the soldiers began shooting at Hulk. Their bullets were completely ineffective. Hulk simply dropped the other now dead soldier and walked away.
(0:23:55 - 0:24:28)
"Even there bullets aren't effective." Izuku noted.
"Just leave you dummies. You aren't gonna win." Kota said.
Everyone in the audience agreed. At this point, the chances that these soldiers would actually win were slim. The smart thing to do would be to leave. But the audience knew that the soldiers wouldn't retreat. They would be heroes and fight to the bitter end.
The three soldiers chased after Hulk and continued shooting at him while Blonsky left the group and made his way up to the catwalk.
The soldiers continued to fire at Hulk and one threw a grenade him. The grenade exploded directly in front of Hulk. The soldiers remained silent, wondering if the beast had been dealt with.
"Leave me alone." Hulk growled, revealing that the grenade did nothing.
(0:24:28 - 0:25:07)
That caught the audience off guard.
"Huh?" Toru questioned.
"He just wants to be left alone..." Eri frowned.
Eri felt so bad for Mr. Hulk. He didn't want any of this to happen. He has just killed so many people even though he didn't mean to. Why couldn't they have just left him alone?
The soldiers began reloading their guns. Suddenly, Hulk charged towards the soldiers while using a soda tank like a ram. He hit and killed two of the soldiers while the third tried to run away. The soldier tried dodging to the right but wasn't quick enough. They were hit and killed with the soda tank.
(0:25:06 - 0:25:30)
"Banner really is gonna kill them all isn't he?" Shigaraki laughed.
"This is a massacre..." Mic said.
"It's horrible..." Inko said.
"Blonsky's the only one left now..." Kirishima said.
Blonsky continued making his way through the factory, trying to get a clear shot on Hulk. Meanwhile, Hulk was attempting to leave the factory.
Blonsky spotted Hulk and began shooting at him. Hulk, becoming more and more annoyed, turned around and looked at Blonsky. Blonsky then reloaded his gun. Once he was done, he aimed at Hulk again and was met with a terrifying sight.
The Hulk had emerged from the shadows and his face could be seen. He had a look of pure rage. He simply growled at Blonsky.
(0:25:30 - 0:25:59)
The audience was completely speechless. The rage in Hulk's eyes had filled them with fear. He looked like he would tear Blonsky in half if he got a hold of them. Everyone was not only terrified of the Hulk, but also of what he'd do to Blonsky.
"He's... He's a monster... A literal monster." Kaminari said.
"That's what his Quirk does to him...?" La Brava asked.
"Blonsky has to run!" All Might said.
Blonsky didn't make a move. He just stared at Hulk with a shocked expression.
Hulk then picked up a forklift and threw it at Blonsky, who just barely managed to dodge it. The forklift destroyed part of the catwalk and Blonsky was holding onto the edge of it.
Hulk then lifted up a machine and smashed his way through the wall with it.
Blonsky simply sat there, shocked at what he had witnessed.
Hulk's roar could be heard in the distance as he made his escape.
The ambush in Rio de Janeiro had failed.
(0:25:59 - 0:26:28)
The audience was completely silent. Now they knew just how dangerous Banner's Quirk was. The whole experience had been incredibly shocking.
"Well, ladies and gentlemen, you just saw the Incredible Hulk in action." Trixter said. "What did you think of him?"
"That was... insane." Iida said.
"His Quirk literally turns him into a monster." Mina said.
"I can see now why he's considered a high level threat." Nezu said.
"He needs to be apprehended at all costs." Aizawa said.
"Why's that?" Dabi asked. "Doesn't fit in well enough with society?"
"Banner just killed multiple soldiers on top of the people he's killed in the past." Nighteye said. "He's a villain and must pay for his crimes."
Eri felt bad for Mr. Hulk. He really was just like her. He had a terrible Quirk that caused him to kill all those people. He didn't want to kill them but his Quirk made him. And he was a horrible monster because of what he did. Just like her.
