After Alex had finished his part of his story, he and Lyra went to their separate seats. While Alex sat and pondered about what he had learned.
After connecting his story to hers he realized a few key details. Details that would be extremely important later on or extremely important to defeat the spider.
These details were a surprising high of five details. Although some of those details stemmed from another detail, yet still important.
His first realization was that Lyra really could use the spider to train. Yet luckily she hadn't and instead was filled with fear.
That fear was the only reason she had told Alex about her experience. While if she was cleared from the fog clouding her mind which was that of fear, then she would've come to the same conclusion as Alex.
Alex was extremely lucky that Lyra had not come to his own conclusion. So during their exchange of information he withheld a lot of information.
That of which included the next detail, that the spider's shell was almost a perfect defense against him and Lyra.
Learning that the soft parts of the spider would be where it was most weak. Which in hindsight should've been extremely obvious.
Yet luckily because of the fear instilled by the spider Lyra would most likely try attacking the bottom of the spider shell where she'd think she'd be the most safe.
While in reality the underbelly of the spider left people the most vulnerable. While Lyra also wouldn't die from its attack, instead waking up.
Waking up in even more fear than before.
Which led to Alex's third detail, that her fear would lead to Alex having more time to defeat the spider.
So Alex could even sneak in a few training sessions with the spider. Before Lyra eventually realized.
Yet it was merely a time stall and wasn't absolute, leading Alex to come to the harsh decision that'd he'd have to defeat the spider quickly.
While Alex's fourth detail was in the books, the memories that were stored in that 'place'. With Lyra and Alex having vastly different planes.
Different planes at least in looks, but they were both relatively the same. As the layout was basically the same, whether it be a library or a street.
With Alex coming to the conclusion that inside the houses were most likely memories, like inside Lyra's books.
Which led to the final detail, which was arguably the most important. That now a house with his memory of fighting the spider was in his subconscious or wherever that place was.
This could lead Alex to studying their fight or find weaknesses, helping him advance even if the spider was killed.
Yet there stood a huge wall blocking that idea. That he had no way of finding that specific house.
So in Alex's next dream he was going to briefly search a few houses, to conduct a study, one to test if the memories had an arrangement.
Yet first he wanted to prepare for the fight against the spider, just in case he ran into it during the dream.
For his preparation he had a plan, one conceived long before the spider arrived in his dream.
For a while now he had wanted to hunt down a bunch of monkeys. Just for their crystals.
Alex was going to slaughter a whole bunch of monkeys for the crystals they gave. Then he was going to level up the heck out of the monkey claws.
Not only could this help create an extremely strong weapon, but it was also a test of its own.
A test to see the difference in power between stage and level. Alex had never really seen the difference between the two.
As he had really never tested out the claws after feeding them the crystals. And yet he was still weary.
As he believed in his heart that even a max leveled monkey claw, whatever the max level is, would only be a sliver better than his stage two Lost Katana.
Yet he still had hope as there was no logic to the system introduced by… well the system. As Alex had been truly surprised by what it could do, and what it couldn't.
Finally it was time for their daily hunt, the hunt which Alex had organized to happen every day at noon exactly.
This was because all their time telling gadgets had been destroyed. So their best way to tell time was when the sun was at its peak.
Alex got up and observed the passengers around him get up. They all funneled to the small exit door of the plane.
Slowly climbing down the small tree, while some people stayed behind, those of which had created jobs to charge hunters for.
Alex waited at the bottom of the plane, watching over the frail survivors. In case of any accidents Alex was responsible.
Because of this he had made it his job to supervise the survivors climbing down the tree, as less people meant less food.
Once all the survivors had made it to the forest floor they began heading to the volcano. Where they thought it'd be easiest to navigate to.
While Alex didn't wander on the ground, instead sticking in the trees. Expertly moving through the tree, swinging from branch to branch.
This was all due to the monkey claws, which were allowing him to maneuver through the forestry.
With his decision of traveling in the trees coming from the knowledge that the monkeys attacked the plan in the trees.
So the most likely place for Alex to find more monkeys was on the tree.
While on the forest floor the hunters were getting their fair share of prey. Although most of which were insects, abomination insects.
