Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 - A Moment Of Truth.

Baldwin's Mansion

They arrived at the floor that Savannah didn't quite recognize but was somewhat acquainted with, the second floor where she had gone while exploring the mansion and that guy had shoved her down the stairs. Savannah feels much better now that he's not in there.

"Where have you been for two hours?" Blaze asked, and while Savannah was lost in her thoughts, she failed to notice that Blaze had halted in front of her, causing her to collide with his back. It certainly was as tough as a stone.

Blaze then faces her completely. Savannah glanced upward, her hand resting gently on her forehead, "Are you alright?" he inquired with worry, likely noticing his own strength, "Why did we halt?" Savannah, rather than responding, questioned him in confusion.

"Where were you for those two hours?" he retorted in response as well.

"We visited several spots that Theo had asked me about repeatedly, but I didn't have enough time to take him there." She went on to say, "I had notified Arthur that I would be delayed and that another person would attend to Mr. Baldwin in the morning." Savannah finishes speaking.

Blaze gazed at her in silence for a moment, and then—

"Did you have fun?" The question baffled her, and she furrowed her brow in bewilderment. "You had a good time on the journey here, Savannah?" he clarified when he noticed the confusion on her face, "Yes, I did." She replied to him truthfully without hesitation, as she had always been a truthful person.

"Then that's all that counts." He turned and walked away, leaving her in place, but before he did, he flashed her the same smile as once in his study, one that could win anyone over, yet his words now left her speechless.

After SomeTime

They were now standing in this large expansive hallway, in front of the grand wooden door adorned with complex engravings, featuring various animal designs etched into it, countless other details whose origins were unknown to her, yet it certainly appeared quite sophisticated, resembling a regal chamber from the exterior. However, there was another door that was simple yet equally large and stylish as the one ahead

"This is your room," Blaze said, using his left hand to point at the simple door, encouraging her to enter as they moved inside. Upon entering the room, she was entirely mesmerized. This bedroom felt completely different from her previous room in the apartment. The walls are etched with her preferred hue, a glowing light blue, which imparts an ethereal quality to the space.

The stylish blue walls of this bedroom were enhanced by Brexton Cole Interiors with beige details, and a duo of sculptural black bedside lamps was placed on either side of the tufted headboard to introduce a graphic feature that distinguished it. On the left side, there was also a big glass window that opened to a balcony overlooking the front.

The bedroom contained two additional doors, and she become curious about what lay behind them.

"Allow me to show you around," Blaze remarked, and she agreed, walking towards the glass window alongside him, Upon opening it, they stepped into the exquisite area, "This will be your balcony, allowing you to read books while savoring the fresh air," he stated, and Savannah's eyes scanned everything, then she observed something else, another balcony to the right, resembling what could be another bedroom, maybe?

They entered and he opened another wooden door that piqued her curiosity, revealing a space just as large as the bedroom. It was a bathroom featuring a walk-in closet, so this bedroom contains everything she has ever observed, yet she has always overlooked it. Even though Savannah previously resided in a costly apartment, this one was utterly magnificent.

Yet there was one thing she couldn't stop contemplating; everything she encountered in this mansion was her favorite. First the flowers, then the bedroom's hue, it felt as if all had been attended to based on her desires and preferences

Yet Savananh understood better than anyone that this was merely a coincidence.

"Rest for a moment before attending to my father, there's no hurry." Savannah refused because, for her, her patient was a priority, and she was already late today. He needed his medication.

"No, it's alright, I need to examine him and give some antibiotics—" he interrupted saying, "It's already handled." Perplexed, she looked at him intently, "The antibiotics have been injected, Savannah," he went on, "Now get some proper rest here, okay?" She nodded.

"If you need anything, the room beside this one is mine," he stated. "Feel free to ask," the door resembling a royal chamber belongs to him, she sure was fascinated by its design, wondering curiously what it would look like inside, is it as regal as the door's appearance.

Somewhere Down The Basement

Individuals in formal clothing were positioned in a dimly lit basement, looking at their watches as time went by. A black Rolls Royce entered the dim basement, and a man in a red suit, appearing to be the leader of the pack, emerged and positioned himself in front of the car as it entered.

From the passenger seat, Arthur exited the vehicle and opened the rear door to assist someone getting out, and then the Black Brushed Calfskin Altavilla Derbys shoes appeared, followed by Blaze's face.

He approached the man in the red suit, donning the turtleneck he had on that morning, topped with his black trench coat and sunglasses. "You have finally arrived," the man in red remarked, tapping his forehead as if letting out a sigh. "I've been here for six hours," he appeared annoyed from having been stood up for such a long time. "Lower you tone, Edward," Blaze warned him in his icy voice.

Edward regarded him with a hint of suspicion, aware of Blaze's abilities and preferring to stay on his good side for his own benefit. "I'm sorry," he expressed regret for his hasty tone. He understood he meant nothing to Blaze in any way, and he didn't desire him as an rival at this moment, fully aware of the consequences, do business and depart—that was his approach.

Once Blaze indicated something to Arthur, he moved a bit closer and called someone; after a brief conversation, he returned to his spot. Ten minutes later, a white Land Rover drove in, and several men stepped out with white cardboard boxes and approached their boss, Blaze. "Here are those, check them out," Blaze told him.

As Blaze told Edward, he walked towards the boxes to check them out. Finally, he held a box and placed it on the ground, and he too crouched down, smiling. "This is everything I needed," Edward spoke as his eyes sparkled by seeing the freshly wrapped white powder in a small packets.

Conversely, Arthur received a black briefcase and made his way back to the vehicle, stating, "The rest of the items are inside," and Blaze walked away from that spot.

"They will be here soon," Arthur mentioned, after they moved away from that place.

Baldwin's Mansion

After visiting Mr. Baldwin for the final time, she exited his room and descended the stairs to head to Theo's. She was informed beforehand that dinner would be prepared by 9, so she planned to arrive for the meal.

"Hi, Mommy," Theo said as he spotted her halfway to his room in the hallway. "Where are you off to?" she inquired. "To you," she looked at him skeptically, "Why?" he answered, grasping her hand. "I want to show you my room," he continued

Savannah grinned at him and replied, "Let's head there after dinner; we're running late for dinner, Theo." She glanced at my wristwatch, which read exactly 9. "We're running behind, let's move." and they walked.

She saw Blaze positioned at the host spots as they entered the dining area, and it was obvious he was anticipating their arrival because his plate remained untouched when they came in. "I'm really sorry, we're behind schedule." Savannah offered her apologies and counted how many times she had said, "It's okay, I understand, it's your first day here," today. Blaze smiled warmly, and his profound insight made Savannah feel even guiltier than she did earlier.

Savannah and Theo took their seats, she on one side of the host area and Theo beside her, shortly after some kitchen staff entered and started serving the meal, which they then ate. Theo had a good appetite; he was never selective with his food, so he consumed everything offered without any complaints, and Savannah appreciated that immensely.

"They serve delicious food," Theo said to Blaze for the first time after finishing his meal, and Savannah was taken aback by how calmly he spoke since he never did so with anyone nearby, "Thank you." Blaze answered, "The bedroom works well too." Theo reiterated, "I see you're not fussy about food." Blaze observed that.

"I eat anything that can be consumed, it makes it easier for my mommy this way." Theo smiled at Savannah, who returned the smile, "Do you love for your mommy?" Blaze posed this question, and Theo and Savannah looked at Blaze "Yes, more than anyone else." Theo replied right away, and it brought Savannah immense joy to hear that, it touches her heart every time,

"But someone else loves her even more!"
