Somewhere in the Challenger Deep.
An ancient alpha predator was slumbering after a fulfilling meal. The first in the past thousands of years, courtesy of the humans and their 'weapons'.
However, his slumber did not last long as the ocean around him churned and became uninhabitable for any living being that was not him.
Annoyed at having his sleep disturbed, and knowing exactly who had arrived thanks to the anomaly, the Alpha of the surface world grunted and turned over, facing away from the new arrival with a huff.
'Don't be like that now. I know you are awake. I saw you eat that toy of the humans some time ago.'
'Go away, Kyoger. I am hybernating.'
'Oh? Finally learned to use words to communicate? Godzilla?'
Godzilla, the Alpha of the Earth's surface, grunted with annoyance.
'Mothra wouldn't shut up until I learned it. No thanks to you three.'
A chuckle rang out in Godzilla's mind as the being floating several miles away from him, so that he does not accidentally kill Godzilla with his mere presence, expressed his amusement.
'That definitely sounds like her. Also, why blame us?'
'Because if you three, especially that old man up there, did not fill her head with this strange concept, she would never have forced me to learn this.'
'...You really don't like using words, huh?'
Godzilla sighed, producing a major turbulence in the water around him before finally facing the abyss of the ocean, knowing that Kyoger was nearby, hidden in the darkness.
'I feel them to be....limiting. Putting thoughts into words feels restrictive compared to the true breadth of knowledge and emotion that can be transmitted mentally. I feel like words can be misinterpreted, while the thoughts transmitted are the best way to communicate.'
'Why not use both? That's how we three communicate with each other, after all. Transmitting our thoughts while also using words to clarify that which remains vague in the thoughts.'
'Why are you here? Kyoger? It can't be to just check up on me. Groudon already did that a century ago.'
Kyoger transmitted his amusement at the words, realizing that his brother had secretly moved out of the Hollow Earth to check up on Godzilla without telling them.
However, Kyoger would not tell Rayquaza about it, keeping this incident secret from Groudon. Not because he was worried about Rayquaza's reaction, which would mostly consist of Groudon getting yelled at by the youngest of the trio, with a token attack on his body.
No. Kyoger was worried that Rayquaza would immediately use this as an excuse to flee into the Hollow Earth, dodging what he and his brother had finally talked the youngest into doing after such a long struggle.
They had finally convinced him to meet the little ones of that land, who were made up of the descendants of all the people that Rayquaza ever helped.
The primal aspect of the sea shook his head and focused back on the present.
'Well, you are not wrong. I am here for a purpose, but it is nothing serious.'
'Groudon and I want you to go to the Hollow Earth, to Groudon's layer. He and I are about to experiment with something, and we would like you to be there to keep an eye on things and make sure nothing bad happens.'
'Why not the old man?'
'Rayquaza is...occupied with an old conflict at the moment. As for Mothra, she has already entered her next cycle and is currently in her egg form. That leaves you as the only one who can even remotely stand by our side in terms of power.'
Godzilla snorted at those words and rose to his full height, preparing to swim to the nearest portal to the Hollow Earth.
'That is an exaggeration. You can kill me by just swimming past me. Groudon can step on me, and I'd be nothing more than a smear on the ground. And there is no need to even talk about the old man up there. There is no way I am anywhere strong enough to challenge any of you three.'
'Fine, fine. Enough of degrading yourself. You coming or not?'
'Yeah. I'll be there. But tell me, what exactly are you two trying to do?'
Godzilla felt the melancholy mixed with hope from Kyoger.
'Something that just might give us the ability to control our power, allowing us to move freely on the planet.'
Then, Godzilla felt slight panic from the ancient being.
'Don't tell Rayquaza! We want this to be a surprise when he gets back.'
'Sure. Not like I talk that much with the old man anyway.'
'That is a you problem. Rayquaza felt really sad when you cut off all communications after becoming an Alpha all those years ago by defeating that three-headed punk. What was it Rayquaza called it again? Ah! Right. The 'rebellious phase,' as he said.'
'Quit it already! I am going down right now.'
With that, Godzilla swam into the portal in a hurry, unwilling to listen to any more of his 'dark history' from the overgrown whale.
Kyoger, on the other hand, just chuckled and waited for Godzilla to go down before heading out into the Mariana Trench himself, swimming into his personal wormhole, created long ago by a combined effort of the three, since a normal portal can't really sustain the sheer power of Groudon and Kyoger.
