Synopsis
High-school siblings Rei Hayakawa and Shiori Hayakawa live what seems like a perfect life—wealthy, talented, and bound by a close, caring relationship. Despite their differences, they share a quiet understanding and genuine affection, supporting each other like any normal brother and sister. But everything changes when their mother delivers an unexpected ultimatum: from now on, only one of them will be recognized as the true heir of the Hayakawa family—the one who proves superior in academics, achievements, and every competitive aspect of school life. Reluctantly, their peaceful bond turns into a silent rivalry. Rei, a calm and musically gifted student, finds solace in the school’s music club alongside his friends Reina Kisaragi, Miyu Takasugi, and Yuna Takahashi. Meanwhile, the observant and composed Shiori is a member in the school’s radio and announcement room, subtly influencing the flow of information across campus. Though neither truly wishes to compete, both are driven by pride, expectations, and the desire to prove themselves. As their rivalry intensifies, small victories and quiet sacrifices begin to test their relationship—blurring the line between love and competition. In a story filled with comedy, romance, drama, and emotional tension, one question remains: Can they defeat each other… without losing what matters most?

Chapter 1 - Rei hayakawa's monologue.

I used to think everything would stay the same.

Same house. Same quiet mornings. Same voice calling my name from the other side of the hallway… Shiori, telling me to hurry up like she always does.

It was normal. Simple. Comfortable.

We never needed to prove anything to each other.

She was smart. I knew that.

I was… good at my own things too.

And somehow, that was enough.

At least, it used to be.

Then one sentence changed everything.

"Only one of you will inherit the future of this family."

It sounded so simple when Mother said it.

Like she was just deciding what to have for dinner.

But ever since that day… everything feels different.

Every test score.

Every small achievement.

Every glance we exchange.

It all means something now.

We're competing.

Not because we hate each other.

Not because we want to.

But because… we have to.

Or maybe…

Because a part of me wants to know.

If I stand at the top…

Will she still look at me the same way?

Shiori.

You're the only one I never wanted to compete with.

And yet…

You're the only one I can't lose to.
