Saavan opened his eyes, but this time, neither the girl nor his boss was there. The room was completely silent. He waited for an hour, then two... He thought he was in the same loop again. Just then, the door opened, and his parents came in.
Seeing Saavan, their belongings dropped from their hands. They ran to him and burst into tears. Saavan was shocked. He couldn't understand why they were so emotional.
"Saavan! My child... you're awake! We never expected it," his mother said, sobbing.
Saavan asked in a shaky voice, "
What happened? How long have I been here? I thought it was only a few days."
What his father said, wiping away his tears, knocked the ground from under Saavan's feet. "Son, you were in a coma for seven years. Seven long years! You haven't even woken up since that accident."
Saavan's mind went blank. Seven years? His mind flashed with such speed—that 7-foot body, that office job, the mall massacre, and that girl—everything flashed through his mind like a movie. He wondered, "If I've been here for seven years, what was all that? Was my mind weaving these stories in a coma? Or was it all true, and this hospital a lie?"
Just then, the doctor came in. He was stunned to see Saavan conscious. "It's a miracle! Usually, in such cases, people remain in a coma for ten or twenty years or never wake up. Saavan's recovery is very fast."
The doctor examined Saavan thoroughly and said, "
We'll keep him under our observation for a month or two. If everything goes well, we'll allow him to go home."
The scene shifts—a month later.
Saavan was feeling much better, although his body was still a little weak. The doctor discharged him. Saavan's parents supported him and carried him out of the hospital.
As Saavan descended the hospital stairs, he turned and looked at the black building. The same question still lingered in his mind—was that seven years of darkness a reality,
or was that a life soaked in blood?
As he headed home, he faintly glimpsed the same black mist on the side of the road that he had seen in his 'dream'. A cold smile appeared on Saavan's face. He realized that while Saavan might have woken up, the Aryan inside him was still alive.
