Adrian sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "If everyone stays beside her, what's the point of separate rooms?"
Karl blinked and pointed at him. "To make it look fair, obviously!"
Julian let out a quiet laugh. "Fair? You mean crowded," he said.
Milo tilted his head innocently. "Then maybe we can make one big room and all sleep together?"
Ruby gave him a patient smile. "Milo, that's just our current house."
Karl gasped dramatically. "Then what's the point of building a new one, wife?!"
Ruby rolled her eyes, trying not to laugh. "Because I want space to breathe, Karl. You take all the air in the room when you talk too much."
Everyone burst out laughing except Karl, who looked betrayed. "Wife! My words are precious!"
Adrian muttered under his breath, "That's one way to describe noise pollution."
Ruby chuckled softly as Karl glared at Adrian, Milo giggled behind his sleeve, and Julian just smiled with quiet amusement.