"It's not his fault!" Toga said. "He just can't control his Quirk. You saw him. He tried everything he could to avoid using his Quirk. He might have killed those guys but he didn't mean to!"
Eri just stared at Ms. Toga with a stunned expression. It wasn't Mr. Hulk's fault? Because he didn't mean to do it? Eri had spent her whole life being called a monster not just by Overhaul, but also by her own mother. She had been taught that the people that die around her die because of her. But, according to Ms. Toga, that isn't the case.
"Regardless of his intentions, Banner still put peoples lives in danger. It's his fault those men died." Midnight said.
"Those guys died because they were trying to play hero." Kota said. "Hulk wasn't even doing anything and those guys just ended up ruining everything."
That surprised everyone. None of them thought anyone other than the villains would defend Banner.
"That's not true. Banner's insistence on escaping the law is what led to all those deaths." Momo said.
"What was he supposed to do?!" Toga yelled.
"He should've turned himself in." Momo said.
"If he did that then he wouldn't find a cure." Spinner said.
"If Banner would simply turn himself in, then the government could keep him someplace secure." Nighteye said.
"Secure?! Like what, a prison?!" Toga yelled.
"While kept away from civilians, the government could also help Banner find a cure." Aizawa said. "It's the best option."
"You heroes always think you know what's best for everyone, don't you?" Shigaraki said.
"Alright. Alright. That's enough for now." Trixter said. "I'm happy to hear your thoughts but for now, let's continue the film. There will be a chance for you to continue this debate later."
As the room fell into silence, the audience thought about what they just witnessed. Most of them agreed that Banner was the bad guy here. He might have good intentions, but his actions did get a lot of people killed.
A few, mostly the villains, felt that Banner was completely innocent. He didn't try to hurt anyone. It was just an unfortunate accident.
The scene changed to Ross, Sparr, and Blonsky investigating Banner's house. Blonsky had found Banner's backpack in the factory and gave it to Ross and Sparr. Sparr found Banner's laptop and the newspaper clipping of Betty in the backpack. While Sparr analyzed the laptop, Blonsky looked at the newspaper clipping.
Blonsky questions if the person in the photo is a girlfriend and if she is helping Banner. Ross tells Blonsky that she is no longer a factor and that Banner is and wants to be alone. He does, however, tell Sparr to see if Banner's been talking to anyone.
(0:26:28 - 0:27:01)
"Considering how Banner has managed to hide for so long, it makes sense that he had to cut himself off from all known contacts." Kurogiri said.
"The only person we know he's been talking to is Mr. Blue, whoever that is." Izuku said.
Blonsky begins questioning Ross about the incident, wondering why no one seems to want to talk about it.
"He didn't lose us. And he was not alone, sir. We had him." Blonsky began. "And then something hit us, something... Something big hit us!"
Ross didn't respond.
"It threw a forklift truck like it was a softball!" Blonsky yelled. "It was the most powerful thing I've ever seen."
(0:27:01 - 0:27:38)
"It's understandable that Blonsky would be very confused by the situation." Nezu said.
"This is a Quirkless world and he just witnessed someone with what is basically a Quirk." Power Loader said. "So, yeah, his confusion is justified."
"It took a long time for people to accept Quirks in our reality as well." Iida said.
"The appearance of Quirks certainly did cause a lot of panic and chaos." Midnight said.
"Well it's gone" Ross said.
"Well, if Banner knows what it is, I'm gonna track him down, I'm gonna put my foot on his throat and I'm gonna-" Blonsky began.
"That was Banner."
Blonsky stared at Ross with a confused expression.
"It was Banner." Ross repeated.
(0:27:38 - 0:27:58)
"Yeah. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it myself." Kaminari said.
"I've never seen or heard of a Quirk quite like Banner's." Momo said.
Blonsky requested that Ross explain. Ross stated that he doesn't have to.
(0:27:50 - 0:28:03)
"Why won't he tell Blonsky?" La Brava asked.
"Come to think of it, if he knew about Banner's Quirk, why didn't he warn the soldiers about it?" Uraraka asked.
