First thing in the morning after I woke up was bath, get dressed and eat with my family. I could tell Kiara was quiet nervous even if she tried to hide it but I still had a feeling that she would awaken.
"And judging by just how strong this feeling is I bet she'll awaken a very good class potential".
Every village, town, city or outpost has an awakening ceremony on the first day of every year. Coincidentally the months and week days share the same name as earth however each month is exactly 30 days so the year is 360 days.
The awakening ceremony can awaken anyone of age 15(even if they aren't 15 yet, as long as they'll turn 15 this year) till 17. This means you only have 3 chances at awakening in your life, however the more tries the less likely you are to awaken a powerful class potential.
Our village is called Greenleaf village located in the northwest section of the outer fortress and is mostly known among neighboring villages as the village of farmers. Due to this we are treated better than normal villages and provided with farming resources every year.
In the central plaza of the village right in front of the village chief's house a small squad of mages and knights took a formation around a purely transparent crystal large as an infant's head.
[Third person POV]
A male mage with grey and silver robes walked gracefully in front of his squad and cleared his voice once
"ahem* Dear villagers of Greenleaf village, I am El Cladias Graven of the Graven royal family and the one responsible for this year's awakening".
Immediately all the villagers including my parents and Ken(caused he was forced) bowed swiftly and chanted "your highness" so well coordinated one might think they were a choir.
"Spare the formalities villagers I am merely a supervisor and scout for today and not a prince".
Immediately after the villagers rose while the mages brought forward the transparent crystal orb. Soon Cladias began calling the teenagers to line up and awaken one by one, however as expected of a commoner village most didn't awaken.
After half the children attempted but failed to awaken, then it was Rey's turn. Rey is the only child of the village chief and a boy of same age as Kiara.
whooom* whoooom* whooooom*
The crystal began to vibrate with high intensity and glow before settling down. Meanwhile Cladias was quite shocked and the villages who caught the look before he masked it were naturally very curios, including Ken since he had waited twelve years for this.
Rey himself was rather both surprised and over-joyed. His father, the chief often said he would probably only awaken C-rank potential for a farming class like him and his predecessors however the panel in front of his eyes said otherwise.
"Ahem*, Rey Greenleaf has awakened SS-tier class potential [Life Bloom mage] ".
Gasps all around echoed as any potential A-tier and above was a guaranteed entry into the Myriad Academy and many sought that opportunity to raise their strength and fight against the abominations.
Rey couldn't hide his excitement and ran up to his father to hug him tightly
"Father I awakened something amazing!"
"HAHAHA, of course you did after all you are my son."
The father-son duo's happiness brought about new determination amongst the children to make their parents proud as well. Cladias simply smiled before calling upon the rest of the children.
"B-tier talent [Vine Mage], D-tier talent [Greater farmer], A-tier talent [Azure Flame Fencer] "
Cladias continued to announce the awakened potential classes recorded by the crystal while many were disheartened due to their failures.
When only ten children remained it was finally time for Kiara to awaken.
[Kiara POV]
"Please place your hand on the crystal and try to feel the cool flow it will imbue into your body"- Cladias smooth and royal voice helped me calm down and follow his instructions to the letter.
Soon I could feel the cool sensation creeping into my body through my hand and I tried to follow it with my mind but some resistance kept me from analyzing it properly. When I finally connected to it my entire body felt relaxed and my mind drifted.
I saw a vision of a tall, elegant and absolutely mesmerizing lady with long flowing deep blue hair and a dress of matching color flowing like tranquil water that couldn't be bothered to rustle.
She looked at me and I immediately understood that this was my potential self, a version of myself where I achieve my full potential and gain my true class.
