I woke up earlier than usual the following morning, my mind already occupied with the business conference. For the first time since joining Keller Real Estate Holdings, I felt genuinely prepared for something that had nothing to do with defending myself against Orion. I had spent most of the previous day studying the documents he had assigned me, and with Callie's help, I had managed to understand the company's recent projects, its financial position, and the challenges we were likely to face in the coming months.
It had been exhausting, but I was proud of myself. I had no intention of allowing Orion to make me feel like an unqualified outsider in a company where I had a legitimate stake. If he wanted to test my abilities, I was ready to prove that I could handle the responsibility.