Yet Alex even after a bit of hunting Alex had yet to encounter any monkeys. As though avoiding his targeted bloodlust.
Except Alex knew he was just getting unlucky, with the men and women on the ground being extremely lucky, fighting the occasional boar and regular insect.
Although a small detail that surprised Alex the most was that the boars weren't too big compared to their normal sizes.
Instead all the boars they came across were just above average sizes. Compared to the insects that were ginormous compared to their regular selves.
Then on the ground with Lyra leading them they came across a huge bird.
In the forest floor in front of the group of hunters was a bird the size of two grown men. While it dug its beak into the soil.
Faced with the threat Lyra signaled to the group to stop. She gave an abnormal amount of time studying the bird before giving another order to attack.
Right as Lyra's command was signaled the forest floor broke out into a battlefield of chaos. As men charged toward the bird gaining its attention.
As the bird whipped its head out of the ground to glare at its new prey. As soon as the menacing eyes of the bird landed on the men they were filled with bloodlust and hunger.
Noticing this Alex was prepared to jump out of the tree to assist with the devastating battle. Except the moment he was about to jump, a glistening of the sun shone in Alex's eye.
It was not coming from the sky where the sun hung from, but instead a couple hundred feet away from him, in the thick branches of the tree.
It was a monkey claw, reflecting the sun off its metallic surface. While in front of Alex stood a pack of six monkeys.
Alex's expression immediately shone, as he shifted his claws around and sprinted to the monkeys.
As he jumped to a nearby branch he grabbed it, quickly swinging himself right in front of a nearby monkey.
On his downfall towards the monkey he gave a swift slash of his claw, leaving a gashing wound so devastating that it caused the monkey to be knocked out and plummet off the tree to its impending death.
As Alex landed he was immediately charged by the surrounding monkeys, who did not take kindly to his killing of their pack mate.
Alex reacted to this, as he threw off one of his claws, directly at the leading monkey, while with the open hand he summoned his katana.
Although the funneling and retransformation of the air was taking too long. So Alex jumped into a nearby gap between the branches.
As he momentarily began plummeting to the forest floor, yet after a brief moment of falling he caught himself on a branch. Pulling himself up to face the incoming monkeys.
Yet luckily the brief escape had given the katana enough time to take shape. With Alex grabbing the sword out of the air.
Tightly grasping the blade Alex brought the sword to his hip. Before slashing it across his body and slicing three of the remaining monkeys in half.
Except another monkey remained, as it bared its sharp claws towards Alex. Yet in Alex's state he reacted quickly.
Alex let go of his sword, letting it plummet to the battlefield below him, before bringing his remaining monkey claw to block the monkeys incoming attack.
After parrying the suicide dive the money was left on a branch which if narrowly stuck its landing, yet it had landed backwards, facing away from Alex.
The monkey turned around as quickly as it could, yet it was met by a leg near millimeters from its body.
The next moment the monkey was sent straight off the tree. Except Alex was weary of the monkey's durability.
So as a safety precaution Alex took off his other claw and sent it hurling at the monkey. Surprisingly the claw landed true, piercing the thick fur of the monkey.
Yet the moment Alex took off his last monkey claw his balance and other climbing skills immediately diminished.
So he sat down on a tree branch as he unsummoned both his ruins and summoned back the monkey claws.
While doing this he observed the battle, yet it didn't last as long as he had expected.
As Lyra had snuck behind the bird in the midst of the chaos and delivered a killing blow to the back of the bird.
…
After Alex had regained his climbing abilities and joined back up with the group Lyra gave the command to head back to the plane.
As the meat they had harvested from the bird was going to be well enough for what they needed.
So they headed back to the plane, while on the way back Alex found some more monkeys. While after his entire adventure that day he had collected twenty three monkey crystals.
While he had also collected a seemingly unrelated crystal, as even though Alex had only killed monkeys he had an unrelated crystal in his ruin list.
As Alex sat in the comforts of the plane staring blankly at an illusory hazy blue screen, displaying a couple words.
[… Mutated Monkey Crystal, Mutated Steel Crystal]
