Malcolm's gun shot out a mighty three-inch bullet which looked like a drill, while that of Gideon shot out a green-colored Laser Beam. Both attacks traveled extremely fast and quickly reached the fleeing twins.
"Haaaa" Lei Shi and Leng Shi gave a battle cry while turning around. They then shot attacks back them.
Lei Shi fired a supercharged-electric beam, and Leng Shi, a dark-blue orb.
BOOM
A massive explosion was ignited as soon as Lei Shi's electric beam met with Gideon's laser.
ZAP!
Gideon's Laser Beam, without much delay, directly overpowered Lei Shi's electric beam.
BRRAA!!
The Laser Beam pushed back the electric beam and reached Lei Shi. It cut across his body, roasting his body from the right-side of his waist to his left-shoulder.
BANG
Malcolm's Bullet tore through the sky and collided with the orb that Leng Shi fired. This dark-blue orb was different from the other orbs that he fired, it crystallized and got harder as it traveled, right up until the point it collided with Malcolm's bullet.
*Crack*
*Shatter*
The bullet pierced through orb and shattered it, as how a drill would shatter a marble ball.
Without stopping, the bullet directly pierced through Leng Shi's belly, coming out through the other side.
"Cough" Leng Shi coughed out a large mouthful of blood. The bullet created a gaping hole in his stomach, but luckily, he was able to shift his body at the last moment before the impact, causing the bullet to miss his vital organs. However, such a hole in his body wasn't a good thing under any circumstance.
*Shooo*
Leng Shi gritted his teeth and froze the open wound, stopping the bleeding.
Lei Shi and Leng Shi were on their last legs. Their bodies couldn't take any more attacks and their HTB suits couldn't take any more damage, they had reach the point that even if they wanted to block, they couldn't, their HTB suits were almost out of energy and the fact that they were still able to fly was a miracle.
Looking around, to their left, they saw two buildings which seemed to be an abandoned dilapidated Company and warehouse.
The building looked ordinary and uninteresting, something that could be easily overlooked in that era, but since they were the closest buildings to them, Lei Shi and Leng Shi directly descended into the trees that they were flying over and dashed towards the abandoned Company's sealed entrance, they did it with the intention of using the trees to obstruct the view of their pursuers, so that their shots would be inaccurate, forgetting that Rank 6 HTB Armors provide X-Ray vision to their wielders, thereby rendering their efforts useless. But you couldn't blame them, they were under a lot of pressure.
*Bang*
BREAK
Leng Shi and Lei Shi broke through the dusty sealed door and rushed deeper into the building, reaching its second floor not after long.
*Zoom* the Carrier with the battalion reached the building to meet Malcolm and Gideon waiting and watching the building.
They didn't directly enter because they thought this building, as ordinary as it was, was Leng Shi and Lei Shi's secret hideout and may have some terrifying traps in it.
The battalion spread out and surrounded the building; Flame Lady too also took a side and stationed herself there, sealing all paths of retreat.
Meanwhile, Lei Shi and Leng Shi were inside the building, sweating like Christmas goats, wondering why there had been no movements from outside and why the death reaper hadn't come to take their souls.
As soon as they were done surrounding the building, Malcolm and Gideon dashed into the building, looking straight at where Leng Shi and Lei Shi were hiding using their X-Ray vision.
*Boom* they broke the ceiling and directly flew to the second floor startling Leng Shi and Lei Shi out of where they were hiding.
"Ahhhh" Leng Shi yelled and threw a ball, similar in size to a tennis ball, at them.
*Boom* the ball exploded and released blue fluid that submerged Malcolm and Gideon before it rapidly solidified till it was harder than ice.
*Crack*
*Shatter*
Malcolm and Gideon shattered the restrictions a second after it solidified, looking indomitable.
"Surrender" Malcolm said flatly, his words sounding like a divine edict.
"Fuck Off!" Leng Shi replied before he and Lei Shi jumped through the second floor's ceiling and arrived at the third floor.
What they saw when they landed on the third floor made them to be so surprised that their eyes looked like they were going to pop out of their sockets.
It was a teleportation portal, the last thing anyone would've expected to find in such a building.
