Chapter 9 - Passion by flame

Interlude: Passion by the Flame

All at once the sword silenced, for no longer did it speak to the Sword Saint. After a while Reinhard begin to grow both suspicious, concerned even. Of course, he still bore the Divine protection of the Sword Saint, still able to predict his enemies' movements and strike in the most proficient methods, but it left the young knight stunned.

Had the sword God lost interest in Reinhard?

Was he not good enough as to let the god down? or perhaps, he was too good? and being the monster he was, finally managed to scare his ancestor away?

It drove the fiery flame that inherited the title of his grandmother too many questions, those of self-doubt and loathing.

"Neow, just what's this~?" Felix, the greatest healer in Lugnica, and one of the Sword saint's best friends, interrupted Reinhard's intense thought

"Hmm?" Reinhard stared back at Felix

"Neow don't give a cowld look~ mew're going to scare me off!" The catboy that acted like a girl teased the sky-blue eyed knight

"Ah, my apologize Ferris, I was preoccupied and was taken aback" The red-head replied genuinely

Ferris raised his brows as he moved in closer, "It's alright, mew muswst have reasons for awcting so distantly? Did something about to mew Reinhard?"

Reinhard opened his mouth for a second, about to explain his troubles to his demi-human friend but then he remembered, Ferris wouldn't understand, no one but the strongest could, and to that the red-head sighed, "It's nothing Ferris, I assure you, I just happened to get caught up on something rather foolish" He smiled

"Ah, alright, whatever mew say Rienhard~" The demi human boy sporting cat ears got up and begain to head outside the building before pausing at the entrance, "and one last thing before I leave"

Reinhard looked back up, now gazing at Ferris

"Have mew ever heard of the Kararagi city Okusanai neow?"

"Prisca, it's quite the interesting tale, in a short span of two days Kagaragi's been put on edge" The man, no not just a man, the Emperor of Vollachia, the man who waged a brutal war against his siblings, the man who rose to the top of his country in a relatively short time period, a man so great he'd have the Sword Saint bow before him, this man was Vincent Vollachia.

To his wording, a woman enveloped in red, with long orange hair that shun like that sun itself. Her hair was in a barrette, and she was of average height for a woman her age. Perhaps the largest highlight of the women had been her, well, …chest, but knowing her status there was much more to her. She had blood crimson eyes, skin as pale as snow, and was considered too be a divine beauty. She was Prisca Bennet, now known as Priscilla, and was the half-sister to the emperor.

The girl smiled for a mere second, "It is quite unexpected, for a dragon sword to be taken out of nowhere"

"It is, better yet, he who took the sword was quite the enigma, our spies noted strange clothing, mean eyes, and odd behavior" Vincent replied musing to himself as his spies were the fastest of the four nations, relying on information quick and efficiently.

Priscilla looked to her half-brother, "So the boy was an idiot?"

"partially" The emperor cladded in a deep red paused for a moment, "But that leads me to believe there's more to it than the boy being just an idiot?"

The fiery girl nodded, "So you plan on keeping an eye for the boy?"

"If he shows potential" Vincent replied sternly, "Afterall if he proves a great enough of a threat, so much so that he could challenge even Cecilus, then I'm sure watching the boy for now would be justified"

His half-sister nodded, acknowledging her brothers' words, Priscilla had gained a slight interest on the topic. Afterall an unexpected event, caused by a precarious boy, surely it was a story worth watching

"Yes yes, the sword is gone!"

"Oh I know that, why do you mention it?"

"Because, it makes sense!"

"No it doesn't!"

"but why not?"

"ugh, just don't get caught up with that man again!"

"Will do, but could I at least watch?"

"Fine, but do not intervene, for if he finds you, big brother will undoubtedly be sad!"

"You make me sigh! How despicable!"

"Silence"

"Fine…"

Too that the two figures cloaked in white sheets ended their banter, watching from the highest of buildings both curiously gazed out.

"What a fine day to watch the sunset? Yes?"
