"The Rank 6 HTB Armor's newly added features are numerous."
"The First is the improved strength. The Rank 6 HTB Armor, on an average, provides ten times the strength of the Rank 5 HTB suit which provides three times the strength of the Rank 4 HTB suit. But in the case where the wielder gears his suit to be a power-type suit, the Rank 6 HTB Armor would be able to provide more than fifteen times the strength of a Rank 5 HTB suit."
"Second is the improved speed. The Rank 6 HTB Armor provides, on an average, seven times the speed provided by a Rank 5 HTB suit which provides three times the speed of a Rank 4 HTB suit, but in the case, similar to our current situation, where the wielder chooses to gear his HTB Armor to be a speed-type, the HTB suit would be able to provide over ten times the speed that a Rank 5 HTB suit provides."
"Third is an improved AI Monitor. The Rank 6 HTB Armor possesses a more advanced AI Monitor capable of making better calculated decisions. It possesses a larger memory, it has more human emotions, and the ability to perform more difficult tasks and solve problems.
"Fourth is improved Cruel Sun attack. The Rank 6 HTB Armor can create a bigger and more condensed Cruel Sun whose explosion is capable of annihilating anything and everything within a 10km radius, with the epicenter of the explosion being the most destructive.
"Fifth are improved elemental attacks. The Rank 6 HTB Armor increases the efficiency and destructiveness of the elemental attacks such as fire, ice, electricity, electromagnetism etc. used by the wielder, by directly increasing its power and also through using support weapons to amplify its effects.
"Sixth is the Vision of Appraisal. Other than having improved versions of the visions such as X-Ray, Infrared, Zoom that are already present in lower Ranked HTB suits, the Rank 6 HTB Armor has the Vision of Appraisal added to it. This vision is one that after using it to scan items and other objects, estimates their age and can even estimate the force behind punches and level of destruction an attack can cause."
"Seventh is improved defense"
"Eight is the self-repairing system. The Rank 6 HTB Armor has the ability to repair itself when it receives external damages, but only if compatible metals are brought as replacements to damaged parts."
"Last are general improvements to other features such as the suit's healing system, thruster navigation-ability, energy reserves and regeneration speed of the HTB suit's energy core and the in-suit temperature regulation"
Titania gave a comprehensive explanation of the new features of the Rank 6 HTB Armor, even using the Rank 4 HTB suit as a reference to help Lei Shi understand the level of improvements that it obtained.
"Damn..." Lei Shi was at a loss of words. He was amazed at how powerful a Rank 6 HTB Armor was and even more amazed at the newly added Vision of Appraisal. He immediately tried using it, but unfortunately, there was nothing to use it on, the desert sand was considered negligible and appraising the sun was out of the question.
Before long, he was brought down from his high spirits and plunged into terror when he remembered that he and Leng Shi almost fought two people, each with a suit on the same level as the suit he was currently wearing, and with weaker Rank 4 HTB suits at that.
"We've got guts" were the only words Lei Shi could tell himself, since he didn't want to call their actions stupid.
What still perplexed him was why they didn't directly kill him and Leng Shi, since they had such powerful suits, but he ended up throwing such thoughts to the back of his mind as he could find out why.
"Since you've made things this easy, then let's explore" "Let's find Leng Shi and conquer this new world while we're at it" Lei Shi said to Titania as he jumped into the air and flew in a random direction.
…
Lei Shi flew for about an hour without finding anything except for more sand.
Suddenly, at the side of his eye, he noticed something at his right.
Upon flying closer, he found the thing out to be a pond.
This pond contained water so clear that one could see the find sand particles at its bottom.
"Is this how an oasis looks like? I guess I am thirsty'" Lei Shi landed and walked closer to the pond.
"Rumble" right as he was about to touch the water, the sand beneath his feet rumbled.
BAMM
Before he could react, six triangular pillars arched out the sand and converged right at the airspace above the pond, sealing him in the space below it, blocking out even the sun rays.
WHOOSH
Simultaneously, the sand beneath his feet instantly became loose causing him to fall.
*Creep"*
As he fell, the bases of the pillars began converging; their peaks went between each other, closing the space in their center as the bases got closer.
*Crackle*
BANG
In the darkness, Lei Shi's saber, crackling with electricity, slammed between two pillars, destroying them and creating an opening from which Lei Shi flew out of.
"Whew, that was close!" Lei Shi sighed in relief as he flew to the side, creating some distance between him and the pillars. Only upon turning around to look at the pillars again, did he find out what they actually were.
Before him was a huge worm, yes, and those six pillars were its mandibles, and what he falling into earlier was its stomach. The Desert Worm had its mouth at the end of its body. Its mouth had numerous sharp teeth on every side of its interior. It was five-meters wide and had a length of more than twenty-meters.
Lei Shi couldn't tell its full length because he didn't how much of its body was left in the sand.
ROAR
The worm roared and sprung at Lei Shi.
The Desert Worm didn't seem to have eyes, yet it could see, surprising Lei Shi who was already dashing to the side to avoid being swallowed.
Right as he thought he had gotten out of harm's way, after having dodged the Desert Worms attack, the sand trembled and another opened maw shot at him, causing him to attack and strike its teeth with his saber. Another Desert Worm appeared.
*Rumble*
*Whoosh*
Before he knew it, another Desert Worm sprung at him from the ground "Damn" he cursed "Where do they keep coming from?" Lei Shi thought to himself, he didn't want to be cornered.
*Roar Roar*
Two more Desert Worms appeared and charged at him, once again blocking his path of escape.
"Fuck it! Since you don't want me to leave, then I won't leave. Besides, I was wondering what I was gonna eat for dinner!" Lei Shi swooped down with electricity crackling on his saber and hacked the neck of a Desert Worm after dodging its attack.
*Slash*
His saber cut cleanly through its neck, causing blood to spurt out.
*Hack*
Lei Shi cut through the stomach of the other, causing its intestine to sprawl over the Desert floor.
*Roar*
The death of those two Desert Worms seemed to infuriate the remaining Desert Worms that they roared and charged at Lei Shi.
*Roar Roar Roar*
Seven more Desert Worms came out of the desert sand and charged at Lei Shi, intent on devouring him.
"Damn, it's like there's no end to them. But if they think that they can overwhelm me with numbers, then they have made a great miscalculation" Lei Shi thought to himself before roaring "Come at me! I'll kill as many of you that come!" he powered up, his entire body crackled with electricity.
RUMBLE
Just after he killed three Desert Worms, the desert floor began trembling violently.
BOOM
ROOOAAAARR
Desert sand exploded into the air like a geyser, revealing a giant Desert Worm which released a heaven-shaking roar.
"Goddamn... I'm outta here! I'm not paid enough to deal with this kinda shit" Lei Shi sped away.
This Desert Worm had a head as big as a house, it was twenty-meters wide and at least a hundred meters long, with some parts of its body out in the open and some other parts still in buried in the sand, its hide looked much tougher and rougher than the previous Desert Worms.
Lei Shi flew at his top speed, throwing it off after it chased for a little while.
It wasn't that he was terrified of it, no; in fact he could kill it if he put in his greatest efforts. But what was the point? There was going to be no trophy for killing it nor was there even anyone to witness it.
Secondly, there was no guarantee that there weren't more Desert Worms of similar level to that giant Desert Worm.
Lastly, to kill it, he would end up using a lot of energy. That weakened state was one that he couldn't afford to be in, especially now that he didn't even really know where he was nor did he know what would come next.
