Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: Difference in Skill 2

Please Pick an Immortal...

This was the announcer telling players to pick a character they would play.

Arianis had 192 unique characters with different play styles in different roles, making the matches unique and independent of each other.

Currently, Dylan moved his mouse and scrolled to the Hyper core icon. There we're about 47 Hyper Core characters, one of which was Bageer. He looked down the list and picked a woman dressed in a battle maidens dress and having blades floating around her.

Mary Shiloh; The Saintess of Swords. His second main.

He scanned the character, known to be a scaling semi-ranged Hyper Core, known for her sustained damage and dashes.

He hovered his mouse over her skill, waiting for his opponent to pick an Immortal.

Passive [Blade Array]: The saintess attacks have a chance to drop a sword in an area near her... The more sword stacks dropped, the higher her attack speed and damage. Reduce Crit damage for each sword by 2%

Skill 1 [Dancing Sword]: (Passive) Gain Attack Speed per level, increase maximum Blade Array stacks by 5 for every level.

(Active) The saint buffs her attack damage, based on every sword in her Blade array. This stacks up to the 5 times, the fifth doing bonus raw damage. (C.D: 5 secs)

Skill 2 [Swords of Protection]: (Passive) Increase Blade Array spawn rate (Active) [cost:5 swords] The saint surrounds herself with a shield made up of swords that reduces Melee damage by 10/20/30/40/50% and reflects ranged attacks and skills (C.D: 12 secs)

Skill 3 [Sword Motion]: (Active) [cost: 1 sword] The saint dashes towards a sword, gaining a burst movement speed for 1.5 secs and your next attack heals for a portion of the damage. (C.D: none)

Ultimate [Sword Requiem]: (Passive) Gain Bonus attack damage and armor penetration, but reduce Crit damage. (Active) [Cost:5-25 swords] Gain Vision in an area around. Create an area where you control all swords, doing damage to all enemies based on how many swords stacks in the blade array. If an enemy dies in the zone, the skill duration is extended.

Dylan nodded to himself, Mary Shiloh was a top tier hyper core in middle to high ranks, having one of the highest winrates with a high difficulty ceiling.

The young man thought that this would be a matchup to show off his skill with a hard immortal.

Soon his opponent hovered a character, causing him to fidget for a split second. Then she swapped to Bageer and locked it in.

Dylan felt as if he'd almost be rage baited.

She wouldn't be that petty would she?

***

Crea, was indeed that petty!

She had hovered for a split second the ultimate counter to Mary.

Ug'Shub the Void Kraken.

Then she instantly locked in Bageer.

-Wu Kraken gaming

-mind control

-some 9pak gaming right there

-wixked flex

The stream chat went wild, some even sending gifts to her. Some daring her to lock the immortal. Some calling it mental warfare.

Crea was a little shocked by the Mary pick, but just chuckled as she began to setup her Enhancement Talents and picked her extra spells.

Blink and Speed.

One being instant untargetable movement, the other a burst of movement speed.

Soon the game began to load up.

The map here was a single lane with 2 Defense towers and no Fortress blocking the citadel.

WELCOME TO THE KYMAN ARENA

MINIONS HAVE SPAWNED

Crea Instantly went to work. She went into the shop and bought her first starter item with 500 starter gold.

Helion Core [Upgradable]. The starter item for most immortals, but core item for Bageer and most Peridot based immortals.

Then she went to her character interface and looked at her skill. She levelled up her skill 1 and got an option to pick a weapon.

Gauss [Sniper Rifle]: Bonus damage to targets with armour. Increased range.

Legalus [Automatic Rifle]: increased attack speed and damage with a high crit rate and damage

Clint and Claude [Dual Uzi's]: Increased attack speed and damage based on the opponents maximum HP.

Destroyer [Bazooka]: Area of Effect splash damage that does bonus magic damage.

Crea picked Gauss, then she began to click on her map, directly her character to the battlefield.

Bageer moved through the bushes at the side of the arena, slowly. She didn't make large movements in order not to alert her opponent to her movement.

The minion wave clashed; knights in red and blue swung their blades and blocked with their shields. Whilst their archers fired arrows at each other.

Soon the HP bar on the front line warriors dropped to their critical point, their armour stained with their blood.

Just then, a magic flying sword flew out of the bush just opposite where Bageer was hiding, reaping the life of the soldier in Blue armour.

Bageer nodded "Hmm, a little up there huh?". After that, another sword wheezed through the air, slaying another soldier, thinning the wave.

