Chapter 1 — The Boy Who Remembered Another World

The first thing Aiden noticed was the wind.

It was gentle.

Too gentle.

The breeze brushed across his face like a whisper, carrying with it the scent of grass, apples, and something sweet he couldn't identify.

For a moment, he simply lay there, staring upward.

The sky above him was impossibly blue.

Not the dull, polluted blue of the city he remembered, but something vivid and endless.

His mind struggled to make sense of it.

Where… am I?

He tried to sit up.

His body didn't respond the way he expected.

Instead of the strength he was used to, his arms were small and weak.

Tiny.

He slowly lifted his hands into view.

Small fingers.

Soft skin.

A child's hands.

His breath caught in his throat.

"…What?"

Fragments of memory flooded his mind.

A computer screen.

Late-night gaming sessions.

Instant noodles.

The sound of traffic outside his apartment window.

Then—

A blinding light.

A loud crash.

And nothing.

Now he was here.

In a body that clearly wasn't his own.

His heart began to race.

"I… died?"

The words felt strange leaving his mouth.

His voice was higher than it should have been.

Younger.

The realization slowly settled in.

Reincarnation.

Isekai.

The kind of ridiculous story he used to read online at three in the morning.

Except now it wasn't fiction.

It was reality.

Aiden slowly stood up.

The grass around him brushed against his legs.

In the distance he saw stone walls rising into the sky.

A city.

Windmills turned lazily above its rooftops.

Something about the place felt familiar.

Too familiar.

"…Mondstadt?"

His eyes widened.

He knew that city.

He had seen it hundreds of times on his computer screen.

Because this world—

This was the world of Genshin Impact.

He stared at the distant city in disbelief.

"You've got to be kidding me…"

A laugh escaped his lips.

Half shocked.

Half terrified.

He had played the game for years.

He knew the nations.

The archons.

The events that would eventually shake the entire continent.

And now he had been reborn inside it.

His thoughts were interrupted by a sudden flash of light.

Something appeared in front of him.

A translucent screen.

Floating in the air.

For a moment Aiden froze.

Then he blinked.

"…No way."

The screen flickered.

Text slowly formed across it.

The screen hovered for a few seconds before fading away.

Aiden stared at the empty air where it had been.

"…A panel system."

He let out a long breath.

Of course.

A reincarnation story wouldn't be complete without one.

At least the rules were clear.

No Vision.

No elemental power.

Which meant he couldn't use Pyro yet.

Fair enough.

That was how this world worked.

Visions were gifts from the gods.

Without one, humans couldn't control elemental energy.

Still…

The panel had said something interesting.

"Constellation… dormant?"

Aiden frowned slightly.

Constellations normally belonged to playable characters.

Not random civilians.

That meant something about him was unusual.

But before he could think further—

A voice called out from behind him.

"Hey! Kid!"

Aiden turned.

A man was walking toward him from the road leading to Mondstadt.

Tall.

Dark clothing.

Red hair tied loosely behind his head.

The man looked slightly annoyed.

"You shouldn't wander around outside the city alone."

Aiden blinked.

Wait…

Red hair.

Sharp eyes.

A familiar black coat.

He immediately recognized him.

Diluc.

The owner of Angel's Share.

One of Mondstadt's strongest fighters.

And right now…

He was staring directly at Aiden.

"…Uh."

Aiden panicked for a moment.

What was he supposed to say?

Diluc sighed and rubbed his temple.

"Where are your parents?"

Aiden hesitated.

Then a memory surfaced in his mind.

Not from his previous life.

But from this body.

A man working at the tavern.

A woman with dark skin and fiery eyes holding a spear.

"My father… works for you."

Diluc paused.

"…Name?"

Aiden answered instinctively.

"Marcus."

Recognition flashed across Diluc's face.

"I see."

His expression softened slightly.

"Then you shouldn't be out here alone."

Diluc gestured toward the road.

"Come. I'll take you back."

Aiden followed quietly.

The massive gates of Mondstadt slowly grew larger as they approached.

Windmills turned above the rooftops.

Music drifted faintly through the streets.

This place looked exactly like the game.

But it felt far more alive.

People laughed.

Merchants argued.

Children ran through the streets.

It wasn't a game anymore.

It was a real world.

Eventually they reached a familiar building.

Warm golden light poured from its windows.

The sign above the door read:

Angel's Share.

Angel's Share.

Diluc pushed the door open.

Inside, the tavern buzzed with noise.

Music.

Laughter.

Clinking mugs.

Behind the counter stood a man Aiden immediately recognized.

His father.

The man looked up in surprise.

"Aiden?!"

He rushed forward.

"Where did you go?!"

Before Aiden could answer, his father grabbed him in a tight hug.

"You scared your mother half to death."

Aiden blinked.

Mother.

Another memory surfaced.

A tall woman from Natlan.

A warrior.

A spear fighter.

That explained the weapon affinity on the panel.

Diluc spoke calmly from behind them.

"I found him outside the city."

His father bowed immediately.

"My apologies, Master Diluc."

Diluc waved it off.

"Just keep an eye on him."

He walked back behind the bar.

The conversation ended there.

But as Aiden sat quietly at one of the tavern tables…

He stared at his hands again.

This world was real.

Dangerous.

Full of monsters, gods, and wars he knew were coming.

But now he had something else.

Knowledge.

A second life.

And somewhere deep inside his chest…

A faint warmth he couldn't yet explain.

He closed his eyes.

If he was really going to live in this world—

Then he would do more than just survive.

He would become strong.

Strong enough to travel across Teyvat.

Strong enough to face whatever destiny awaited him.

And someday…

Strong enough to uncover the secret hidden within his own blood.

Because even without a Vision…

Something deep inside him was already beginning to stir.

And Aiden had a feeling—

This second life was only just beginning.
