-Blurp!
Finishing the huge platter, Noah felt both bloated and energized at the same time. It was an odd feeling just like everything else that was present in this world.
He then prayed as usual to the Goddess, to which there was little meaning to him.
[Daily Routine Task: You have obtained +50 Karma]
But the extra Karma he usually got was increasing steadily for some reason, and he couldn't miss that for now. Especially after he had eaten something worth more than this.
-Blurp!
He then changed into a new set of dress and then walked to the place where he was going to take today's quest as usual.
"Are you sure there is nothing can be done?"
"I am sorry. All the priests are already busy. And even if they were here, I doubt they would be willing to take on such a task."(Yuno)
Reaching close to the area, Noah heard Yuna's voice. She seems to be talking to another girl inside the room.
-Knock! Knock!
"Yuna. It's Elios. I have come to take today's tasks."(Noah)
Being polite as usual, Noah knocked first and then waited for her to speak. Normally he would have entered after a knock but since there was already someone inside, he decided to be formal for now.
"Come inside, Elios."(Yuna)
And with that, Noah walked inside the room finding a woman in his early 20s wearing a red dress. Her skin tone was a bit darker than the usual people he had seen in this world, but her beauty still compared to the best of the people present he had known. Her brown hair also complemented the vibrant blue eyes she had.
"Elios. Here are your tasks for the day. A total of 50 packed just for you."(Yuna)
Yuna smiled, ignoring that woman, and looked at me with a smile on her face.
"Hey, Yuna! Didn't you say that there were no priests available?"(??)
"Aisha. He is an acolyte, not a priest. He has come here to do some common tasks for the day."(Yuna)
Aisha, the blue eyes girl, observed me and then the bundles that Yuna prepared for a few seconds. And then with a narrowed expression she then looked at Yuna and doubtfully asked,
"Acolyte?"(Aisha)
"Yes."(Yuna)
"50 tasks for the day?"(Aisha)
"Yes."(Yuna)
"Acolyte?"(Aisha)
"Yes."(Yuna)
"…"(Aisha)
"Yes."(Yuna)
Noah observed their expression for a few seconds before moving towards the bundle and began picking up, while Aisha simply was amused to see him doing that. But then pondering about something, she asked,
"Hey, Acolyte. Want to do some extra work instead of those bundles? I can pay you twice the combined of what you can earn from that."(Aisha)
Aisha was pretty confident until…
"Those are charity works, Aisha."(Yuna)
"…"(Aisha)
"…"(Noah)
[…](Elios)
"I'll be taking my leave now," Noah bowed politely before taking a step away from there as he put that bundle of tasks into his pocket.
"Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait! What do you mean by that? You are going to do THAT much of a charity? Why? I don't understand!"(Aisha)
Honestly speaking, Noah didn't have to explain anything to her. He could have just walked away from here without doing anything. But it would be a lie to say that he wasn't intrigued with the task that Aisha had brought.
It could possibly allow him to earn both a lot of Karma and Money at the same time. He needed them a bit, especially since his demon hunts had come to a pause for a while now.
"It has nothing to do with you, Aisha."(Yuna)
It was Yuna that spoke first, while she looked at Noah. And then looking at Noah's expression she politely said,
"Well. She wanted the help of a bunch of priests to help purify the well outside the west wall. It would have taken about a dozen people for that, but somehow today everyone turned out to be busy. Plus the task also requires a lot of time since purifying the water of the entire west side isn't an easy task."(Yuna)
Yuna was smart. She knew that Noah would be interested in the task since Aisha was ready to throw a lot of money into it. But then again, it also made him confused. If the water was contaminated, doesn't that mean that it will be problematic for others as well?
[Most of the people here have a purifying essence or a special tap that gets charged by the priest on a weekly basis. It would purify all the water that goes through that tap, or the bucket in which the essence has been put into. Though it is also a tad bit costly so not all can afford it, especially the poor ones that live outside the city.](Elios)
'Something like an RO Purifier, huh?'(Noah)
Noah then looked at the bundle in his bracelet for a few seconds and noticed that he was going to do charity work in the west for today. And then pondering about it again, he looked at Aisha as he spoke,
"I can't do too much. But I can do enough so that people won't have a problem for today."
"Thank you-"
"10 Silver per 30 minutes."(Noah)
It was neither too much nor too less. But Aisha didn't seem to mind this much amount as she happily nodded as she spoke,
"All right. When will you go?"(Aisha)
Noah then showed his bracelet filled with all the tasks before speaking,"as soon as I am done with the task. So… that should be about mid afternoon, or a tad bit later than that."
At first Aisha was perplexed since there were so many tasks, but when she heard that he was going to finish them all within the next few hours… She was both intrigued and baffled. She analyzed the confident face of Noah before looking at Yuna who didn't seem to be taken aback by it.
Then, with a slightly excited voice, Aisha spoke out,
"Can I tag along with you?"
Noah simply nodded at her since she was the one going to pay him for today. But still, he had one thought on his mind.
'Are the people always so free in this world?'(Noah)
