While Noah soundly slept through the night, Elios started working harder in the white room.
His aim was simple, that is, to improve the [Self-Heal] skill to a new level. Or at least to derive it into something that can help Noah in his current condition.
So he started with analysing the books that Noah had brought into the white room from the library.
There were 20 books related to [heal], out of which only 3 primarily focused on Self-Heal. But Elios had to read them all in order to completely understand how healing works and how to create something that works for Noah the best.
'This is troubling. But…'(Elios)
There were many new variables within the book. Things that were left incomplete or were just hypotheses that weren't proved yet. Since most people didn't delve too much into [Self-Heal], the concept was pretty much not touched as much as the others.
But when it came to research, Elios had an unfair advantage over the other mages. That is the white room. A conceptual room where he can do anything without any drawbacks. Something that was akin to heaven for many.
He then started creating [Vegetative Plants] using the system, since they were the closest living thing that he could bring into this world. Elios did try to use the spell [Craft] to craft a miniature living being or even a living tissue, but unfortunately they simply turned into a non-living matter without showing any visible movements.
Anyways, Elios focused on the plants and started healing them one by one, over and over using the heal spell, and then tried applying the self healing on them as well. For practice, he tried using a couple of [Self-Heal] from the system to see and compare the effects.
Some worked, others didn't.
Collecting that data and then moving to correct them using the unconfirmed theories present there. He did it with all those which were possible before gaining a slight understanding of the spell.
And once he was briefly done with all the spells and the theories written in the books, he then moved to the very first circle present there.
'Create 10,000 Plants.'(Elios)
Creating those many plants, Elios then created a program of sorts that algorithmically changed the design of the circle such that there were at least 10,000 variations of it.
With the click of a finger, then Elios activated all the circles at once.
-Boom!
-Bam!
-Swish!
…
Because of the variations, some circles failed to work while others simply destroyed the plants. Some of the circles lit the plants in fire, while the others made them wither within minutes. And then as he searched for the ones that seemed to be successful, he brought them closer to him to study their effects.
And then noting the one that succeeded, he clicked once again creating about 10,000 more based on the same results with another slight variation keeping the previous one intact.
The process was fast, the results were obtained and verified within minutes before the next experiment could be done. But the obtained results showed miniscule improvements so Elios had to try this for at least a dozen times before finding something closer to what he needed.
He tried and tried and tried for over a 100 times, and the next 1000 times, until he was satisfied with what he found. The results not only allowed him to understand the concept of healing but also the circles and their foundation.
Many things which were a mystery to him before became much easier to understand now.
And with those results, he moved to the next spell circle, repeating the same thing once again… until he got something that he felt satisfied with.
There were at least 200 spells within those 200 books, and Elios planned to finish it all as soon as possible while also trying to get the maximum results from it.
The beginning was slow, but as time passed, things became easier as Elios now understood what would surely be a failure, the reason for its failure, and how to correct it. He could not only cast healing magic, but also fire, earth, wind and lightning magic, without needing to completely change the circle. He just needed to make minor alterations here and there, and the 'failures' of the circle would produce the result that he wanted.
Time passed both slowly and fast for Elios as he reached the 78th spell, a spell that was almost similar to heal but also focuses on children more than the adults. His eyes looked at the time and he yawned before focusing on Noah, he called him out.
[Noah! Wake up! It's morning!](Elios)
Even though it was just a message, it usually alerted Noah, waking him up completely from the get go. But looking at the expression of Noah who seemed to be in excess pain, Elios just chuckled before he pondered something and then bought a spell from the shop.
[You have bought Digestive Energy Conversion(F) for 50 Karma!]
[Digestive Energy Conversion(F)
Effects: Allows the user to convert 10% of the food he digests into Energy!]
A passive skill that he obtained in the experiments today that would work even if neither Noah or Elios did something. This should also help him cope up with the pain without using any active skills with mana.
[Your Side Job Reacts!]
[Gluttony(F)
Effects: Allows the user to convert 10% of whatever he eats into MP and HP!]
And of course, an ominous sounding skill that had almost similar but great effects along with it.
[You have created a Cooked and Barbecued Desert Ostrach for 70 Karma!]
It was a huge platter of food that would be enough to feed 5 hungry men that were starving for days. But for now, Elios believed that Noah could gulp that all by himself.
And true to that, Noah began eating it all without any pause while Elios smiled before continuing with the experiments from where he left off.
Smiling and humming as he looked at the next set of plants on which he was about to do the experiments on.
