Chapter 24 - Chapter 23: Answers

Due to the confusion caused by Jango's defeat, Siam and Buchi, the pirates, didn't notice that Nami had slipped away to go wake up Luffy.

"Wake up, Luffy!!" Nami shouted at him while stepping on his head.

Luffy woke up angry.

"Was it you, Nami?!" Luffy yelled. "You stepped on my head!!"

When the pirates saw him get up, they screamed in desperation, realizing it would now be impossible to defeat them with all three back in the fight.

"That's because you left this fight to us while you slept peacefully," Nami said.

"I guess so," Luffy replied.

Luffy adjusted his hat and looked toward the hill.

"Oh, the butler showed up," Luffy said.

"3 more minutes and I'll kill all of you," Kuro said.

"That's too little time! It's impossible for us!" the pirates screamed. "We can't beat them in 3 minutes!"

Then Kaya arrived at the battlefield.

"Klahadore! That's enough!!" Kaya shouted, trying to stop him.

"K-Kaya?! What are you doing here?!" Usopp yelled at her.

When the pirates saw Kaya, they saw a small ray of hope—if even one of them managed to kill her.

"What a surprise, Miss Kaya. How did you come all the way here?" Kuro asked her.

"Merry told me everything," Kaya answered.

"Oh? He's still alive? I thought I had finished him off," Kuro said, frightening Kaya.

"I'm sorry, Usopp-san," Kaya apologized. "I know it's late to apologize. I couldn't believe you when you said Klahadore was a pirate."

"That doesn't matter now! Why did you come?! I told you to run away!" Usopp yelled.

"But aren't you fighting here?!" Kaya asked through tears.

Looking at Kuro, Kaya told him that if he wanted the treasure, she would give it to him, but he had to leave the island.

"You don't understand, Miss Kaya. I want your treasure, but I also want to live a peaceful life. The people in the village have trusted me for three years. That was a peaceful life," Kuro said while remembering those moments.

"So my plan will be a success once I obtain both the treasure and the peace. The pirate incident and you writing the will are the two most important parts of the plan," Kuro finished explaining.

Kaya pointed a gun at him, threatening him.

"Get out of this town!" Kaya shouted.

"You've gotten stronger these three years. A lot has happened, remember?" Kuro began to say.

"Ever since you lost your parents, we were always together. We walked on the ship, we went to the city, I took care of you when you got sick. We've been happy and sad together," Kuro said, recalling those moments.

"I devoted myself to you one hundred percent. I wasted these three years doing foolish things, but I've been very patient, and it was all so that this day would come. The day I kill you!!"

While Kuro talked, Oliver had his eyes closed.

'That bastard… I'll tear him apart. He's supposed to be fast, but I'm half mink— I have to be faster than him.'

Oliver's legs unconsciously started to tense as he kept his gaze fixed on Kuro.

'I have to surpass his so-called maximum speed to be able to help the crew with things I don't know yet. I need to be faster.'

In an instant he appeared in front of Kuro, and channeling electro into his palm, he struck Kuro in the chest, causing a small explosion that sent him flying straight into the Black Cat Pirates' ship.

"Huh?"

The Black Cat Pirates were confused when they saw their captain go flying.

"Alright, it worked. He's not that fast. Shall we keep fighting?" Oliver said as he saw Kuro getting up.

Oliver was about to rush forward again when suddenly the whole world seemed frozen.

"Huh? What happened?"

[Your request has been received]

[You will attend a meeting with a superior]

[Knocking out user]

"What do you mean knocking me ou—"

In an instant the world moved again, and he collapsed, fainting, hearing Luffy's voice somewhere in the background.

Oliver opened his eyes and noticed he was in an apartment.

"My home? They knocked me out in the middle of a fight… damn bastards," Oliver said angrily.

He started walking through the apartment, looking at the things on the shelves.

"I didn't remember it being so well furnished."

He arrived at the living room where there was a photograph. He picked it up, but the image was distorted—only he was visible, while the person next to him couldn't be recognized.

"You had a nice place."

Oliver turned around, and in front of him was Nico Robin.

"Who are you?"

"Please, didn't you request a meeting with me?"

"The superior being the system talks about."

"Exactly."

The being changed appearance into Nami right before Oliver's eyes.

"You wanted to ask the Gacha System some questions—questions it can't answer. So tell me, what do you want to know?" the strange being said, sitting on the couch.

"First…" Oliver said, sitting down in front of it. "Why have there been changes in the East Blue?"

"So that's your question… That's simple. This world is not the one you know."

"What the hell do you mean? That gacha machine said I was sent to One Piece."

"You were sent to One Piece. At the beginning, that was the case. But I saw you doing several things differently from the original events, so I decided to change things a little. I weakened some enemies, gave more crew members to others, added a few islands, gave more battles, and many other things."

Again, it changed appearance, this time into Nojiko.

"Why?"

"To make it more interesting."

"Interesting?"

"Of course. Many like me were getting bored, so when we saw the opportunity with the anomaly in your world, we decided to have some fun. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of people who have gone to worlds like One Piece, and to avoid seeing the same things, we changed that world."

"You changed this world because you were bored?!"

"Why are you angry? This benefits you too. A person who was bored in his world with the chance to live in his favorite anime with many beautiful women, where you could use their personal situations to win them over and get an amazing harem—can you imagine that? So many women at your feet?"

"Stop saying that with the face of a One Piece character. You look more like a demon than a being capable of sending me to another world."

"HAHAHAHAHA!"

The being began laughing loudly, changing into Boa Hancock's appearance.

"You're quite funny. I guess it really worked giving you that race and that Talent."

"What are you talking about?"

"Well, we thought that since you were a human who hadn't seen war, hadn't seen death, none of that… we decided to give you an advantage by giving you a race with combat instincts and a talent that would make you a little better."

"Adaptive Body."

"Exactly. We didn't want you to break at the first sense of danger, so we altered you a little so you could adapt to this world."

Then the whole place began shaking violently.

"I suppose it's time for you to wake up. I've kept you here too long, but I'll give you a little hint: one of the things I changed affects the original Straw Hat nakama, so be careful with that."

When he said that, the whole room lit up, giving way to the sky above, where Oliver heard one last thing.

"I also changed one more little thing."
