The girl to Subaru's left was many things, kind, beautiful, funny, up beat. Subaru enjoyed her presence, even if they've been walking alongside each other for roughly half an hour.
"Look there" The purple haired girl, Ana, pointed to a large building with multiple decorations. The building itself was definitely Japanese in origin. Sliding doors, sharply curved roofs with under layers, with other traditional aspects, was this really another world? Or just an off brand Japan?
"Hmm, what about it?" Subaru asked the girl in an allured tone
"That's where Hoshin of the Wastes first lived when he came to this city, it quite the tourist spot ya'know?" Ana added in an joyful tone
"Is it now?" Subaru put his hand to his chin, "Would you like to go?"
"ahh" The violet induced girl put her pointer finger to her chin before quickly looking back to the raven-haired boy, "Well I'd love to, but could ya even afford a thing like that?" She teased at him with a smile
"Ana-Tan how could you remind me of my short comings at such a tender moment?!" Subaru raised his hands to the air in a fake pitiful gesture
"Ya poor thing" The green-eyed girl giggled at the boy's antics, "but ya know, it's alright, I could pay for us?" Ana proceeded with an offer
Subaru now feeling flustered would quickly dismiss the offer, "Aha- It's… alright, Im sure I'll be able to pay for myself one day, you'll just have to wait for me till then!" Subaru exclaimed confidently
"Wait for ya? why would a' lady like myself do that?" Ana tilted to the side forwards, looking at the black clocked boy with a confused face
"Wait seriously?!" Subaru was in awe, why was this girl being mean all of the sudden?!
The purpled haired girl grew a large smile, it was now evident she was teasing Subaru, "Relax" She giggled, "Im only messin with ya, I'd love to go out with ya in the future"
Subaru quickly grew a blush on his face, put his hand to the back of his head, Ana paused before growing a large blush as well, "I didn't mean it in that way-"
Subaru quickly responded, "Don't tease like that Ana-Tan.. you'll fracture a young boys heart-"
"Fuufuu, isn't this jussssst quite the coincidence?"
"Huh?" Subaru turned his head to face a tall lengthy man, light blue hair, with matching doll eyes in color, he was pale sporting white clothing with multiple azure underlines
"Who are you-" But the raven-haired boy was cut off
"Rolan, just what in the sages name are ya doin here?" The purple haired girl to Subaru's side spoke butting into his own question
The man in question, Rolan, smiled, his long face revealing sharp fangs, "Weeeeeell, Miss Hoshin, I got booooored of waiting for results and decided to do a bit offff… Field Work"
Subaru still as confused looked back to Ana, side tracked he brushed off the fact that the girl had just been referred to as Hoshin
"Results? Man can ya wait even a week? I swear ya Mathers are always up to somthin" Ana noted putting her right hand upwards, pointing her finger at the white cladded man
"It jussssst can't be helped, but I assure you… You should much prefer me over my Lugnican counterparts" The man's persona was obviously fake, so fake in fact that Subaru kept his guard up, didn't know the guy but he was suspicious as hell
"Is that a threat?" The violet girl continued with a poker face
"But offff course not, whaaaat type of businessman threatens hisssss partner?" Rolan kept his smile
"That would be quite the predicament for ya, wouldn't it?" Ana continued
"Hm, weeeeell, it would certainly have its up and downs, but, I'd do more good by behaving wouldn't I?" The man asked in an satisfied tone
Ana shook her head, "Really what's with ya?" The girl sighed, "Just don't try and test anyone?"
"Noted" The man replied cheerfully
"Everything good then?" Subaru finally joined the conversation, just as it had concluded, this surprised the two business partners though as they had neglected the raven-haired youth during their own antics
"Yeah its fine-", but Ana was cut off
"Annnnnnd who might youuu be?" The man now gazed upon Subaru, his ice like eyes instantly cutting through the boys defences
"Me- well, im" The man walked up, closer to Subaru till he was face to face with the raven youth, he bent down ever so slightly, his eyes never changed in concentration as he looked towards Subaru's own
"Youuu.." The man bearing vibrant blue hair paused for a moment, almost in awe he took a breath back
"Im?" Subaru still confused
"Youuuur quite the enigma!" The man exclaimed, quickly moving back to his feet he had a sheer look of glee
"Wait what?!" Subaru dazed struggled to understand the man, "What dp you mean by enigma?!"
