Alex walked straight past the web without hesitation. Ignoring the web completely Alex continued routinely checking houses.
Alex was slowly getting closer to where the spider memory would be. Yet as he drew closer the spider webs kept growing in number.
As Alex got closer to his targeted memory the spider drew nearer as well. Yet he did not mind this.
With Alex already preparing to fight the spider. Then the illusory system screen appeared once again.
[Dream Spider has devoured Banana Gauntlet]
Meh it was a useless ruin anyway.
Alex disregarded the fact the spider had destroyed another one of his ruins. Already used to the idea.
Then Alex had finally noticed the spider on the horizon. It was just as big as last time, with few mutated parts.
As it crawled across the concrete on its thin sharp legs. While for some unknown reason it was moving away from Alex.
Yet Alex knew that he had not been noticed yet. This had greatly confused him, so he quickly decided to follow it.
As tailed behind the spider, following close in its footsteps. Alex wanted to explore his own mind and why not do that with company.
So Alex followed behind the spider, but he wasn't just thinking about following the spider. He was also observing the spider to find weaknesses.
In the short time Alex had been observing the spider he had already noticed a few. With its biggest one being its head, where Lyra had attacked.
Yet this was risky because of the newfound poison the spider had. Except the head was easily its most vulnerable spot.
Alex decided to continue observing the spider in case of another weak spot. While tailing the spider it suddenly stopped in front of a house.
Alex observed this in confusion, wondering why it had stopped. Then the spider started weaving a web.
After it had created a web and went to another house and weaved another web on top of it. Alex stayed still, continuing to observe the spider.
Then one of the webs started melting through one of the houses. As the house then started to crumble.
Jesus that damned spider just left one of my memories in ruin.
…
F**k that's one of my ruins isn't it!
The spider then moved to the ruined house and started eating the rubble left by it. Watching this Alex made the decision to intervene.
As Alex had no idea which of his ruins the spider was devouring at the moment. As he decided not to risk it.
Even though Alex wasn't confident that the house was actually one of his ruins he had a strong feeling. This feeling was enough to convince him.
Alex then began summoning the money claws while running toward the spider. On his way he quickly stopped by a nearby house and grabbed rock.
He grasped onto the rock, aimed, and threw it at the spider. To Alex's surprise the rock actually hit the spider.
The spider immediately stopped its first and turned toward Alex. Alex had succeeded in distracting the spider.
Then the monkey claws had finished summoning, as Alex grasped them out of the air and slipped his hands into the gloves.
After he had finished putting on the gloves he ran toward the spider. As they met in the middle of the road, staring each other down.
In their standoff the spider was the first to make its move. As if quickly swiped one of its side leg at Alex.
Luckily Alex reacted in time, ducking under the blade. As the leg flew over his head he ran toward the spider.
Then the spider slashed down toward Alex. Except this was exactly what Alex was waiting for.
As he wanted the opportunity to climb into the spider. Now the spider was just outwardly giving him that opportunity.
Alex then rolled the side of the blade, watching it dig into the ground. Then just as Alex had hoped the leg had gotten stuck.
Replicating what he had heard in Lyra's story Alex ran back toward the stuck leg and begun climbing it.
Except on his way up the slick surface of the spider leg caused him to slip. Yet luckily Alex caught his balance stabilizing.
Except he did not do this before the spider got its leg free. Sending its leg and Alex with it into the air.
Alex was sent flying up towards the sky, as he gazed into the endless black void above him. Then he came crashing back down.
Luckily the gods were on his side today and Alex had landed on top of the back of the spider carapace.
Alex quickly stood up and headed straight to the spider's exposed head. While the spider, annoyed at Alex's presence tried everything to throw him off.
As tremors were sent through the spider by its constant and chaotic movement Alex was almost thrown off.
Yet against the odds he had managed to stay atop the spider. Growing nearer to his target, the target that would hopefully kill the spider.
Then the spider jumped forward with insane speed. This time Alex was not able to stay atop the spider and was thrown forward.
On Alex's path to the ground was the spider's head, causing Alex to squirm in the air to get a good angle at the head.
Alex was now facing toward the spider, slightly above its head. As Alex brought his monkey claws up and prepared to strike them down.
