When the gang saw how well Goku was recovering from his injuries, they agreed to prolong their stay in the hot spring for one more day. Tsunade finally could relax with a few cups of sake and head to the gambling house after Goku convinced her he was okay. She would accumulate a tiny debt in each of the gambling houses that she visited.
When Goku discovered that his mother was about to go to the casinos, he used his jutsu to transform into an older adult. Tsunade had been under Goku's watchful eye throughout the day, and he had managed to win back the money she had lost in each gambling house with some additional interest.
At Konoha's Main Gate
It's been a day after leaving the hot springs, and the gang had finally arrived at the main gates of Konoha. Tsunade felt uneasy seeing the village once more.
Tsunade: I made a promise a long time ago of not ever returning to the Leaf Village after losing everyone I loved.
At that moment, a smiling Goku grabbed Tsunade's hand, leading her across the front entrance gates.
Goku: Everything is going to be okay now. You are no longer alone, Mom. You have me, Shizune, Naruto, and Ero-sennin now.
Izumo and Kotetsu, two Chunin, were responsible for guarding the entrance booth at the main gates of Konoha. They were now keeping guard at the entrance booth.
The guard duty at the main gate was typical and dull, as it was in most cases. It consisted of signing in some persons who came to the town to conduct business or Shinobi returning from a mission or departing for a mission.
On the other hand, while the two Chunin lazily observed the passage of time, they suddenly became aware of five people walking past them. It didn't take long for Izumo and Kotetsu to rise to their feet and halt everyone heading into Konoha.
Kotetsu/Izumo: Could you all please stop? You cannot proceed now unless you first sign in and answer a few questions about your Konoha trip.
When they reached that point, the group decided to stop for a second and look around to check out who was addressing them. Immediately when Izumo and Kotetsu become aware that Jiraiya and Tsunade have arrived, they immediately lower their heads and apologize.
Izumo: We sincerely apologize to both Lord Jiraiya and Lady Tsunade. As of yesterday afternoon, the council and the rest of the ninjas thought that all of you would arrive.
Kotetsu: It seems no one informed us about your party's delayed arrival in Konoha, probably because we both had the day off yesterday. Lord Jiraiya and Lady Tsunade, it would be great if you could head straight to the Hokage office and speak with the elders and the council.
Jiraiya: Sure thing! Hey, before we head out, can you guys fill me in on anything that's happened in the past few weeks?
Kotetsu and Izumo exchange nervous glances before speaking.
Goku: What happened?
Izumo: After you guys left searching for Lady Tsunade, we had to intruders in Konoha.
Jiraiya: Who?
Kotetsu: Kisame Hoshigaki and Itachi Uchiha were the ones. Unfortunately for Kakashi and Sasuke, they lost the confrontation with Itachi and Kisame and are currently unconscious in the hospital.
Upon hearing this, Naruto wasted no time rushing out of the main entrance gates and down the road to the hospital, where he intended to see how Sasuke and Kakashi were doing. Shizune's attempt to halt Naruto, Jiraiya intervenes, urging her to let Naruto go and that they must proceed to the Hokage Office and meet with the village elders and council.
While Shizune, Goku, Jiraiya, and Tsunade headed to the Hokage office to meet with members of the Konoha Council. When the villagers noticed them, they began whispering to one another, not thinking that they were seeing Princess Tsunade and Jiraiya, witnessing two of the renowned heroes.
Tsunade began to get a sense of unease whenever she heard the villagers referring to her as Princess. When Goku saw his mother acting in such a manner, he couldn't help but smile because it was so unusual to see her behaving in such a way. However, Goku instantly changed his demeanor as he recalled that throughout this entire period, he had never disclosed to Tsunade that he had been forced into entering into a political marriage to secure peace between Konoha and Sunagakure. However, Shizune and Jiraiya were the only ones who noticed the change in his body language.
Shizune: Goku is there something wrong? You seem pale and sweating more than usual.