The audience thought about why Ross was keeping secrets from his men.
"He's hiding something." Compress said.
"He valued his secrets more than the lives of those men." Stain said.
Stain didn't expect any heroic traits from Ross. The man is a soldier, not a hero. But still, not understanding the value of a person's life is something Stain looks down on.
"I'm sure Ross has his reasons for keeping this information a secret." Iida said.
Ross congratulated Blonsky on doing a good job and informed him that they were returning home. He ordered Blonsky to pack up and get their men on the plane. Ross then walked outside and looked in the distance, contemplating what to do next.
The scene changed to the middle of a forest. Banner could be seen laying on the ground and waking up.
(0:28:03 - 0:28:50)
"There's Bruce!" Toga said.
"He's back to normal. I wonder how long it's been." Koda said.
Banner got up and began analyzing his surroundings, clearly unsure of where he was. Some text appeared.
'DAYS WITHOUT INCIDENT: 1'
(0:28:50 - 0:29:05)
"So it's been a full day since he reverted back to normal." Mei said.
"So that's another drawback to his Quirk. He needs a lot of time to recover after using it." Izuku noted. "I wonder how long the transformation lasts."
Banner walked through the forest until he made it to a road. He saw someone driving by. He quickly made his way towards them and they stopped upon seeing him.
"Can you help me?" Banner asked, speaking Portuguese.
The driver stated, in Spanish, that he doesn't speak Portuguese. This surprised Banner. Luckily, they recognized the language the driver was speaking. They asked the driver where they were. The driver responded that they were in Guatemala.
(0:29:05 - 0:29:35)
"He traveled all the way to Guatemala while transformed?!" Melissa asked.
"He must have some enhanced speed and stamina when transformed." Izuku noted.
"It seems that his Quirk enhances his physical abilities in general." Kurogiri said.
"Kind of like All Might's Quirk." Kirishima said.
"I suppose our Quirks are similar." All Might said.
"Minus the lack of control." Mic said.
The driver explained that he was heading to the next town down the road. Banner asked if the driver could help them. The driver agreed to give them a ride to the town, even giving them a cloth to keep warm.
As they drove down the road, the driver asked Banner where they were going. Banner responded that he was going home.
(0:29:35 - 0:30:00)
"Looks like Banner really is going back home." Hagakure said.
"Where is home anyway?" Kaminari asked.
"The United States." Trixter answered.
"Well, he's back on the run again so he might as well head back home to find that cure." Compress said.
The scene changed to Ross and his men arriving at the military base. Ross and Blonsky were then shown side by side, walking through a hallway.
"I've run into bad situations on crap missions before." Blonsky began. "I've seen good men go down purely because someone didn't let us know what we were walking into. I've moved onto the next one, because that's what we do, right? I mean, that's the job. But this?"
Blonsky and Ross came to a stop.
"This is a whole new level of weird. And I don't feel inclined to step away from it." Blonsky stated.
Blonsky then tells Ross that if they plan on taking another shot at Banner, he wants in.
(0:30:00 - 0:30:29)
"Really? He still wants to fight Banner, even after he almost died?" Sero questioned.
"That's surprising. If I didn't have a Quirk, I wouldn't want anything to do with Banner." Toru said. "Heck, even with my Quirk, I'd still be terrified."
"Heroes should never back down, no matter how bad things get." All Might smiled. "Blonsky might be a soldier, but soldiers are still heroes in their own right. They have a determination to defend that all heroes possess. Blonsky is no different."
The audience thought about what the Symbol of Peace said. He was right. Blonsky, as well as all those other soldiers, are technically heroes. Not superheroes, but heroes nonetheless.
"And, with respect, you should be looking for a team that's prepped and ready to fight, because if that thing shows up again, you're gonna have a lot of professional tough guys pissing in their pants. Sir." Blonsky stated.
(0:30:29 - 0:30:43)
"That's right. If it had been us in their shoes, we would have been caught completely off guard by Banner's transformation." Midnight said.
