Cherreads

Chapter 6 - Chapter 3.1 — Frederick Huang’s “Thirteenth Aunt”?

A soft groan sounded behind him.

Shaun Cole turned his gaze toward the woman lying on the bed.

Mo Guilan slowly opened her eyes. She clutched her aching head first, then looked around the room.

When she saw Shaun Cole, terror immediately surged back onto her face.

"If you scream again," Shaun Cole said calmly, sitting down on a chair beside the bed,

"I wouldn't mind taking a little extra trouble to throw you into the sea as well."

Beneath his hood, the corner of his lips curved into a faint smile.

Mo Guilan instantly covered her mouth.

Because of the hood, she couldn't see his entire face—only those thin, well-shaped lips and that unsettling smile. Though he was smiling, she was absolutely certain of one thing:

If she screamed again, he would truly do it.

"That's better," Shaun Cole said lightly.

"I think there's been a misunderstanding between us."

"The people you saw me kill were hijackers. They had taken control of this ship. By the time I discovered them, they had already murdered the crew."

"I had no choice but to deal with them."

"After that, I needed to… clean things up. That's what you walked in on."

"So now," he asked, "do you understand?"

Mo Guilan blinked several times, then nodded.

"Good," Shaun Cole continued.

"Since that's settled, can you tell me your name?"

"I… I'm Mo Guilan," she replied nervously, lowering her hand.

"Oh?" Shaun Cole tilted his head slightly.

"That name sounds familiar. I feel like I've heard it somewhere before."

"Where are you from?"

"I… I'm from Foshan," Mo Guilan answered.

Shaun Cole's eyes flickered.

Suddenly, a fragment of memory surfaced in his mind.

No way… could it really be such a coincidence?

"Do you know Frederick Huang?" he asked.

"Ah?! You know Feihong?!"

Mo Guilan shot upright in bed, shouting.

Seeing her reaction, Shaun Cole stood up from the chair and looked out toward the endless sea.

Have I arrived in… Frederick Huang's world?

Behind him, Mo Guilan quietly climbed down from the bed.

Whoosh—!

In an instant, her hand formed a blade and chopped toward Shaun Cole's neck.

But it was as if Shaun Cole had eyes on his back.

Just before her strike could land, he stepped forward casually and spoke coldly:

"If I see you make a move like that again…"

"You will really die."

Mo Guilan froze in place.