Goku: Everything is okay just my stomach is a bit upset. Must be something I ate in the morning.
As Goku proceeded to rub the back of his head, he let out a little uneasy laugh throughout the entire process. With the expectation that Shizune would fall for his little lie.
She didn't.
Shizune is quite familiar with her little brother. As she has seen him grow up, she knows that Goku always consumes approximately three to four times as much food as an ordinary person does, but he has never complained of stomach-related issues.
With a chuckle, Jiraiya realized that he understood the reason why Goku started acting uneasy.
As the group finally arrived at the Hokage tower. Tsunade had ordered Shizune and Goku to go and meet with the council letting them know she has arrived. Goku was going to ask why they needed to go ahead first but he quickly noticed nervousness in her face. Both Goku and Shizune look at each other, nod their heads, and walk away, leaving both Jiraiya and Tsunade behind.
Jiraiya: Are you okay Tsunade.
Before responding, Tsunade took a moment to gather her thoughts and breathe deeply before addressing her longtime closest friend. Even though she would never admit that to Jiraiya because he will never let it go.
Tsunade: I am. I just remember the last time I was here in this tower was the day before I left and I just had snap on sensei. I never apologized when I had the chance.
There was a smile on Jiraiya's face as he placed her hand on her shoulder.
Jiraiya: Sensei was aware of the pain that you were experiencing. I do not doubt that he did not resent you for it. You were dear to him and he forgave on the spot. Now stop feeling sad about what happened in the past, Tsuna, and let's go and meet with the council before Goku begins to pick a fight with them.
Tsunade: Thanks Jiraiya.
As Jiraiya and Tsunade got closer to the room where the meeting was going to be held they started to hear shouting from inside. As they were about to enter they felt two Chakra signatures rise that of Danzo's and Goku's. When Tsunade opened the door she noticed the frustrated expression on the faces of Koharu, Homura, and a panicked Shizune trying to break the tension in the room.
Danzo and Goku were staring at each other. Goku was reading himself to jump and attack Danzo when someone picked him up from the back of his shirt.
Jiraiya: Gaki, you need to come down. Getting into a fight with Danzo is not something you should be doing.
Goku's expression changed when he saw both Jiraiya and his mother.
Tsunade: Kakarot explain yourself.
The name "Kakarot," when any time Tsunade uses to refer to Goku, causes him to flinch. Knowing that she only refers to him by that specific name when she is mad at him.
Goku: That toilet paper wrap mummy called me a monkey. That I'm wasting my potential and that should be a servant under him.
It was at this point that Tsunade began to increase her desire to kill Danzo. Even Jiraiya was able to set free a portion of his Chakra.
Koharu: Enough everyone.
The room went silent as they all glanced their glaze at the two older council members Koharu and Homura.
Koharu: It was inappropriate of you to refer to the child in such a derogatory manner.
Homura: Furthermore, the purpose of our gathering is not to recruit members for your suicide teams or organization; rather, we are here to speak about with Tsunade the duties of Hokage and to bring her up to speed on the situation in the village.
Koharu: Maybe it's best if the child leaves the room and returns to his duties.
It was becoming more difficult for Tsunade to maintain her calm, and she was beginning to feel anger for ever having gone back to the Leaf Village. Initially, Danzo referred to her son as a monkey and attempted to lure him into joining his group. Now, they are referring to him as a child. She had enough and with a quick response with a tone that was anger in her voice made everyone look at her.
Tsunade: No, he stays. If any of you force him to leave this room I'll leave and you can look for someone else to take the role of Hokage.
Homura: Was you wish. He can stay. Let's begin with this meeting.
Homura then gestures at Tsunade and Goku to sit. Both of them sat on a sofa facing the council members as they sat on a sofa across from them. Shizune and Jiraiya both remained standing behind Tsunade and Goku.
The moment Goku sat down, he thought to himself in a way that would allow him to inform his mother about the marriage agreement that he had been coerced into entering into with the Sand Village to bring about peace after the war they had.