Without delay, they dashed to it.
"Futile struggle at death's door" said Gideon before both he and Malcolm followed Leng Shi and Lei Shi to the second floor.
They saw Lei Shi and Leng Shi's struggle as a drowning man's futile attempt at survival, so, they didn't rush because there were any more floors after the third floor, even if in the past there were, there wasn't any now as they seemed to have been destroyed a long time ago.
The roof of the third floor actually wasn't its roof; rather, it was the wall of the higher floors which fell on the third floor, thereby becoming its roof. Malcolm didn't want to kill Leng Shi and Lei Shi because he wanted to get back all of Acme Company's stolen property without missing a single one, because there stood the chance that they had buried it somewhere.
Then again, he didn't immediately go for the kill at earlier times even though he had the chance to because he didn't want them to despair and self-detonate their HTB suits, ending their lives and destroying the stolen property or losing all leads to the location of the hidden stolen property, if they were buried somewhere.
Furthermore, he knew that Lei Shi and Leng Shi jumping through the third floor's roof and into the airspace above the roof would be tantamount to them falling into their trap and into the hands of the Rank 4 and Rank 5 HTB suit wielders stationed above the building, checkmating them.
But even though they had exhausted their HTB suits energy and didn't have to worry any longer about them self-detonating, he still decided to be careful.
On the other hand, Gideon didn't want to kill them because he wanted to torture them and make them live a life a worse than death before killing them.
*Boom*
They went through the second floor's roof and faced Leng Shi and Lei Shi. When they saw the teleportation portal, they were equally, if not more, shocked than the twins when they had seen it.
"Fuck" they had a bad feeling when they saw the teleportation portal beside Lei Shi and Leng Shi, even though they knew that it was nigh-impossible for the teleportation portal to work because it lacked the fortifications that modern teleportation portals had, together with how dusty and half-destroyed it looked, and lastly, because of its location, they couldn't stop that bad feeling from welling up inside of them. And now that they saw Leng Shi pulling down a lever, and the teleportation portal actually powering in up, they felt a terrifying sense of urgency descend upon them.
*Bamm* Malcolm and Gideon sprung after them, the force they used cracking the floor beneath them.
"Go to Hell!!!" Lei Shi threw a mine, similar to the one that he had used earlier to kill one of the two Kangaroo Corps fighters who were in-charge of restricting the movements of the Green Jade Mamba, at the rapidly approaching Malcolm and Gideon.
BOOM
Instead of shooting out a beam of electricity, it directly exploded, and the flames of its explosion were intense and crackled with electricity.
The explosion pushed back Malcolm and Gideon because they were air-borne; however, they once again pounced at them as soon as their feet touched the ground, this time with an even greater force, a force that outright shattered the floor beneath them.
However, some chances only ever come once.
*Whoosh*
The portal formed fully, not delaying in the slightest, and an intense suction force was released from it's core, drawing in everything within a few meters around it.
*Bamm*
Lei Shi and Leng Shi didn't just go with the flow, they directly jumped into it. They used all the remaining energy of their HTB suits to jump into the teleportation portal, not because they were afraid it won't accept them, but because they had to outrun not only Malcolm and Gideon who were trying to stop them but also to outrun the teleportation portal itself, because it was sucking in not only everything around it but also the parts which made up its frame.
*Whoosh* Leng Shi and Lei Shi were sucked into the portal.
BOOM
A millisecond later, the portal imploded, the force pushing Malcolm and Gideon back.
*Whoosh*
This time, Malcolm and Gideon didn't wait to touch the ground and directly flew to the control panel beside where the teleportation portal was.
Their aim was to check the coordinates of where Leng Shi and Lei Shi fled to, as it was usually written on all teleportation portals' control panels, the coordinates of transport objects before and after it was transported.
"What the..." the rest of the words never came out. Malcolm and Gideon were poleaxed, they didn't even know what to say after they read what was on the panel.
The screen on the control panel, where the destination of the teleportation was supposed to be written, had no numbers on it as teleportation portal control panels usually did, but instead had a single word written on it which ran 'UNDEFINED'.
