The elevator doors hadn't even finished hissing shut when the world exploded.

BOOM—!!!

The wall beside them disintegrated. Bricks and mortar turned into shrapnel as a massive force punched through the masonry. The magnificent stag specimen hanging there was shredded instantly, its glass eyes shattering against the far wall.

Through the swirling dust and debris, a mountain of dark green canvas stepped into the corridor. The T-103 Tyrant hadn't bothered with the stone door. It had simply walked through the building to get to them.

"Get in! Move!" Noah roared, his voice cracking under the strain of the adrenaline. He shoved Leon into the elevator, then shielded Claire and Sherry as they scrambled inside.

Noah smashed the "Close Door" button. The metal plates began their agonizingly slow crawl toward each other. Outside, the Tyrant took one heavy, measured step. Its pale, dead eyes locked onto theirs through the narrowing gap.

Just as the doors were about to meet, a massive, metal-clad hand thrust into the opening.

Screeech—!!!

The motor groaned. The steel plates buckled. The Tyrant was prying the elevator open with the casual strength of a man opening a curtain. Sherry's screams were muffled against Claire's chest as the girl spiraled into total terror.

"Fire!" Leon bellowed.

He and Noah opened up simultaneously, a hail of 9mm rounds slamming into the Tyrant's face. The monster didn't even flinch; it simply raised its free arm, its metal glove sparking as it batted the bullets away like annoying insects.

Despair hit Noah like a physical wave. They were trapped in a metal box with a god of death.

CLANG—!!!

An earth-shattering impact rang out from the hallway. A rusted steel pipe, thick as a human thigh, whistled through the air and slammed into the Tyrant's spine with savage force.

The Tyrant buckled. Its grip on the elevator doors loosened. It slowly, mechanically turned its head to face the new intruder.

Standing in the dust was a nightmare in a tattered lab coat. His right arm had mutated into a horrific, chitinous claw, ending in daggers of bone. But the most grotesque feature was the shoulder: a massive, bloodshot eyeball had burst through the flesh, spinning frantically in its socket.

The creature—William Birkin—roared, a sound of pure agony and madness. He swung the pipe again, a primal, bone-crushing strike that forced the Tyrant back.

As the two titans collided, the elevator doors finally found their seal. The cabin vibrated and began its descent, cutting off the sounds of metal hitting meat.

But in the last second, a voice had drifted through the gap. A raspy, distorted rasp that sounded like it was being dragged through broken glass.

"Sher... Sherry..."

The word hit the little girl like a lightning bolt. She looked up, her blue eyes wide with a devastating realization. As the doors closed, she whispered a single word into the silence:

"Da... Daddy..."

The elevator reached the bottom with a soft ding. The silence in the cabin was suffocating, broken only by Sherry's quiet, rhythmic sobbing.

"He didn't hurt us," Claire whispered, stroking the girl's hair. "Even like that... he was trying to save you, Sherry. He still loves you."

Leon stood in the corner, his jaw tight. William Birkin. The man who had sold his soul to Umbrella and bought the Chief's loyalty. It was a cruel, Shakespearean irony: the man who created the hell they were walking through was now a monster whose only remaining spark of humanity was the need to protect his child.

"The kid's innocent," Leon said, his voice low. "She didn't ask for any of this."

The doors slid open. They stepped out into a medieval nightmare. The walls were rough-hewn stone, weeping with moisture and moss. Torch-style braziers cast long, flickering shadows that danced like ghosts.

Noah pulled a medical mask from his pack and handed it to Claire. "For the girl. The air is toxic down here."

They pushed open a set of massive, iron-banded wooden doors. The smell of formalin and rot was a physical weight. They were in a taxidermy lab, but it wasn't just animals on the shelves. Among the wolf heads and bear skulls, human remains sat on display—skulls used as candle holders, their bone bleached white under layers of yellow wax.

Claire shielded Sherry's eyes, pressing her head into her shoulder. "Don't look, honey. Just keep your eyes closed."

At the far end of the room, under a single flickering bulb, sat a desk. An unnervingly obese man—Chief Brian Irons—was slumped over the mahogany surface. His body was twitching in rhythmic spasms.

And beneath his massive bulk, a sliver of white fabric was visible. A woman in a dress.

"Stay back," Noah whispered, his grip tightening on the rebar. "Something's wrong."