"Even with our skills and Quirks, there likely would have still been some injuries and possibly casualties." Aizawa said.
"That's why it's important to know who and what you're up against." Nighteye said.
"The soldiers weren't prepared last time. Next time, if they know what they're up against, they might have a chance." Shoji said.
The scene changed to a town. Some text appeared.
'CHIAPAS - MEXICO'
Banner could be seen walking up the street, tired, shirtless, and pants torn.
The scene cut to him sitting on a side walk, holding his hands out, in hopes that someone would give him some spare change.
(0:30:43 - 0:30:55)
The audience frowned at the scene. Even if Banner is the villain, most of the audience still felt bad for him.
"Poor Bruce." Toga frowned.
"He had managed to build a life for himself, at least somewhat... Now, that's all gone." Gentle said.
Most of the villains understood Banner's position. Many of them have been in the same spot early in their careers.
A little boy walked over to him and gave him some money. As the boy walked away, Banner looked at them with a grateful expression.
(0:30:55 - 0:31:05)
The audience smiled.
"At least there are people around willing to help." Izuku smiled.
Izuku wasn't sure how to feel about Banner. They were the villain and yet, he couldn't help but feel bad for them.
The scene changed to a market, where Banner was buying some clothes. After getting a shirt, he then requested some pants from the shopkeeper. She gave him a pair of pants which he began analyzing.
Banner noticed a large lady to his left. He held the pants in front of her butt, trying to get an idea of their size. He turned back to the shopkeeper and asked for a stretchier pair of pants. She delivered.
(0:31:05 - 0:31:38)
The audience chuckled at this scene.
"Guess he's preparing for the possibility of another incident." Tsu said.
"That makes sense. I always were larger clothes so that they fit when I activate my Quirk." All Might said.
"Maybe Papa and I should make a suit that can stretch to match your size." Melissa suggested.
"No, that's fine. I actually like how loose my clothes are." All Might said.
The scene cut to Banner sleeping on the side walk. A motorcycle passed by and the sound caused Banner to have flashbacks to the ambush in Rio de Janeiro and the time when he first transformed and injured Betty. Banner suddenly jolted awake.
(0:31:38 - 0:31:43)
Once again the audience felt a little bad for Banner.
"Damn. He doesn't even have a place to stay." Kirishima said.
"And he's so on edge that even a motorcycle passing by sounds like gunshots to him. He seems to have some PTSD." Recovery girl said.
"Being on the run would make it very difficult to relax." Nezu said. "Especially after you just got attacked by the people you're running from. Having nightmares about the past is understandable."
Banner then got up to leave.
The scene cut to Banner walking along a path in the forest, making his way home.
(0:31:43 - 0:32:01)
"He's seriously gonna walk all the way back to the States?!" Mina gasped.
"He doesn't have much of a choice." Dabi said.
"Man... Being on the run is rough." Kaminari said.
"No shit, Sparky." Bakugo said.
The scene changed to Blonsky and Ross walking through a hangar, discussing something. Ross explained to Blonsky that what he was about to reveal to them is extremely sensitive to him and the Army.
"You're aware that we've got an Infantry Weapons Development program." Ross began. "Well, in WWII, they initiated a sub-program for Bio-Tech Force Enhancement."
"Yeah, Super Soldier." Blonsky said.
Ross stopped. "Yes. An oversimplification, but yes." He said.
(0:32:01 - 0:32:38)
"Super Soldier?" Power Loader questioned.
"So this 'Bio-Tech Force Enhancement' was a project started in WWII." Izuku noted. "They must have been trying to enhance the abilities of soldiers during the war."
"For future reference, you can just call it the 'Super Soldier Program'." Trixter said.
"Rhodey never mentioned anything about Super Soldiers, so the project must have failed. Otherwise, there'd be a ton of Super Soldiers running around." Melissa said.
The audience was interested in learning more about this 'Super Soldier Program'. (Oh, they're gonna love THE Super Soldier.)
Ross then stated that he dusted off the project. He began explaining the origin of Banner's powers.
