Several days passed with Axiom training his ki control and eating, while Kukki simply got comfortable with him.
Waking up, Axiom saw that he was alone on the bed. Figuring that Kukki had gone to work, he went to the kitchen and found a few sandwiches on the counter. Grabbing them, he began to eat, before realizing something — today was the day Cell was going to fight the Z-Fighters.
Grabbing the rest of the sandwiches, he flew to Cell's arena.
__
The air between the Z-Fighters was tense. This was the day the fate of their world would be decided.
The tension in the air lightened slightly when they saw Axiom arrive with food in his hands.
Goku and Gohan were happy to see him, while the others were weirded out that he had brought food. This wasn't a show — why had he brought food?
Axiom floated above the arena, eating his sandwich and waiting for the fights to start. He waved at them.
Gohan waved back before focusing on Cell, who was looking at Hercule, who was on the arena talking to a reporter.
Axiom looked at the reporter in annoyance as he badmouthed Goku just because of his concern for Hercule — as if Hercule had the power to win against Cell. Axiom felt no such thing.
Axiom put a sandwich in his mouth as he prepared to move, and quickly swooped in, grabbing the reporter, who dropped the microphone in surprise. Axiom flew upward until the oxygen in the air thinned and the reporter stopped screaming, holding him at that height a little longer to make sure he wouldn't wake up during the Cell Games.
"Such impudence," Axiom muttered to himself before flying down and setting the near-dead reporter on the ground, glaring at the camera crew.
Hercule's sweat dripped down his forehead. "I get it! You two were colluding, trying to make yourself look tough! Well, I'm not gonna buy it!" Hercule rationalized to himself while talking into the microphone he grabbed from the ground.
Axiom glared at Hercule. "Just get it over with already."
Hercule suppressed the urge to yell at Axiom, knowing deep down that no amount of tricks could bring him that far up — and he might end up like the reporter.
"Hm! You make a good point! I have to win this, for the entirety of the world!" Hercule seemed heroic to the people watching, while inside he had begun to doubt that these were all just some extravagant tricks.
He gave one of the camera crew the microphone and went back to the arena, throwing his cape off and taking off his champion's belt before taking a capsule out of his pocket and throwing it onto the ground. Out popped a duffel bag.
From the duffel bag, he took out 15 concrete tiles, stacking them high before concentrating and chopping down, breaking 14 of the tiles and leaving one at the bottom.
Hercule continued posturing as if he had done something great, while the Z-Fighters, Cell, and Axiom looked at him like he was a moron.
Hercule stopped and looked at Cell, smirking. "Cell! Look at these tiles! This is what you'll look like one minute from now!" He looked smug for a moment before putting up a fighting stance and charging at Cell, kicking and punching but doing no damage. Then Cell swiped his hand to the left, throwing Hercule several meters away into a hill.
Much to the dismay of everyone except the camera crew, Hercule barely got up and began talking about how he lost his footing and just needed to recuperate, and he'd win against Cell.
Axiom looked back at the arena, noticing that Goku had stepped onto it, beginning his fight with Cell. It served to shock Hercule and made for a good scene to eat to for Axiom.
__
Time passed with Cell destroying the arena and Goku destroying half of Cell with a point-blank Kamehameha, before Cell regenerated, much to the dismay of almost everyone.
They fought some more, with Goku forcing Cell to use a ki force field. Then, much to the surprise of everyone, Goku gave up and selected Gohan as the next fighter, before throwing Cell a senzu bean so he could recover any minor wounds.
Cell fought Gohan for a few minutes before Gohan said that fighting was pointless and that he would never kill anyone — not even someone like Cell. This angered Cell. He saw how strong Gohan was, and yet he dared not to try his hardest against him.
Cell fought Gohan seriously and incapacitated him before rushing over to the Z-Fighters and grabbing the rest of the senzu beans, kicking Gohan away when he stood up and began flying at him.
All of a sudden, Android 16 came from behind Cell and latched onto him, intending to self-destruct, only to find out that when he was repaired, Dr. Briefs had removed the bomb inside him.
This gave Cell the chance to fire a blast at Android 16, destroying him completely.
He looked around, counting the Z-Fighters — not counting Axiom — and opened up his tail, firing out seven smaller Cells and sending them to the Z-Fighters.
Looking back at Gohan, he noticed that Gohan's ki had increased from anger, but it wasn't enough. So Cell ordered the Cell Juniors to kill the Z-Fighters.
Then Hercule, who had been hiding, ran over and threw the head of Android 16, who tried to motivate Gohan.
Seeing this, Cell knew it was a good approach — but it wasn't his approach — so he stomped on Android 16's head, destroying it.
At the sight of Android 16's death, Gohan snapped, transforming into Super Saiyan 2, surprising everyone there — including Axiom, who had just been watching, not seeing a point in interfering in any way.
Gohan began killing the Cell Juniors in a single hit, shocking everyone with his strength.
Gohan looked at Cell and began fighting him, easily overpowering the bio-android, even destroying his Kamehameha by barely charging one of his own, blowing off Cell's legs and one of his arms.
But instead of finishing him, Gohan let Cell suffer out of arrogance, letting him live a while longer.
Cell, now enraged, bulked up and charged at Gohan, only to be so overpowered that he vomited out Android 18, reverting to his semi-perfect form.
Seeing himself revert, Cell couldn't accept it, opting to self-destruct rather than be humiliated any longer.
Axiom looked at Cell's rapidly expanding form and, without wasting any time, flew up into space, moving until he was out of the solar system, waiting for the explosion.
