Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 - Destiny.

Year and half ago

"Boss, he was spotted at the airport," Arthur reported to his Blaze, who was sitting in the back of the car using his iPad. "Let's proceed," he instructed his men while glancing up and directed his eyes toward the outside through the window covered in black glass. As he turned, he beheld a gorgeous sight ahead of him

"Savannah," he murmured softly while gazing out with a small smile on his lips, "Stop," he quickly directed his driver, who was ready to move the vehicle, but a feeling urged Blaze to pause and linger a little longer; perhaps Savannah was the woman who captivated him.

In contrast, Savannah was at the hospital playground playing with some kids who looked like patients in their hospital gowns, while Blaze simply watched her from his car, wearing a smile. He calmly watched her while she played, laughed, ran around with the kids pursuing her, and feigned tears when they captured her. She wore her hospital scrubs, indicating that she was still on duty.

It's not just the joy on her face or the way her laughter rings out, but how effortlessly she connects with the children in the playground. Watching her play with the kids is incredibly captivating to Blaze. This was her zone, blending playful energy with genuine care, as if she is completely in tune with herself and the world around her.

Blaze find himself admiring the way she interacts with the children. Her patience, her ability to get down to their level, both physically and emotionally. It is clear that she understands them in a way beyond words. It is heartwarming to see how they respond to her with such trust and enthusiasm when she smiles and encourages them.

When she joins in their games, she's not just participating, she was elevating their experience, making every moment feel special. Her energy was infectious, drawing everyone into a shared sense of fun and adventure, including Him.

In these moments, Blaze saw the side of her that is pure and unfiltered. It's a reminder of her ability to bring out the best in those around her and the deep, nurturing qualities she has. Watching her like this, he was filled with a profound sense of appreciation and love. It's these small, everyday moments that reveal the depth of her character and why he was so grateful to-

Have her in his life. But she is not his yet.

The soft hum of the restaurant surrounded Blaze as he exited the elevator, exuding a cool, measured tranquility in his step. He was present for work—merely another meeting, another agreement to conclude. The shiny floors shimmered below him, mirroring the gentle golden light that illuminated the area. His thoughts were distracted, already processing calculations and tactics.

As he walked toward the dining area, his eyes flicked over the patrons, searching for his designated private room. And then, just as he passed the row of tables, something stopped him.

A voice. Soft but distinct.

At first, he didn't pay it any mind—just another conversation among the crowd. But then, it happened again. The unmistakable sound of laughter, light and melodic, caught his attention. He froze.

It was her.

Savannah.

His breath caught, and he couldn't help but glance toward the source of the sound. She sat at a table with a friend, her laughter resembling a comforting tune he hadn't known he longed for. Her face was slightly oriented toward her friend, yet he could still discern the arc of her lips and the way her eyes shimmered with affection

She didn't see him. She didn't even look in his direction, but for some reason, he couldn't take his eyes off her.

They had met once before—briefly, at an event or after the event. He hadn't thought much of it, and he didn't expect her to remember him. After all, they had barely exchanged a handful of words.

But now, seeing her in this quiet corner of the restaurant, something inside him stirred. There was no dramatic recognition, no acknowledgment. Just the simple fact that she was here, and it felt like fate.

Blaze shook his head, briefly breaking free from the strange trance he had fallen into. He could still hear her laughter, still see how her smile illuminated her face. Yet he understood it was wiser not to get close to her. She probably didn't even remember him. Besides, he wasn't here to make small talk.

He turned back toward the hallway, dismissing the encounter as nothing more than an odd coincidence. But the feeling lingered. Something about her had stuck with him, even from that one brief meeting weeks ago.

He was used to being in control, used to moving through life with purpose. Yet, here he was, standing in the middle of a bustling restaurant, distracted by someone who didn't even remember his name.

He sighed quietly to himself and walked to his private meeting room, his mind still lingering on the image of her.

As he entered the room and sat down, he couldn't help but wonder if their paths would cross again—if the universe would throw them together a second time. But for now, he had a job to do.