"Banner's work was very early phase. It wasn't even weapons application. He thought he was working on radiation resistance. I would never have told him what the project really was." Ross said as he sat down. "But he was so sure of what he was onto, that he tested it on himself."
(0:32:28 - 0:33:06)
"That explains those scenes at the beginning." Nezu said.
"Banner thought he was working on radiation resistance when he was actual working on the Super Soldier Program." Izuku noted. "What we saw at the beginning was him testing it on himself. That's how he got his Quirk."
"So he didn't just... manifest it? He actually created a Quirk?" Sero questioned.
"That's pretty crazy! Stark managed to replicate Quirks with his suit, but Banner actually created a real Quirk! Actual superpowers!" Mei said.
Mei, as well as the rest of the audience, was very impressed by this. Quirks were something you're born with. You either have one or you don't. That's what they always believed. The idea that someone could create a Quirk was mind-blowing.
"So it's Ross' fault!" Toga growled. "Bruce is being hunted down because of his Quirk and the only reason he has it is because Ross lied to him!"
"Ross may have lied, but the information was likely confidential." Aizawa said. "Besides, Banner chose to test on himself. That wasn't Ross' doing. It's Banner's own arrogance that turned him into a villain."
"But... Mr. Hulk didn't even ask for his Quirk." Eri said.
"That doesn't matter. Whether he wanted it or not, his recklessness left him with a dangerous power that he has used to harm and kill many innocent people." Midnight explained. "He cannot be forgiven simply because he made a mistake."
"It should matter." Toga said.
Ross continued. "And something went very wrong... Or it went very right." He said. "As far as I'm concerned, that man's whole body is property of the US Army."
(0:33:06 - 0:33:19)
"So that's it." Dabi said. "Ross just wants to experiment on Banner's Quirk."
"He likely intends on finding a means to control it and give it to other soldiers." Kurogiri said. "If he manages that, then the Super Soldier Program would certainly be a success."
The audience thought about this. Giving Banner's Quirk to other people? That sounds incredibly dangerous.
"'He should just turn himself in'." Toga said sarcastically, making fun of the heroes' earlier statement.
"So Banner has even more reason to run." Gentle said. "He isn't just trying to find a cure, he's also trying to prevent Ross from weaponizing his Quirk."
"While I don't really agree with giving Banner's Quirk to other people, I do understand why Ross would do that." Thirteen said.
"He's just trying to protect his country. He's a military man and in the military, the best way to protect a country is to give them a better weapon." Nighteye said.
"You're seriously gonna sit here and say that what Ross wants to do is okay?!" Toga yelled.
"We're not saying it's okay. Just that we understand his reasons." All Might said.
Toga didn't respond, but she was very frustrated. One other person was also beginning to dislike the heroes' mindset.
Eri couldn't understand how anyone could see what Ross is doing as okay. He wanted to turn Mr. Hulk's Quirk into a weapon. He was just like Overhaul. And Mr. Hulk was just like her. As Eri listened to Ms. Toga talk about how Mr. Hulk is innocent, she began to believe it. Everything Overhaul had said was being contradicted by everything Ms. Toga was saying. Eri wanted to believe that Ms. Toga was right. That Mr. Hulk hasn't done anything wrong. So hearing the heroes say mean things about Mr. Hulk was beginning to upset Eri.
"You said he wasn't working on weapons, right?" Blonsky asked.
"No." Ross answered.
"But you were. You were, weren't you? You were trying other things."
Ross explains that they developed one serum that was considered very promising. Blonsky asked why Banner ran if that's the case. Ross explained that Banner is a scientist, not one of them.
Ross then got up and walked in front of Blonsky.
"Blonsky, how old are you? 45?" Ross asked.
"39." Blonsky corrected.
"It takes a toll, doesn't it?"
"Yes it does."
"So get out of the trenches. You should be a Colonel by now, with your record."
"No, I'm a fighter. I'll be one for as long as I can."
