Ariel's eyes widened in surprise as she entered the classroom. No one looked at her, let alone spoke to her. An unusual silence filled the air.
Back in her former school, silence only lasted during lessons. Afterward, the corridors buzzed like a marketplace, filled with gossip, teasing, or the cruelty of bullies. Here, however, the students seemed absorbed in their own worlds, untouched by trivial distractions. Just as Kai and Kraven had promised, they minded their own business.
Following their guardians' lead, Ariel quietly made her way to the chairs provided in the center of the classroom. She settled herself between Kai and Kraven, who appeared unbothered by the unusual stillness.
"Don't be so surprised, princess," Kai half-whispered. "I told you, this is how it is here."
"It's unusual for a school to be this quiet," she replied softly.
"That's VVIP for you," he added with a grin.