'Godzilla's here. Looks like you managed to talk him into this relatively easily.'
'Who do you take me for? Of course I did.'
Groudon chuckled over their link. While in his lair, his short stubby tail wagged happily while he munched on one of the strange crystal mountains, the same crystal that gave Godzilla his atomic breath in the first place.
The area around him had long since turned into a magma hellscape thanks to his body temperature, yet, somehow, these crystals remained intact, which was what gave Groudon and Kyoger their idea in the first place.
Over in the distance, standing at a safe enough distance to not be caught in Groudon's heat zone, Godzilla sat down and watched silently, waiting for whatever these two ancient beings that predated his entire species were going to do.
Soon, water flooded the area, making steam explode across the area as Groudon's heat clashed with Kyogre's water.
'You ready?'
'Yes. But are we sure this will even work?'
'I don't know. But we got to try something, right? Can't always depend on Rayquaza to find a solution for everything.'
'True. Let'st get to it.'
Godzilla tensed as the glowing patterns on the two primal forces flared with power, flooding the entire Hollow Earth with their presence.
With a swipe of his tail, Groudon shattered the nearest mountain of the blue crystal and held two of the largest pieces in his claws, passing one of them to Kyoger, who held it in his open maw, while also bringing out a whole lot of other materials as backup, just in case this method failed.
'Alright. Let's do this.'
As one, the two colossal beings flooded their respective crystals with their innate powers. Taking inspiration from Rayquaza's ability to store his food within his body, ready to be used for his so-called 'Mega-Evolution' form.
Groudon concentrated on his internal power, consciously trying to supress the heat within his body as much as possible, before swallowing the crystal chunk.
Then, with conscious effort, he stopped the crystal from being instantly digested by his unique biology, built of digesting literally anything he eats, just like his brother.
Within the swirling magma pit that he calls his stomach, Groudon pulled much of his internal heat as he could into the crystal while also taking advantage of the strange energies that made up the anomalous crystal that populated the Hollow Earth.
And miraculously, it worked.
Slowly, the ground started to cool down around Groudon as the crystal within his gut morphed.
Unknown to the giant lizard made of magma, the crystal within his gut acted similarly to the core of a planet, creating a gravitational field that pulled the majority of the heat from his body along with the churning magma in his stomach.
Deep within the crystal, the mysterious energy pulled on the heavy materials within the magma, such as Iridium, Osmium, and other such things, into itself, rearranging its molecular structure to form a crystal lattice similar to a crimson jewel with a crude Omega symbol at its center if it were viewed from a certain angle.
While this was happening, Kyoger was not idle as he too swallowed the crystal, mimicking his brother and guiding it to the center of his body where his own internals were located.
Unlike Groudon, however, Kyoger's internal body consisted of impossible fluids existing at extreme pressures thanks to his exotic biology.
The crystal pulled on these fluids and compressed into a core of what is known as Super-Ionic Ice, or Ice XVIII. A phase of water that is solid like metal yet is conducting like a liquid.
Within this exotic blue sphere, a crude symbol made from the lattice of the structure formed that looked similar to the 'Alpha' symbol if viewed from a certain angle.
Additionally, due to the exotic nature of Kyoger's internal fluds and their interaction with this ice, the ancient being now produced his own magnetic field that acted like a crude imitation of Rayquaza's own ability.
He could not fly. But with this new magnetic field, Kyoger could jump out of the ocean and remain airborne for a handful of seconds at worst and at least a minute at best.
Once the steam finally dissipated, Godzilla beheld the two ancient beings that were no longer walking calamities.
The perpetual magma glow and impossible heat radiation off of Groudon were gone. He now held a form made of segmented crimson plates that glowed with power. For the first time in his life, able to step on solid ground without having it melt instantly under his power.
Similarly, Kyoger happily floated in a large lake created from his power. No longer glowing with power, the heavy pressure of the deep that always surrounded him, threatening to implode anything that got too close, was gone.
For the first time in the millions of years they have existed, these two monsters were now capable of free locomotion without threatening the lives of everything that lived around them.
As the two basked in this newfound 'freedom' of theirs, Godzilla only had one thought dominating his mind.
'Mothra will not shut up about missing this when she wakes up.'