(0:33:19 - 0:33:57)
The heroes and students smiled at this. Blonsky's desire to continue fighting for the army was not only admirable, but also something many heroes can relate to.
"Hell yeah! I'd rather be where all the action is!" Bakugo said.
"Blonsky is so manly, dude!" Kirishima said.
"I know just how Blonsky feels. I don't plan on retiring any time soon." All Might said.
"Even though you should." Nighteye said.
All Might sighed. "You know why I can't do that."
Nighteye didn't respond.
"You know, if I could take what I know now, put it in the body I had ten years ago, that would be someone I wouldn't want to fight." Blonsky said.
"I could probably arrange something like that." Ross said.
Blonsky smiled at this.
(0:33:57 - 0:34:11)
"That felt... weirdly sinister." Jiro said.
"Well, Banner is supposed to be the protagonist of this story. So, naturally, any plot against him would come off as sinister." Nezu said. "I take it Trixter designed the music to give off that feeling."
"That's right. What good film doesn't have good music?" Trixter said. (I realized, after writing this, how ironic this line is since people don't really like this movie. I personally like this movie and the music in it though.)
"So there going to give Blonsky that Super Soldier Serum they developed?" Sato asked.
"Which means Blonsky might be getting a Quirk." Inko said.
"That could be really good. But will it be enough to match Banner?" Tsu wondered.
"We'll just have to wait and see." Shoji said.
The scene changed to an overshot of a school. Some text appeared.
'CULVER UNIVERSITY - VIRGINIA'
The scene cut to Banner sitting on a bench pretending to read a newspaper. He got up and made his way towards the university's campus. Some text appeared.
'DAYS WITHOUT INCIDENT: 17'
(0:34:11 - 0:34:29)
"So it's been sixteen days now." Iida said.
"That's a long walk." Mineta said.
"But it seems he's reached his destination." Kurogiri said.
"So the data is here at the University. I suppose that makes since." Izuku said.
"Huh? How does that make since?" Sero asked.
"One of the newspapers during the film's intro sequence stated that the first incident involving Banner occurred in one of the University's laboratories." Momo explained.
He walked towards the entrance of the school but saw a security guard who was checking the student's IDs before letting them enter.
Having no way past the guard, Banner decides to leave and come up with a new plan.
(0:34:29 - 0:34:45)
"Yet another obstacle." Gentle sighed.
"If he wants that data, he'll have to get past the security first." Compress said.
"Just kill the guard, get the data, and fight your way out!" Shigaraki said. "It's not like the cops or military can stop you!"
"He wishes to remain hidden and avoid violence, Tomura." Kurogiri said. "He'll have to find a more subtle approach."
"How can someone so powerful be so determined to run from a fight." Shigaraki groaned.
The scene cuts to Banner, outside and leaving the campus. He then came to a stop upon seeing something. He stood there for a moment before making his way towards the thing that got his attention.
He made his way towards the University's Biological Sciences Building. He approached a directory that listed the names of various students. He focused on one name in particular. Dr. Elizabeth Ross.
(0:34:45 - 0:35:19)
"Wait, Ross!" Toru said.
"So she's Ross' daughter?" Momo wondered.
"Yep. Elizabeth Ross is the daughter of Thaddeus Ross." Trixter said.
"So Bruce's girlfriend is the daughter of the guy who's chasing him?" La Brava questioned.
"Ex-girlfriend." Dabi said. "Ross mentioned earlier that Betty was 'no longer a factor'. I doubt she and Banner are still together after everything that's happened."
"This does, however, give even more reason as to why Ross is so determined to catch Banner." Recovery Girl said.
"Elizabeth was injured when Banner first transformed. Given that it was the result of Banner's recklessness, Ross' anger during the earlier scenes is even more justified." Nighteye said.
The scene cut to Betty leaving the building with two other people. Banner was watching her from a distance.
(0:35:19 - 0:35:31)
"Oh! There she is." Uraraka said.
"Is Banner gonna reunite with his long lost love?!" Mina gasped.
"I doubt it. He's probably better off staying out of her life." Dabi said.