Yet Bageer hadn't moved an inch from her hiding spot.

'Wait for it... Kids getting impatient ' she thought... Just then, on the computer screen, Crea noticed movement from opposite her. Mary had walked out for a slight pixel.

Instantly, she clicked on his character for a small frame of a second and press her skill 1 tagged to her Q then clicked again.

Skill 1 [Gauss: Headshot]: (Passive)Gain Bonus range every time you level this skill.(Active) Mark Target, gain true sight on the and fire a bullet targeted for the head, breaking their Armour. Do bonus damage if the target has less than 50/60/120/150/200 armour. Apply Critical strike if you're unseen in a bush. (C.D 8 secs)

Bang!!! Phew!!! Headshot

-346 HP Crit

Auto attack: -124 HP

The Gauss rifle sung a quiet and muffled tune, as if a silencer was placed on it. In that frame that Dylan had brought his Mary out, Crea had instantly tagged him with a head shot, mixed with a basic auto attack, doing half his HP with one critical shot.

The timing between the picture perfect frame movement from the Mary and the shot from Bageer was just about a second of frames.

It was like she was waiting for just a clip of his movement.

She then saw Dylan retreat to his tower, scared off with half his HP gone from one skill weaved with an auto attack.

'Why is he recalling? His skill one is a good sustain tool'

Crea was left a bit shocked, 'This kid was a real coward. He's really that bad huh?'

Crea controlled Bageer to clear the wave os soldier minions, gaining gold for killing each of them. Then she pushed the wave into the tower, before walking to a bush to recall.

Just then, an idea popped in her head. Currently, she was level 3 with her 3 basic skills levelled.

Her second skill varied as her first dependent on choice.

Currently she was using the Invisibility upgrade on her Skill 2 tagged to her W Key.

Skill 2 [Camouflage]: (Passive) gives movement speed in bushes or when hidden (Active) Temporarily enter a state of Camouflage, gaining silent movement and becoming untargetable. Remains permanent as long as you stand absolutely still, or in bushes. (C.D 15 secs)

She also took the grappling hook upgrade for her E.

Skill 3 [Grappling Hook]: (Active) (2 charges) Shoots a grappling hook on terrain to help traverse it easily. If used, gain a slight burst of attack speed for 1.5 secs. Resetsa charge on takedowns or assists. (C.D 15 secs)

Slowly, she waited for Mary to walk into lane. She caught the wave of minions, taking them out one by one. Even though he has a hard time doing so, he managed to hold the line held as he pushed the wave forward towards his enemy tower.

Though he had an item component already ready in his item shop at base, he still wanted to push the wave forward.

But a fear of his didn't die out. He placed his character right in a bush on his right. Right in the waiting Rifle of Crea's Bageer.

He'd over thought. Not seeing her on the map, he had thought she recalled outside of vision.

He pulled open the score board to see what she had bought from the shop.

She bought nothing.

'She bought nothing?' he mumbled to himself.

Only to be greeted by a Gauss rifle right up his characters face.

Headshot!!! -370 HP Crit

Auto -148 hp

Grappling Hook

Auto -150hp

Auto -196hp

First Blood!!!

Next thing he knew was a death screen.

He hadn't been cc'd.

He wasn't blind.

All that happened was a series of inputs so fast, he could react at all.

They were both level 3, but he was taken out as if their was a level difference.

"What the actual fuck? She's actually this good?" He coughed out, almost throwing up blood. The instant he died like that, he knew for a fact that she was actually good at the game.

But honor and over convulated pride wouldn't let him give up. All he had to do was play it safe and scale...

***

Meanwhile, in Crea's stream, the chat went wild in at first shock, and them mocking amusement.

-Yeah GG. It's a wraps

-Get this kid a chair, he need to sit down

-Crazy auto Q combo... Teach me sensei

-hexk, I blinked

-me too

-holy damage my guy... That's level 3 with just a level 1 Helion Core...

-skill issues

Crea smiled as she looked at the chat before making her first recall. Buying item components, an alarm popped up that got her to smile.

2kkTheDone has gifted you 50 Gifted subs

'Nice... Keep it coming.' she thought. Sometimes, noobs had to be sacrificed for the gifts of the viewers.

'Can't blame me kid, you offered yourself as a sacrifice to the content gods...' she chuckled as she drank down the rest of her energy drink in one gulp. This was going to be a long stream.
