Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Martial Soul Awakening

Chapter 1: Martial Soul Awakening

Fasno Province, north of Nuoding City, Red Maple Village, Spirit Hall.

Though called Spirit Hall, it was actually just a small house.

Inside the Spirit Hall, stood a row of young children, all looking anxious and uneasy, but one by one they were called by name by the noble Soul Master adult in front of them to awaken their Martial Soul.

"Hoe, no Soul Power."

"Blue Silver Grass, a standard trash Martial Soul, it's superfluous to even test for Soul Power."

Although Su Yuntao looked impatient, he still handed over the crystal ball for testing Soul Power.

"Put your hand on it, let me see... no Soul Power, next one..."

"Radish, if you had Soul Power, you could be a food system Soul Master, what a pity... you don't."

This was the Douluo Continent. Everyone had a Martial Soul, but from the moment their Martial Soul awakened, everyone was divided into different grades based on the level of their Soul Power.

As long as one possessed Soul Power, even the most insignificant Level 1 Soul Power, they could be called a Soul Master adult.

If there was no Soul Power, then one could only struggle at the bottom for their entire life.

This was the iron rule of this World.

"Next..."

Su Yuntao looked tired. Presiding over the Martial Soul awakening of so many children was no small burden for him, a Spirit Grandmaster. Fortunately, only one was left.

When the last child walked over, Su Yuntao raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise flashing across his face.

Because this boy looked delicate, but his face had a large area of red scar tissue, like flames extending from his forehead to half his face.

However, this scar wasn't unsightly; instead, it gave the boy a unique demeanor.

"Lin Yang, right... stand in the center of the magic array."

Lin Yang walked into the center of the six stones on the ground and stood firm.

Su Yuntao injected his Soul Power into the magic array, and the six stones on the ground emitted a faint glow.

At the same time, Lin Yang felt an incredibly gentle warm current flowing through his body, coursing through his limbs and bones, finally transforming into two streaks of light that rushed towards his left and right hands respectively.

Swish!

A jet-black long blade suddenly appeared in Lin Yang's hand. The blade was about a meter long, its edge glinting with cold light, appearing slender and sharp. A circular hollow tsuba connected the blade and the hilt.

Near the tsuba, on the blade, the four characters "destroyer of evil demons" were faintly engraved.

The moment he saw these four characters, his mind seemed to open a certain door with a "boom," and a massive torrent of memories suddenly appeared in Lin Yang's mind.

Blue Star... demon slayer... Sun Breathing... Infinity Castle Final Battle... scenes of past memory fragments quickly flowed through his mind.

He remembered, Lin Yang's pupils slightly dilated.

He was a transmigrator, but at first, he transmigrated to the Demon Slayer World. After encountering demons, he was rescued by the Demon Slayer Corps, and he naturally joined the Demon Slayer Corps.

With his foresight and extraordinary talent, he learned Sun Breathing from Kamado Tanjuro, then Slaying evil spirits all the way, rising to become the Sun Hashira.

He naturally activated the demon slayer's triple threat: Nichirin Blade, Demon Slayer Mark, and Transparent World.

Finally, he outsmarted Kibutsuji Muzan, initiated the Infinity Castle Final Battle, and with the combined efforts of other Hashira, allowed Muzan, that "scum demon," to bask in the sun, achieving a happy ending.

He even achieved the accomplishment of being "a loving family" with the Kochou sisters.

He just didn't expect that after his death at the age of twenty-five, he would start a third playthrough, transmigrating to the Douluo Continent.

His body seemed to still be his, but it had regressed to that of an infant.

He was very fortunate to be taken in and raised by an old woman in Red Maple Village.

The memories of his first and second playthroughs were sealed due to his weak body, which made him no different from other children for the past six years.

It wasn't until this Martial Soul awakening that he recalled everything from his past.

And his Martial Soul was his Nichirin Blade, "Scarlet Edge."

However, he could clearly sense that he had another Martial Soul appearing.

It was twin spirits! Wouldn't he immediately soar to greatness?

"It's actually a blade..."

Su Yuntao looked at the one-meter-long Nichirin Blade in Lin Yang's hand, a glimmer of light in his eyes. This blade looked extraordinary; perhaps it had Soul Power.

"Come, let's test your Soul Power."

Saying that, he handed over the crystal ball: "Put your hand on it, relax completely."

Lin Yang had now awakened from the memory surge and subtly placed his hand on the crystal ball.

Upon contact, a suction force erupted from within the crystal ball, and the warm current in his body uncontrollably surged into the crystal ball.

The next second, the crystal ball suddenly lit up.

"Indeed, there's Soul Power," Su Yuntao's eyes immediately brightened.

"Not bad, actually five levels of innate spirit power, quite a small genius."

Lin Yang slightly raised an eyebrow; he felt his innate spirit power was more than five levels.

Of course, he certainly wouldn't say that in front of Su Yuntao.

"Lin Yang, congratulations on having five levels of Soul Power. You must cultivate diligently; in the future, you might become a Spirit King."

After speaking, Su Yuntao eagerly asked,

"Are you interested in joining the Spirit Hall like big brother?"

Lin Yang scratched the back of his head, bewildered: "This... I have to go back and ask my grandma..."

"Right."

Su Yuntao couldn't help but inwardly curse his impatience. What could he expect from a six-year-old child? He probably didn't even know what Spirit Hall did.

It was understandable; after awakening Martial Souls in several villages, besides Lin Yang, there wasn't a single promising candidate who could become a Soul Master.

If he could find good prospects within his jurisdiction, he would also receive many benefits.

"Let's go, we'll go see your grandma first."

As the door opened, Red Maple Village's Village Chief Tai Lon darted forward, his movements so nimble that he hardly seemed like a fifty or sixty-year-old man.

"Master Su, has anyone in our village awakened Soul Power this year?"

"Congratulations, you've found a good prospect," Su Yuntao pushed Lin Yang forward slightly.

"Five levels of innate spirit power, and his Martial Soul is a blade."

"Five levels, oh my heavens!"

The Village Chief's expression jolted, his eyes fixed on Lin Yang, murmuring, "Good, good, my Red Maple Village has finally produced a good prospect."

Meanwhile, the surrounding villagers inevitably showed a hint of disappointment and envy.

They knew that Lin Yang's future would be completely different from that of their children.

"Village Chief Tai Lon, I want Lin Yang to join Spirit Hall. Can you take me to meet his family?"

"Yes, yes, yes, no problem," Tai Lon nodded repeatedly.

"Please follow me, Master Su."

The old woman who adopted Lin Yang was named Su Xi, and she gave Lin Yang her husband's surname.

Su Xi's husband joined the army in his early years and died in battle. They had no descendants, and she lived alone for decades until she found Lin Yang in the wild.

She was very good to Lin Yang; even with the red scars on his face, she didn't dislike him, but loved him like her own grandson.

Of course, even though Lin Yang hadn't awakened his memories, a person's fundamental nature wouldn't change, and he always did what he could to help with chores.

Coupled with the harmonious relations among neighbors in Red Maple Village, the grandmother and grandson lived a rather stable life, despite being a bit financially strapped.