When Goku was presented with the suggestion, he had no choice but to admit to himself that he would have preferred to leave the council room. His efforts to remain awake were a struggle. As if it were taking an eternity, this meeting seemed to drag on forever. It was hard for Goku to believe what he was seeing when he looked up at the wall opposite him to see the time. Only three minutes have passed since the beginning of the meeting.
It took somewhat more than an hour and a half for the meeting with the council to conclude. Goku was so exhausted that it was difficult for him to sit down for more than five minutes at a time with the endless amount of energy he has within him.
Koharu: I just wanted to let you know before you finally depart. You can now utilize the Senju compound is ready to be used Tsunade. Incredible as it may seem, everything was in a state of perfection. It appears that someone has been working on updating it. The main house was brought back to impeccable shape, and the other buildings inside the compound were also brought back to their original state. Apparently, the same individual was responsible for planting fresh plants and flower beds across the main yard. The training grounds were also restored.
Goku became aware of the fact that Tsunade was looking at him from the corner of her eye. Goku had no choice but to simply turn his head in the other way and start whistling nervously to avoid making eye contact.
Koharu: In addition, I had personally directed that all of the food stands and vendors that were located in close proximity to the Senju Compound be removed and permanently closed.
As soon as he learned that the food stands in the vicinity of his house were being forced to close. As a result, Goku stopped whistling and began to dispute the council's actions.
Goku: You have no right to force people to close their business. Tell me did you find any other place for them to put up their stands and to continue to work and provide an income for their families? If it wasn't an issue all of these years that Hokage wasn't in the village why is it an issue now? Do you the image you have created for the Hokage? Now that she has returned people will believe she closed down dozens of small local shops. They will see her as a heartless monster.
The pride that Tsunade felt for her son was so strong that she couldn't help but smile. Even though she had a sneaking suspicion that Goku was only doing it for the food, she couldn't hold it against him entirely. She is hoping that one of those merchants would sell some decent sake at a cheaper price if so then she would be able to have a drink both before and after she went to work.
Danzo: "Boy, this has absolutely nothing to do with you." It is in your best interest to take a seat and remain quiet because you have no authority to demand anything.
There was something about the way Danzo referred to Goku as "Boy" and the look that he gave him with his one eye that Tsunade did not appreciate. At this moment, she was aware that it was the ideal opportunity to disclose the fact that Goku is her son.
Tsunade: That's where your wrong Danzo. That boy has every right to speak since he is my son and the future head of the Senju clan.
The council members were in shock at Tsunade's revelation that Goku was her biological son.
Koharu/Homura: Is this Tsunade. He is your son.
Danzo: How can that be?
Goku: Well Danzo maybe in your old age you forgot that when a boy and a girl like each...
As Goku was about to finish his sentence, Danzo interrupted him and cut him off.
Danzo: Enough don't take as a fool boy. We need to reunite all of the clan leaders for an emergency meeting. Since he is the last male of the Senju and Saiyan clan he would be placed in the C.R.A. (Clan Restoration Act)
The words that Danzo had just spoken chilled Tsunade's heart. It is unthinkable that she could have forgotten about the C.R.A. statute that her grandfather and Uncle had drafted in order to prevent the extinction of clans and to restore them. In the future, her son was going to be utilized as a means of only producing offspring.
It was clear to Goku that this was the ideal moment to reveal his engagement and to lay all of the responsibility on Danzo by doing so. Within the context of the truth, he would place a few lies in order to make himself appear to his mother as the victim. So Goku coughs to gain the attention of his mother.
Goku: There was something else that was not mentioned during the meeting.
After that, Goku pointed his finger at Danzo.
Goku: Right before I left with Naruto and Jiraiya Danzo and his ninjas forced me to enter a political marriage between Leaf and Sand. He also said that if I refused I would be placed in the Bingo books in a kill insight order.
Every single person in the room was completely speechless. Then, as her rage surged and her vision burned red, Tsunade switched her attention to Danzo. Ready to kill.
