### Flashbac

Girl's POV:

I was in my beautiful room, dominated by shades of purple—from the painted walls to the furniture and curtains. Everything, as I said before, was in varying tones of purple.

In fact, I'm obsessed with this color and everything related to it.

But let's get back to the point…

As I said, I was lying on my bed, taking a short break from studying. I had a math exam tomorrow, and my hand had started aching from all the writing and solving equations.

I heard knocks at the door, and I knew it was one of our housemaids. I allowed her to come in.

"Come in."

A few seconds later, I saw the door—quite far from my bed—open as the maid's footsteps approached. She spoke respectfully

"Young miss, Mr. Kim would like to see you in his office now."

My face frowned in surprise at my dear father's request. I gestured for her to leave after saying,

"Alright… but do you know why he's calling me? Never mind, you can go back to your work."

She bowed politely, then left the room with measured steps.

After the maid left, I got up from my bed, deciding to go downstairs to see my father. But before going down, I glanced at the mirror to fix my study-ruined appearance.

The reflection staring back at me was a short, slender girl with lightly tanned skin, long hair down to her waist, black eyes, and lips tinted a shade close to orange. My figure was well-proportioned, with a full chest that matched the curves of a grown woman.

I was wearing a short black summer blouse that revealed half my stomach, and grey athletic shorts that barely covered my thighs.

That girl in the mirror was me. But besides my attractive and striking features, my hair was messy.

I decided to put on a sports jacket that reached my thighs, because one of my father's rules was that I couldn't walk around the house wearing clothes as short as what I had on.

I zipped up the jacket, leaving the top part slightly open to show the rise of my chest.

I left my room and walked toward my father's office.

I knocked twice on the door, out of respect for his privacy while working. Moments later, I heard his voice giving permission to enter.

Mr. Kim:"Come in."

I greeted him, "Good morning, Daddy. Did you want to see me?"

Father: "Yes, I wanted to discuss something important with you. Come in, my spoiled little girl."

I nodded and walked toward the couch opposite his desk. I sat down, waiting for him to begin.

Father: "Son, my dear, you know my company has grown a lot. I can no longer work with the same energy I had in my youth. Your older brother hasn't finished his master's degree abroad yet, and there's no one to inherit the company in his absence. Without an heir, I fear we could go bankrupt soon."

I listened carefully, still not fully understanding where this was going. He continued:

Father: "You know Mr. Kyung-soo, don't you?"

I thought for a moment—the name wasn't unfamiliar.

"Do you mean your friend who holds a position in the Ministry of Defense?"

He nodded.

"Yes, that's him. He has decided to retire, as he's grown too old for the military, and he wants to develop his family's businesses. Since he's been away from the business world for a long time, he needed my extensive experience. In return, I needed someone to help me manage our family's affairs."

I nodded in understanding, so he went on:

"In the end, we decided to merge our companies. This way, our losses will be recovered, and the Kyung-soo family's business will grow as well."

I was happy for him—lately, I'd noticed his constant worry over the company since Oppa was away studying abroad.

"Really? Congratulations, Dad! I'm so happy for you."

His expression turned a bit more serious.

"But… for the merger to happen, there had to be a step that would prevent our separation in the future."

I waited for him to explain.

Father: "We decided to set a condition for the merger… and that condition is marriage."

I asked in confusion,

"Marriage? Marriage to who?!"

Father: "You… and Kai, Mr. Kyung-soo's son."

My face froze in shock before tears began streaming down my face in protest at this unfair decision.

"Dad, you're joking, right? Tell me you're joking, please! Tell me you were just teasing me and that you won't marry me off like this. Please!"

Father: "I don't joke about such matters. And is this really a time for tears?"

I cried harder.

"Dad, please… I'm too young to get married. I don't want to marry! Does Mom know about this?"

He replied calmly,

"Yes, she's already agreed. As for you, you'd better accept the reality, because the wedding will be next week."

My face showed shock.

"Do you want to get rid of me that quickly?"

I spat out the words, full of rage and heartbreak, then ran out of the office and up to my room, where I could let my tears and pain pour out.

When Mom saw me like this, she hurried to my room to comfort me.

I was lying on my big bed covered in soft fur throws, having tossed my jacket onto the floor, back in my short blouse that showed my chest and bare stomach, and the shorts I'd been wearing before going to see Dad.

She gently patted my shoulder.

"My little one, don't hurt yourself over this. I'm sure your father wouldn't have taken such a step unless he believed it was for your benefit and to secure your future."

I rested my head on her lap.

"It doesn't matter. It won't change my mind—I refuse this marriage."

She smoothed my hair, now messy from my earlier anger.

"I have a question for you, dear."

I looked into her green eyes—she had foreign roots, as few Koreans have colored eyes.

"Has your father ever asked you for something just for his own sake?"

I shook my head firmly.

"Then have you thought about how refusing him might hurt his feelings? He's been stressed about the company for days, and when his friend offered the merger, I saw relief wash over him for the first time in a long while."

I thought about her words, and realized she was right.

Dad had been worn out in recent days, always thinking, but today his face looked bright and free from worry.

"…Alright, I agree, Mom."