Then at the critical moment Alex slammed the claws down as hard as he could. Landing directly on the spider face.
Yet what happened next was not the shattering of the spider skull. Or even it's cutting in half, but instead a ring.
That ring was similar to a bell, and the sound that followed shortly after that was like glass breaking.
Alex had just watched the monkey claws shatter into countless pieces right in front of him. Even though he had hit the spider's supposed weak spot.
Alex was then falling to the ground as he ducked and rolled dispersing the impact. During this roll he had avoided a glob, it was the poison Lyra had told him about.
Except Alex had somehow avoided the attack without even knowing. Then something to Alex right caught his eye.
As he watched the house the spider was eating shatter into sparkly blue dust. While he watched the monkey claws do the same.
Then Alex watched as the illusory system screen flickered into existence.
[Monkey Claws have been destroyed]
Although Alex was now able to connect the dots about things he was unable to. Confronted with his fight against the spider first.
Alex then started summoning his katana while avoiding the jabs and swipes of the spider.
The familiar gusts of wind funneled into Alex's hand while he watched his katana form. Then it had finally formed and he grasped tightly onto it before diving under one of the spider's attacking legs.
Then something slammed something into Alex's side. The immense pain and force caused Alex's katana to fly out of his hand.
As Alex flew in the air he noticed that another leg had swiped across the floor, hiding itself from Alex noticing it.
Damn that spider is adapting.
Then as Alex was about to collide with the asphalt road he watched his katana swing through the air.
It was heading straight for the spider's head, and while it spun it collided with the spider. Then causing Alex immense surprise and joy he watched as the sword cut into the spider.
What was even more surprising was the fact that the sword had landed in the same spot the money claws did.
While watching this Alex harshly collided with the ground. As he was sent rolling across the rough ground.
Alex was left with bruises and cuts, while he was left without a sword. Noticing this Alex immediately unsummoned his katana.
As he watched the blade disappear from the spider's tough skin. Then he once again started summoning the katana.
While the spider was left a relatively far distance from Alex, and yet it raised one of its legs striking it across the air.
Yet Alex was way out of range for the spider to be able to hit him. Or at least that's what he thought.
Alex then watched in absolute horror as a green blade of air was sent out of the spider attack and heading straight for Alex.
While this air blade also seemed to be unavoidable. As it was close enough to the ground where Alex could not duck under it, and high enough off the ground where Alex could not jump over it.
Then to add onto it the blade was also extremely long in length. Long enough where Alex could not move out of its way in time.
Yet Alex felt no fear as he realized he was just going to wake up. That was the treasure of fighting the spider.
Except the air blade collided with Alex, as a giant cut immediately formed in his back. This cut left Alex in so much pain it was unbearable.
Left in Agony Alex couldn't even move, lying on the asphalt road as he heard scraping sounds heading his direction.
The spider was slowly walking toward Alex, as he dragged his sharp legs across the asphalt. Creating an extremely loud and terrifying sound.
Sh*t, f**k, is this how I'm going to die?!
Alex was left in extreme fear, as after the air blade hit him he had lost hope that he'd wake up.
As to Alex he had now already died, and he had still not awoken. While he was also fearing the impending approach of the spider.
Before noticing a shadow looming over him. as he used all his strength just to turn his head around, wanting one last look at the spider.
Once his head turned around enough he was met with the extremely chilling sight of the spider sending its leg straight toward Alex.
Yet right before Alex was hit with the attack he woke up. As his body sat up immediately, sweat dripped down his face.
It took a few moments for Alex to realize he had not died, and had even woken up. Afterwards he realized he wasn't excited.
Instead Alex was instilled with fear, as the drama inducing event he had gone through was engraved into his mind.
He couldn't get the memory of the spider jabbing down on him out of his mind. Even if his eyes were wide open he still saw it.
Alex was being haunted by the same memory flashing in front of him repeatedly. While Alex had not noticed that the illusory system screen had not appeared.
And instead his vision lay empty other than his imagination surrounding his vision, playing his 'death' on repeat.
Yet there was another thing Alex had not noticed, a crowd of people all standing around one sleeping man.