"Welllllll" The mans face had a glimmer of sadistic tendencies for just a brief moment, a moment so brief however Subaru hadn't hesitated, getting into a ready posture should the man do something
"Rolan.." To his side, Ana grew wearily, putting her hand on Subaru's left shoulder, it was a grip of confidence almost telling Subaru "If this guy tries to do something I got you"
The man began to laugh, the two now started to gain looks from the crowd of passers
"Just who the hell is this-" But Subaru was cut off once more
"Too think that the greeeeat Anastasia Hoshin would find a suiter sooo sooon, what a wonderful day!" The man laughed as he announced his view on the two
"Wait what?!" The pair replied in unison, shocked as they looked at the eccentric man covered in blue and white
"and the too reply in unisoooon~, truly this discoveryyy delights me!" The man wouldn't stop
Both Ana and Subaru were embarrassed, not for each other but for the man in front of them, just who creates a conversation like that?!
Damnit! Why couldn't she keep her poker face, out of all the times for her confidence to betray her, why now? And why around Rolan of all people?!
She hated that she was sitting by idle as her face turned beat red, (I gotta say somthin before this get's anymore akward-)
Rolan looked to the two calming down a bit, "Well I~ guessed it right didn't I?" He had a satisfied smile
But to his achievement, the duo looked at him with dead eyes
"Hey c'mon, doooont beeee like thattt~" The man added
"Guessed what right?!" Subaru finally spoke, "I haven't even known Ana-Tan that long! How can I be her suiter?!"
Rolan's smile continued, "Nicknames hmmm, buttttt isn't that a sign of closeness or fondness of two? Im sureeee your relationship is soooomething liiiiike that?"
"Relationship…" Subaru replied pausing
"Our relationship aint nothin but that of servant and lady" Anasatasia spoke up once more, her confidence returning
Rolans smile quickly turned to a frown, "Waiiiiit, seriouslllly?"
"Of course, you'd think I'd get engaged at a time like this, with an unremarkable kid like him?" She didn't want to cut Subaru as deeply as she did, her intention was to get rid of Rolan for now, not push away Subaru while in the process. She made a promise that she would apologize to the eccentric boy in due time
"Ana.." Subaru paused for a moment
Even Rolan was taken back by how mean the fox merchant had just been
Anastasia looked to Subaru, sighing but as she was too make her calculated reply, however the raven themed boy beat her
"Servant?! You gotta be kidding me, since when?!" The boy roared
"Huh?" was all the green-eyed merchant could muster
"Huh what?! If I knew our deal was going to be this one sided I swear I would have never agreed!" The boy continued, pointing an angry thumb to his chest
"deal?" but this time Anastasia was joined in with Rolan as they looked to the boy in a confused unison
"Yeah that right worst mistake in my life!" The boy continued
(Deal, what deal? Had Anastasia missed a beat, but as her brain started to turn for answers she realized just what the boy was up too!)
"Well if that's the case, why don't we just cancel things!" Anastasia retorted in an acted reply
"You wouldn't dare!" Subaru continued
"But I would!" Anastasia smiled a bit, the act was going surprisingly well, it was believable
"Oh myyyy" Rolan paused for a second, "It appppears I have had the wrong assumption?"
"Obviously dickhead-" Subaru attempted to reply rudely, but it was not the attention of Subaru's that Rolan would grab, or vice versa, but instead that of an attention so much more sinister
The two could both feel it, the evil, the crazed daze, as it looked directly to the group. Anastasia couldn't sense a thing, she was powerless in such a situation, only her spirit could alert her of the danger before hand
"My my, but too argue on such a lovely day, how truly slothfull, too feel for one and other, too want one another, but too put on an act, and behave in such manners, truly a questionable situation, des!"
A chill was sent down everything and anything that could breathe within vocal range of the speaker, to the front of the group, with Hoshin's house behind him, stood a crazed man
His teeth, rotten
His bowl cut green hair, full of grease
His skin, revolting
Everything about the man disgusted the three, and the archaic words he used, the feeling was only resubmitted
"Ah but too look at me in such a way, without knowing my name, or without action, truly how meanicing, to assume nothing but the worst, truly, truly, very Slothful!"
Out of the three, Rolan was the first to step forward, his easygoing, eccentric persona now disappearing as he looked to the man in front of the group
"You cant happen to be…" He paused almost chocking, "Betelgeuse romanee-conti, the Sin Archbishop of Sloth?"
The Sin Archbishop grew a large sadistic smile as his name was announced
