Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

Author Notes: With this chapter, I am officially done with the stockpile of chapters I had for this story. From here on out, I will be actively working on it.

Also, from the next chapter, there will be a bit of a timeskip after which we will jump straight into the Pacific Rim arc.

Mars. January, 2000.

In the atmosphere of the red planet, the population of the indigenous Clefables was the first to feel the familiar mental connection before the distant thunder boom reached their ears.

Soon after, the Clefairies and the Cleffables felt it as well and jumped in joy as the 'alien dragon' arrived once again at their home.

However, they soon felt cautious as they felt a different metal connection form as well. This one feeling far more chaotic and raw compared to the streamlined and experienced from Rayquaza's mind.

Soon, they saw the familiar emerald dragon slither across the surface and reach the little pink creatures, but their attention was caught by the colossal crimson being that was akin to a moving mountain.

'Calm down, little ones. He is my brother that I've told you about before.'

'Yo, I am Groudon!'

'....The humans really corrupted you.'

'Fuck off!!'

The little creatures stared with confusion and mild amusement at the back and forth between the titanic beings before getting used to Groudon's presence.

Then, they went back to their usual selves and started dancing around and climbing on the primordial creatures happily.

'You know, this feels very familiar to how those hatchlings of the humans climb up on me.'

'Get used to it. These little ones are far more innocent and curious than humans, so they won't be as easily goaded to get off you.'

The crimson primordial chuffed in amusement, watching as the little creatures clambered up his plates and curiously observed and rubbed across his body.

Meanwhile, Rayquaza headed to the magnetic field 'node' nearby and floated into the air, sighing in relief at being in his element again.

'You really need to learn of a way to gain true flight, Rayquaza. This method of depending on Magnetic fields is really starting to limit your freedom.'

'True. But how do I even do that? Last I checked, I don't have wings. And even if I did, I would lose more energy flapping those than I would if I simply surfed with the magnetic fields.'

'Can't you 'adapt' a set of wings or something?'

The flat look Rayquaza gave his brother was enough to make Groudon turn away with an embarrassed look.

'It doesn't work like that, Groudon.'

Groudon nodded and turned to look at the little blobs of pink flesh, an idea slowly forming in his head.

However, he shook his head and filed that thought away for later.

For now, they had much more important stuff to do.

After the duo were sure that the little ones were used to Groudon's presence, Rayquaza asked them to follow the duo towards the crater nearby.

The Cleffa, Clefairy, and Clefables watched curiously as the crimson dinosaur-like creature placed its claws on the ground and released a deep sigh.

The gaps between his plates pulsing like a heartbeat as heat erupted from his body.

The little ones felt the heatwave but thought nothing of it since it was tolerable. What they did not know was that Groudon was still in his suppressed state, not daring to release his full power lest he vaporize these little ones.

For nearly an hour, Groudon did this 'probing' of his before letting go of his power and shaking his head.

'It is much worse than we thought, Rayquaza. The Core of the planet is not a solid, but is still in a molten form. However, the materials that make up this liquid are stratified, separated. That is the reason why this planet is not able to maintain a proper magnetic field of its own. If I want to restart the planet's 'heart', I will have to head down there in my true form and churn it manually with my power.'

'How long will that take?'

'I don't know. A few days, weeks, years? I have never tried anything like this, so it is impossible to predict the timeframe.'

'Hm. Let's put that on the back burner for now. Let's get to the main reason why we are here.'

'Alright.'

Groudon lurched and heaved before hurling out a large cluster of the Hollow Earth Crystals that he stored within his stomach, making Rayquaza wince while the little ones whined in disgust and concern.

Groudon glared at the peanut gallery.

'What's with that reaction? It's not like I have any other way to transport stuff from Earth to here, you know?'

'...Yeah. I know. But it is still disgusting.'

Rayquaza knew that his brother really did not have any other way to carry these crystals from Earth to this world. While Groudon could manipulate the minerals in his body and turn his body into a material that was receptive to his magnetic fields, allowing Rayquaza to 'throw' him at Mars just like he throws himself with his coil gun mechanism, this manipulation did not extend to such an extent that he could create constructs out of the earth or its minerals.

That kind of Geokinesis was out of Groudon's ability for now.

Groudon picked up the pile of crystals and slowly melted the ground around him, turning it into molten material, before planting the shards one by one, utilizing the temperature and pressure to condense more of it with the crystal lattice of the 'seed' as the base.

However, what happened next was something that neither of the duo had ever expected.

The Clefables, the adults of their species, caught onto what the two primordials of Earth were trying to do, and out of their violation, jumped into the crater, approaching the molten rock without fear.

Before Rayquaza could even react, the little blobs jumped across the lake of pressurized lava field with their gravity manipulation and landed on Groudon's body.

Then, as one, they started to sing in a soft tune as their ability swelled with their tone.

Deep within the lava, Groudon felt the 'seeds' rapidly germinate. Their very structure changing with the interference of the gravitational pressure added onto them by the collective effort of the Clefables.

Then, the miracle happened.

Like actual plants germinating out of the earth, the crystals started to grow at a rapid pace, turning into tiny crystalline structures that resembled floral life.

Soon, the lava cooled into solid rock as Groudon's control slipped in sheer shock.

Now, within a blackened volcanic rock stretching across the crater's surface, stood many little 'saplings' of crystals, glowing with ethereal blue light under the glare of the sun.

'.....What the fuck just happened?'

'....I think we succeeded?'

The two primordials were left speechless as they tried to comprehend what exactly happened.

Meanwhile, the little ones just jumped up and down happily within the newly formed field of crystal plants, content with the simple joy of helping their 'friends' in their endeavors.
