"I know you scared of losing me, Horace. But nothing will happen to me, okay? I promise," she said softly, her hands nervously clutching her backpack straps.
Horace opened his mouth to protest, but Xavier cut him off.
"Is okay, Horace, allow her," Xavier said gently. Ariel nodded sheepishly at him.
Horace let out a deep sigh before nodding at the driver through the rearview mirror, bringing the car to a smooth halt right in front of the school gate.
"Please, my love," he turned to her, taking her hands in his, "take good care of yourself. Kraven and Kai are here in case you feel bored," he said.
"I'll be fine, of course. I'll take care of myself, so don't worry," she reassured him.
