Chapter 3 - New Discovery

Opening theme song: "Magic" by Coldplay

"The guts!" Young Master Dylan exclaimed, his voice filled with rage.

His expression contoured in a deep frown. As he walked into the room in big strides, his boots thudded against the ground. He stopped in the middle of the room, pacing up and down. "I must be dreaming!" He let out, with a snort.

"Far from it," a masculine voice said, deep and calm.

Dylan grabbed the back of his head and pulled a few strands in frustration. He spun around to glare at the one who spoke.

"Why do you suddenly feel calm about this madness, Brother?" He queried in a cold tone.

"Tsk…" The man let out a slight chuckle and grabbed a book on the desk, flipping through it.

"The Taoism Bloodlines indeed," he muttered under his breath and slapped the book back on the desk.

Dylan, feeling more infuriated, moved to stand in front of his twin brother.

"Brother, this is unfair to us. The direct bloodline and heir of our parents who are Taoism Masters." He exclaimed, voicing out his pent-up anger.

"Didn't you hear the Old Master, my Shifu?" His brother retorted with a cold voice.

Reminding him of the reason they have to be measured together with the six weirdos from other races of the world.

All because it was stated that the power of The Taoism Bloodline will awaken the body it chooses to finish the task at hand.

Dylan and his twin brother, Jaden Fang are the direct bloodline of the former Taoism Masters who fought together and balanced the peace between the cultivators and the demon sect.

Before the birth of the two twins, another Demon Lord emerged breaking the peace in the realm which spurred the early deaths and injury of the remaining Taoism masters.

Lin yang sects are specifically known for their prestige and strength. The Last Taoism Masters emerged from their sects. Seeing the situation on the ground, other small sects came to pledge alliance and they merged with the Lin Yang sect.

Together, the Head Master's cast a spell that formed a barrier to protect their race from the new demon lord's rage till the awakening of The Taoism Bloodlines.

Dylan and Jaden never accept that the awakening will be through individuals from other races, even a –Black Race was included.

"Didn't you hear the word of Old Master, my Shifu?" Jaden queries. His ragged voice betrayed him of his pent-up anger inside.

Dylan dragged in a few breaths and exhaled all out. Feeling weirdly tired.

He drags himself to a nearby couch and slumps his body on it. "So we have no choice but to work with them?" He confirms staring into his elder twin's eyes.

"Quite obvious," Jaden countered, raising the corner of his lips into a meaningful smile.

"But that's just for the meantime, don't you agree with me?" He suddenly said, making his twin brother Dylan squirm in excitement.

Dylan's eyes lit up as he realized the meaning behind his brother's words. Bear with them for the sake of the sect and kick them off later.

That's why he could never love his brother less. He is always the smart one, and always to the rescue.

"I love the sound of this," he said with a smirk.

"And so do I," Jaden added, his smile deadly. He grabbed the silver mask on the desk that had a half-moon shape and used it to cover his face.

Dylan's expression turned to a deep frown at that action.

"Do you despise our appearance that much?" He implored with a cocked brow.

"Not as you put it, little brother, rather not to have your bride mistake me for you!" Jaden explained with a teasing smile on his lips.

Dylan let out a slight chuckle at his words. "You and I know that's lame, and you know it,"

Jaden didn't defend himself this time but drew a smirk on his lip and started to leave the room.

"Remember to get yourself ready, as the pieces of training will commence and it'll get tougher!" He said before he disappeared from the room.

...

After the headmaster left the great hall, Kimora and the other five individuals were the only ones left behind. Not knowing what else to do, she got up from her seat to take her leave back to her room.

Guess that's what it is now, she thought.

Kimora had just taken two steps out of her chair when a voice stopped her.

"Hey, I believe you are like the rest of us," A blond girl out of the six individuals expressed, tugging a warm smile on her lips.

"Transmigrators!" another boy added, hid face breaking into a warm smile.

"Umm," Kimora drew, trying to find her words.

"By the way, my name is Taj from India. Nice to meet you." The boy introduced himself with his right hand open for a handshake.

Kimora accepted his handshake. Her tense heart began to calm down as she realized she was not the only outsider there.

"Elsa Morgan, I'm American," The blond girl introduced herself, making Kimora raise her brows in surprise.

How many races are here? She asked internally.

"Ohmkatapon, I'm from Thailand." Another boy introduced himself.

"I am called Da Sowei. Technically I'm from here." Another boy added in a carefree manner.

"Luna, that's my name," The Asian beauty clad in black said.

"Nice to meet you all." Kimora managed to say as she digested her discoveries.

"What should we call you Ebony?" Taj reminded her in a teasing smile.

"Oh, forgive my manners. My name is Kimora." She introduced herself.

They all nodded in understanding.

After introducing each other, Kimora brought up the topic that fueled her questions.

"Taj, you said something about us being transmigrators. What do you mean by that?" She inquired.

Thrown aback by the question, Taj cleared his throat to answer her.

"Well, that's what it looks like. I was a gamer, until one particular afternoon I was executing a mission and this strange code appeared on my screen.

The next thing I remember, I was here after my eyes almost got blinded by the shimmering light that shone from my system." He confessed.

"hah! That's quite like it. Cuz I found myself here after I thought I saw a bright light under the swimming pool during our swimming club sports." Elsa added with a knowing look.

"It seems every one of us transmigrated here in a different way " Luna who rarely spoke since the conversation countered with a serious expression.

"Hmmm, it's gonna be a long discussion." Taj pipe in.

"Tsk… if you want it to be man." Da Sowei said in a teasing tune.

"Especially this weird stuff about The Taoism Bloodline." Elsa let out in a strange tone. Suddenly every one of them became silent at her words.

"It's a weird stuff to you?" Luna throws the question at Elsa who was deep in thoughts.

"Since none of them are ready to give me the answers I need!" Kimora suddenly retorts. Her eyes redaiting uncertainty.

"I apologize for breaking your little getting-to-know moment. But you have to leave the great hall and follow your spirit guardian to grab your uniforms and come down for dinner." A voice suddenly said through the glowing intercom.

The six of them exchange glances and start to leave the great hall with their spirit fairy Guardian.
