Chapter 64: A Proposal (1)
Uriel’s heart sank once more; Apollonia was crying. The eyes that always glistened beautifully were shedding tears. It was a side that he never expected to see from her.
Seemingly sensing his gaze upon her, Apollonia turned her head away, as though not to show her crying face to him.
Uriel edged closer to her bed. He wished he could fulfill all of her desires, no matter what they were. If she did not want to show him her teras, then that too, he wanted to fulfill. Slowly and carefully, he wrapped his right arm around Apollonia’s shoulder. He could sense her flinch momentarily, but she didn’t push him away.
When he felt her body tremble through his arms, he leaned even further to hug her tightly.
“I saw nothing,” he said, softly as though whispering. The minute quivers from her shoulders and back traveled to his mind through his hands, making him ache. “I wish to stay like this for just a moment.”
