Chapter 242 - Chapter 242: Equal Match, Victory Through Chaos!

So many eyes were staring at each other. Any one of them could've been Kaitō Kid—or none of them were.

"Damn it. Kaitō Kid's disguise technique is flawless. With this many people around, there's no way to tell who he's pretending to be!"

Leo knew exactly how capable Kaitō Kid was. But even knowing that, even understanding him inside and out, he still had no way to break through it. There was nothing he could do.

Just then, murmurs of doubt began to ripple through the crowd.

[What's going on with Director Leo? What's he looking at?]

[Shit! Kaitō Kid's disguises are so good—how is Leo supposed to find him just by looking?!]

[Oh my god! In the blink of an eye, Kaitō Kid already took down three drones! Total domination!]

[Hah, looks like even Director Leo is helpless against Kaitō Kid!]

[No one even knows if Kaitō Kid is the one who brought down those drones. So how are they gonna find him?]

Up front, the media cameras were broadcasting live to the entire world.

Far away in Britain, Harrison was watching the livestream closely, eyebrows furrowed as he analyzed Leo's every move.

"Leo's definitely scanning for signs of Kaitō Kid. Keeping calm is the smartest move right now."

"If he panics, that's exactly what Kaitō Kid wants."

Thinking back to working with Victor, and comparing it to Leo's current response—it was a night-and-day difference.

That said, the British higher-ups hadn't ordered Harrison to head to Country D. His superiors were still letting him keep his original position.

Meanwhile, at the Country D airport, Holmeska rushed out as soon as he landed, heading straight for the Text Museum without delay.

He pulled up the livestream on his phone. Seeing Leo still at the museum entrance, he let out a quiet sigh of relief.

"Good thing I'm not too late. Kaitō Kid hasn't shown himself yet!"

But looking at the wrecked drones in Leo's hands and the grim look on his face, Holmeska could tell—Kaitō Kid hadn't been seen yet, but he had already made his move.

Holmeska urged the driver to speed up, doing everything he could to reach the museum before Kaitō Kid appeared.

From the crowd, Zhang Yang watched Leo. That rock-solid calm made Zhang Yang realize this opponent was way steadier than Victor had ever been.

"This Director Leo is interesting. He doesn't flinch at the usual tricks!"

If the other guy didn't fall into chaos, where was Zhang Yang supposed to find an opening?

But facing this new opponent, Zhang Yang wasn't in a rush to make a move.

'He's definitely waiting for me to stir up chaos.'

Zhang Yang could guess roughly what Leo had planned.

After all, he'd been through countless operations across different countries. And most of the time, his wins came from turning chaos into opportunity.

Only four drones had been launched. In a flash, three were already destroyed.

If it were Victor, he would've lost it by now.

But Leo didn't even blink. It was clear—he was waiting, already prepared for chaos to break loose.

Zhang Yang quietly slipped out of the crowd and returned to his car to change into a BND tactical uniform.

The Magical Wardrobe of Kaitō Kid could give him any outfit. Now, Zhang Yang looked no different from the actual BND agents guarding the museum.

Since Leo wasn't reacting to chaos, Zhang Yang had no plans to stir any up.

The museum was crawling with BND agents. Zhang Yang didn't believe Leo could memorize every single operative involved in the mission.

And once inside, disguised as a BND agent, it'd be way easier to search for the Shang Dynasty bronze axe.

By now, the area around the museum was completely packed. It felt like the crowd at a full-blown concert.

Zhang Yang avoided the main gate where Leo was stationed and worked his way around the side, pushing through the crowd until he reached the human wall formed by the Enforcement Bureau officers.

"No sign of Kaitō Kid nearby," Zhang Yang said, shaking his head.

Without asking a thing, the Enforcement Bureau immediately let him through.

At this moment, Zhang Yang was wearing a BND agent uniform. They all assumed he was just another operative searching the crowd for Kaitō Kid.

That had been the only thing standing between him and the museum. And now, he'd gotten through without any effort at all.

"Sometimes, you really do need to be extra careful."

The corner of Zhang Yang's mouth curled slightly as he glanced up at the last drone in the night sky.

He had no plans to let that one off the hook either. If he didn't take it down now, it could become a problem when he needed to escape.

Like he said—sometimes caution is everything. Even the tiniest risk couldn't be allowed.

As he walked toward the museum, he flipped a red playing card from his hand and snapped his wrist.

The card flew so fast it vanished from sight. A second later, the drone spun wildly and crashed to the ground at the museum entrance.

With that last drone taken out, the crowd erupted in another wave of gasps and shouts.

The rumors about Kaitō Kid being nearby had just been confirmed.

[Oh my god! All four drones are down!]

[Country D's tech doesn't just fail all at once. Kaitō Kid must've taken them out!]

[Shit! Where is he?! How did he even do it? No one saw a card at all!]

[Director Leo looks pissed. Kaitō Kid really lives up to his name—always one step ahead!]

[Calling it now—Director Leo's probably going down tonight as another of Kaitō Kid's losses!]

After the final drone was destroyed, Leo finally sprang into action.

He ordered over a dozen agents and more than twenty enforcers to comb through the crowd for suspicious targets.

"Fuck! Kaitō Kid's definitely in there somewhere. I'm sure of it!"

Five minutes ago, Zhang Yang had indeed been in that crowd.

But Leo's timing was off now—Zhang Yang was already inside the museum, moving just like the other BND agents, already searching for the bronze axe.

He headed straight for the Dragon Nation exhibit without hesitation.

"Leo's no joke. There are way more agents posted here than in the other halls."

Kaitō Kid's obsession with Dragon Nation relics wasn't a secret anymore.

That's why Leo had stationed extra guards around the Dragon Nation artifacts.

Zhang Yang noticed it the moment he walked in.

With this many people watching, there was almost no chance of grabbing the bronze axe unnoticed.

"Everyone here's armed. And Leo's still outside. I've gotta be quick!"

Zhang Yang spotted the bronze axe's display case and started calculating his timing and exit strategy.

"One minute. I've got one minute max to slip out of their sight!"

He leaned casually near the bronze axe exhibit, eyes scanning every move the surrounding BND agents made.

"If Leo knew to put more people here, he's definitely guessed my target is the Dragon Nation collection. Even if I cause chaos or set up a distraction, they probably won't budge."

After thinking it through carefully, Zhang Yang decided he had to take a risk.

If he used any other method, it probably wouldn't work well—and worse, it might spook them into locking the place down tighter.
