Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 - Moving In.

While they passed, the trees, the refreshing breeze swirled gently around them. The trees appeared to be swaying in delight, finally released from confinement, joyful, yet a part of her felt stagnant. Maybe it was due to the weight in her heart.

Savannah was on her way to the mansion. Moving in.

Blaze had previously offered to come and pick her up, but she refused because she didn't want to impose on him any more than she already had. He was initially resistant to agreeing due to his stubbornness, but ultimately he consented. However, he included the condition that he would take care of her belongings and transport them to the mansion. The belongings departed early in the morning.

Savannah has finally left her beloved house where she had created numerous memories with Theo, her, and her friends. Leaving that house so abruptly felt emotional and burdensome for her due to the countless memories it contains. She wishes that their current destination becomes a peaceful place for them until she finds a home of her own.

Baldwin's Mansion

Inside the mansion, many activities were unfolding; it seemed to be a special event about to happen, but what was it?

This morning, the mansion appeared somewhat different than normal; the most obvious change was the flowers. Vases brimming with fresh flowers appeared as if they were plucked straight from the gardens, featuring various kinds: roses, lilies, tulips, and more.

At the top of the staircase ascending to the mansion's upper level, as well as flanking both sides of the doorway, there was one particular flower that was prominent. It was a wild hyacinth, a flower of blue hue. It was a bulbous perennial, colonial, with elongated linear leaves, featuring a terminal raceme abundant in pale blue flowers. It was magical to witness them by themselves.

"Is everything done?" Blaze inquired while descending the stairs, his gaze scanning everything, examining everything closely, while Arthur, who had been observing everything for Blaze down the stairs, finally approached his boss and stood next to him, "Yes Boss."Arthur answered.

Blaze noticed the flower beneath the stairs, his eyes closely examining it. "Why is this here?" Blaze asked when he noticed the strange location for the flower, while Arthur was puzzled about why he hadn't spotted it.

Not receiving a response from Arthur, Blaze faced Arthur again. "I expect an answer." Blaze said to him in a low, menacing voice.

"My apologies, Boss," Arthur stated while gazing at his feet. Blaze fixed him with a long, icy stare as he commanded, "Take it up the stairs!" He then strode to the upper end of the living room and sat on the couch, peering out the expansive floor-to-ceiling window, anticipating someone's arrival.

When a car honks after nearly three hours, three hours to reach the mansion, when traffic usually takes an hour at most, what was she doing for two hours?

Blaze pondered this as he saw Savannha's car approach his vast front yard through the glass window, tracking its movement until it disappeared from view.

Outside the Mansion

After three hours, Savannah at last arrived at the mansion with Theo. They paused occasionally during their journey, and she was aware she was behind schedule for Mr. Baldwin, which made her anxious about leaving her patient for the entire morning, even though she had notified Arthur in advance.

"Come on Theo, let's go," she said while stepping out, closing the door behind her and surveying the house they would soon call home, more like a temporary residence for their stay.

Theo remained in the vehicle, his eyes wide as Savannah noticed his absence. She approached, opened the door, and leaned towards him. "Do you like it?" she asked him. He shook his head in refusal. Savannah understood he wouldn't approve, but escaping this was impossible "Let's go, kid, get out!" I remarked, securing the car, and strolled toward the mansion with him, hand in hand, like we usually did.

Multiple pairs of eyes were fixed on them as they walked, the men stationed outside were gazing at them with curious looks, seemingly questioning their presence? It seemed they were observing Theo more precisely.

"There are so many huge guys," Theo remarked upon noticing their size. Did they have something against kids? Is she right to worry? Savannah thought.

Savannah was captivated by the sight and fragrance of her beloved 'wild Hyacinth' at the entrance; as soon as she inhaled the aroma, a small smile appeared on her face. It has consistently been her favorite.

As she ventured deeper into the living room, Elijah walked by and halted upon seeing her, Arthur Blaze's secretary observed them as well, do we appear odd? she pondered, Not only those outside, but the individuals within the mansion were gazing at them with interest, did she did well by moving in here?

"You're here," Savannah heard a voice coming from her left, and Blaze approached her. He appeared different than he had in the past; today he wasn't wearing any coats or blazers on top, allowing her to see his upper body clearly—a masculine physique, and he looked attractive.

As he positioned himself at some distance from her, she said, "I'm sorry for the wait," just then a voice abruptly asked, "Who is this boy with you?" it was Arhtur who inquired with a slight smile while standing next to his boss Blaze, whereas Savannah was somewhat puzzled by the meaning of the question.

"My son," she replied instantly. Elijah approached them too and gazed at them with a perplexed look. "Son?" he asked, then added, "Are you married?"

The second question caused her to sigh; she was tired of people asking her this. She would have pondered it countless times before relocating here if she had anticipated these inquiries. "Definitely not," she answered as required, but he appeared still puzzled, so she glanced at Blaze, who was merely standing there observing them, particularly their clasped hands.

Savannah shifted her gaze to Theo, noticed him fixated on Blaze, unmoving, unsure of his thoughts, which were unpredictable, and she felt doubly worried about him potentially saying something foolish. She ought to have talked about this prior to moving here, "Do you all mind children coming into the mansion?" she inquired about what she believed was the issue, looking at them with her composed expression. "Don't you like kids?" she continued. "If you don't—" a voice interrupted her, "I like children." It was Blaze, smiling at her after making this comment.

"Welcome to the mansion" he welcomed them again a smile but it was invisible to be seen.

Savannah then faced Theo, who continued to observe Blaze with a frosty expression; she called, "Theo?" He didn't reply, "Theodore Miller?" This time it succeeded, he looked at her, pulling his eyes away from Blaze, "Introduce yourself," and Theo turned to them. "Hi, I'm Theodore Miller, and I'm six," he presented himself just like a well-mannered child.

"Come on, you must be tired, take a break," Blaze remarked, gazing at Savannah, and now she realized he noticed her fatigue, which made her happy. She looked back and forth in bewilderment, and it appeared Blaze understood her uncertainty. "Theodore, your room is on the left side of the corridor," he said, "Elijah will guide you." Elijah gave them a courteous smile.

"Give us a minute" Savannah excused herself from them and moved quite some distance so she could talk to Theo alone.

Her voice faded as she knelt down to Theo's height, "Do not talk too much," she gently placed her hands on his shoulders, "Okay, do you understand what I mean?" He nodded and she released her grip.

He comforted her, saying, "Don't worry, Mom, I won't say or do anything to put you in a tough spot," while he softly grasped her shoulder. She smiled at his words; he had definitely matured. "Come on, I'll catch up with you after I check out the place," he remarked while gently running his hands through her hair and hugging her before jogging off with Elijah to his new room, as she observed as he vanished from view.

"Your room is on the third floor, up the stairs, Savannah," he said. "Allow me to accompany you," he offered as she stood and approached him. She nodded in agreement as he told her, unable to respond about their rooms being somewhat distanced; while not extremely far, it was enough for her to notice the distance.

She felt worried, but Blaze had helped her in her time of need; she couldn't ask for more. His kindness was unmatched. She can't take advantage of his kindness.