Betty then separated from the other two people and sat on a bench. Banner stood by a tree as he watched her, clearly wishing he could speak to her.
(0:35:31 - 0:35:51)
This scene was very sad for the audience. It was clear that Banner really missed Betty, but couldn't reconnect with her due to his status as a fugitive. He had no choice but to keep his distance.
Betty then looked in Banner's direction. Banner, fearing that Betty might have seen him, tried to hide behind the tree.
(0:35:51 - 0:35:57)
"Huh! Did she see him?!" Toru wondered.
Betty then smiled at the person she was actually looking at, Leonard Samson. Betty got up and the two began walking together.
(0:35:57 - 0:36:07)
"Oh." Toru said.
"That was close. It would be bad if she knew he was there." Tsu said.
"How?! If she knew he was there then they could reconnect." Mina said.
"Because as much as he might want that, he at least knows that it isn't a good idea." Midnight said. "The last thing she needs is her former boyfriend turned villain walking back into her life."
Banner emerged from behind the tree and watched as Betty walked away with Samson, the two of them holding hands.
Banner, realizing that Betty may be in a new relationship, looked down with a sad expression. He then turned around and left.
(0:36:07 - 0:36:20)
"Hang on! Is that guy her new boyfriend?!" La Brava asked.
"It isn't really surprising if that's the case. She was bound to move on eventually." Jiro said.
"Still, it's kind of messed up." La Brava said.
"Her previous boyfriend became a fugitive and nearly killed her. How is it messed up that she got a new boyfriend?" Kirishima questioned.
The scene changed to a pizza restaurant called Stanley's Pizza Parlor. The owner, Stanley Lieber, was saying goodbye to his last to customers before closing up for the day.
As Stanley was locking the door, Banner approached and knocked. Stanley didn't look at them and simply pointed at the sign that said closed. Banner simply knocked again and Stanley finally looked to see who it was. He immediately let Banner in upon seeing them.
(0:36:20 - 0:36:43)
"He seems to recognize Banner." Thirteen said.
"An old acquaintance perhaps." Endeavor said.
The scene cut to Banner and Stanley sitting in the kitchen having a chat.
"Stan, I give you my word, whatever you've heard about me, it's not true." Banner said.
"Oh, I know it. I always knew it." Stanley said.
Stanley then brought up Betty, asking if Banner has spoken with her. Banner explained that she doesn't even know that he's there.
Banner then asked if Betty was with somebody.
"Yeah, he's a head shrink. They say he's one of the best. But a really nice guy." Stanley explained.
"Good. That's good." Banner said, although it was clear that he was somewhat hurt by the fact that Betty had moved on from him.
(0:36:43 - 0:37:15)
"At least she's with someone nice." Uraraka said.
"It's nice to see that Banner still cares about her." Mina said.
Stanley asked if there was anything he could do to help Banner. Banner explained that they could use a place to stay. Stanley told Banner they could use the spare room upstairs.
(0:37:15 - 0:37:25)
"He's seriously gonna help a villain?" Mineta said.
"Well, he clearly trusts Banner. Although it is disappointing that he's doing something so clearly illegal." Momo said.
"At least Bruce has someone who will help him." Toga smiled.
"There is, um, there is one other thing." Banner said.
The scene then cut Carver University, with Banner disguised as a pizza delivery guy. He was riding a bike past several students as he made his way towards the school entrance.
The scene cut to Banner, now inside the building, approaching the security guard.
"Hey, pal. I got a delivery on five." Banner said.
(0:37:25 - 0:37:43)
"You're kidding me." Shigaraki said.
"This is how he plans to sneak in?" Aizawa raised an eyebrow.
"It is a rather... unique approach." Compress said. "Still, I like the creativity."
"Modern problems require modern solutions. Pizza time!" Twice said.
"I don't think there's anybody up there." The guard said.
"Oh, man. I'm gonna catch hell if I don't collect. You got to let me try." Banner pleaded.
The guard just stared at Banner, unconvinced.
