Seeing my incredulous expression, Daniel Carter laughed, "What, don't believe in your son's charm?"
"Are you saying that I gain status because of my son?"
"Well, kind of."
I felt embarrassed.
This was definitely not my intention.
"Will your family think that I had the child on purpose to threaten them?" If that's the case, it would be a huge misunderstanding.
Daniel shook his head, his tone somewhat helpless, "You're too sensitive. If you wanted to gain status with the child, you could have done so when you found out about the pregnancy, or at the latest after the child was born — that way, you wouldn't have had to raise the child alone so painstakingly."
I felt a lot more relaxed inside.
After two years apart, he still understands me.
Seeing that I was finally smiling, Daniel stepped forward and held my hand: "So, will you marry me or not?"
Huh? Back to this question again?
