Chapter 34 - Chapter 13

Once Alex and Emma got upstairs, they saw another ghost ball. Then it flew down the hall, and Alex and Emma followed it. They followed the ghost ball to an elevator, and Alex tried to walk away, but Emma grabbed him and walked inside the elevator with the ghost ball. Alex said, "This is a bad idea." Emma said, "Will you relax? Where's your sense of adventure?" The ghost ball floated around one of the buttons, and Emma pushed it. Then the elevator closed, and they were taken up to the attic.

Meanwhile, the skeletons walked into the library and tried to see if anyone was inside. Bobby was hiding behind the sofa and saw the frameworks looking for them. Helga stood still with a lampshade on her head so the skeletons would think she was just a lamp. While hiding, the frameworks looked all over for them but couldn't find them. One bone structure saw Bobby's shadow on the wall behind the sofa, so he looked behind it. Once it did, it saw nobody was there. Bobby hid behind one of the bookshelves and climbed to its top so the skeletons wouldn't find him. Since the frameworks couldn't find anyone, they left the library and went to look for the kids. After the frameworks left, Bobby and Helga came out from hiding. Then Bobby leaned against a bust of Violet's master, and the head tilted up. Once it did, a secret passage behind one of the bookcases opened. Bobby tilted the bust's head back down, closing the secret passage. Then he leaned it back up, and the hidden route opened again.

Helga said, "Come on, I say we go in." Helga ran up to the secret passage, looked inside, and saw a hidden staircase going up. Bobby said, "Are you crazy?" Helga grabbed a three-branch candelabra with three lit candles and said, "No. I'm going in. And if you're smart, you'll come with me." Helga walked up the staircase and lit the tunnel with her candles. Then Bobby ran in and followed Helga up the stairs. Once both of them were in, someone tilted the statue's head down and shut the secret passage. Bobby turned around and saw the door shut. Then he banged on the wall, hoping the door would open. Bobby said, "We're trapped." Bobby ran up the tunnel and followed Helga up it.

Helga followed the secret passage with her candles to the top and found a hidden room. She opened the door at the top of the stairs and walked in. Once she did, a vampire hung upside down, wrapped in his cape, and Helga tried to remain calm when he saw him. The vampire opened his eyes, saw Helga, and growled at her. Then Helga screamed in terror, dropped her candles, ran off, and the vampire chased her. Helga ran through the secret room, trying to escape the vampire, but the vampire kept chasing her. The vampire chased Helga to the end of the room and a dead end. Once Helga arrived, she turned around and saw the vampire approaching her. Since Helga didn't want to get caught, she tried to find a way out. Helga leaned against the wall while thinking, and part of the wall opened. Helga pointed to the opening in the wall and said, "Looks like this is my only way out." Then Helga jumped in, and the side closed. Then she slid down a slide, and a piece of the wall in the pool room opened, causing her to fall out and land in the pool. Helga said, "Well, I got away from that vampire. I wonder where Bobby is."

Bobby was walking down the secret passage and kept calling Helga's name. Then he bumped into the vampire that chased Helga, and it growled at him. Bobby said, "OK, now I'm worried." Bobby ran for his life, but the vampire turned into a bat and flew after Bobby. Then Helga climbed out of the pool and wrapped herself in a towel. Helga said, "Wherever Bobby is, I hope he's just as safe as I am." When Bobby reached the dead end, he found the secret passage in the wall and jumped down the slide just like Helga did. Then Helga heard him coming, saw the side open, and watched as Bobby landed in the pool just like she had. Helga said, "Nice splash." Once the vampire reached the dead end, he lost Bobby's trail. Then Bobby climbed out of the pool and wrapped himself in a towel just like Helga did.

Meanwhile, Mike and Lou were hiding under the table in the kitchen. Lou whispered, "So, what do we do now?" Mike whispered, "We hide here until they go away." Lou whispered, "That's your plan? That's so cowardly." Mike whispered, "I suppose you have a better idea." The sludge monster lifted the table and found Mike and Lou. Lou said, "Yes. Run." Mike and Lou ran out of the kitchen to escape the sludge monster, but they saw the skeletons once they entered the living room. Then they ran upstairs, and the frameworks and the sludge monster chased them.

Meanwhile, Pablo, Sam, and Violet hid from the skeletons and the monster. While hiding, they searched the spell book for some way to stop this. Violet said, "The banishing spell is in there somewhere." Sam said, "But it's so big, and over a hundred pages exist. How are we going to find one specific spell in here?" Violet said, "Even if you did find it, you couldn't say it. Only a witch or a Wiccan can use this book." Sam said, "Well, maybe some easy spells are in here. Ones that even mortals can use." Violet said, "Unlikely. The book is useless to a mortal." Sam closed the book, but a mysterious force started to pull the book out of her hands once she did. Once it did, the book floated up to the ghost of the witch. Pablo said, "Oh no, it's Sarah." Sarah said, "Yes, and now that I have my book, I can read from it and make you join me and the other ghosts here." Sam said, "I wouldn't be so sure about that. Violet, now." Violet jumped out from behind Sarah and knocked the book out of her hands. Then Pablo picked it up, and they ran off with it.