Banner then offered the guard a free medium pizza. The guard got up and analyzed the pizza before looking back at Banner and allowing them to enter.
"You are the man." Banner said as he and the guard grasped each other's hands.
"God bless you, brother." The guard said.
Banner walked off and the guard sat down to enjoy his pizza.
(0:37:43 - 0:38:12)
"That actually worked?!" The students gaped.
"I guess sometimes the simple approach can work surprisingly well." Izuku said.
"This is why we use security bots at UA. Machines are so much more reliable than humans." Nezu said.
The scene cut to Banner wandering through the halls of the school. He was walking past a computer lab. As he walked past the windows of the room, the scene shifted to a flashback sequence of the lab back when Banner first became the Hulk.
(0:38:12 - 0:38:30)
"Huh?" Ojiro questioned.
"Is this the room where the experiment took place? When Banner tested the Super Soldier Serum on himself?" Iida asked.
"I think so. Which means the data is located here." Recovery Girl said.
"They completely revamped the room." Uraraka said.
"Most likely to cover up the incident." Kurogiri said.
Betty was shown watching as Banner began the test. The Gamma Ray Projector slowly moved in front of Banner. He winked at Betty as the test began.
Once the Gamma Ray Projector was completely in front of Banner, the roar of Hulk could be heard and the flashback suddenly ended.
(0:38:30 - 0:38:44)
"The moment the man became the beast." Tokoyami said. "A truly regrettable day." Dark Shadow added.
As Banner stood outside the computer lab, he noticed someone sitting in the room who was looking at him. (Guess what! That person in the room is actually Roger Harrington. The Decathlon Team teacher in Spider-Man: Homecoming.)
The scene cut to Banner now in the room, sitting in front of one of the computers. He began logging in using Betty's account. He glanced at Harrington, who was on the other side of the table. They held up a slice of pizza, revealing that they were bribed just like the guard.
(0:38:44 - 0:39:00)
The audience chuckled.
"People will seriously let him do whatever he wants in the school just for some pizza?" Endeavor raised an eyebrow.
"I probably would." Kaminari said.
Banner looked back at the computer and logged in. He began his search for the data, starting with files relating to the project he worked on.
'GAMMA PULSE' Banner typed into the project search bar. Nothing came up.
Banner then tried searching for files relating to himself.
'B* BANNER' Banner typed into the name search bar. Once again, nothing came up.
Banner sighed, realizing that all the data was gone.
(0:39:00 - 0:39:35)
"The data is... gone?" Kirishima questioned.
"Ross probably wiped the data." Dabi said.
"Then what's Bruce gonna do now?" Toga wondered.
Having run out of ideas, Banner decided to message Mr. Blue.
Mr. Blue: Mr. Green! How goes the search?
Mr. Green: The data is gone.
Mr. Blue: Without it... I cannot help.
Banner didn't seem shocked by this. In fact, he just seemed disappointed. While it seemed as though Banner's only hope of finding a cure was gone, that wasn't the case. This scene showed that Banner never had much hope in this plan to begin with. This endeavor ended exactly how he expected. In failure.
Mr. Blue: So what now?
Mr. Green: I've got to keep moving.
(0:39:35 - 0:40:08)
"So that's it... He's just gonna run for the rest of his life...?" Jiro said.
"He doesn't have any other options. Without that cure, Ross will continue hunting Banner down in hopes of weaponizing his Quirk." Kurogiri said. "If Banner wishes to keep that from happening, he will have to keep running."
"That's so sad..." Uraraka said.
The audience felt really bad for Banner. He has reached a dead end. He will never be able to cure himself. Now, he has to keep running. Running is all he can do.
The villains saw this as Banner's best option. He could very easily fight back, become a real villain. But he clearly didn't want that.
The heroes, despite understanding the tragedy of Banner's situation, still felt that he should stop running. It's over now. His search for a cure has been fruitless. At this point, his best option is to give up and turn himself in. Running will only endanger more people.
The audience wondered where things would go from here.
