Chapter 41 - The World Within the Box

Seeing how excited the two of them were, Valerius silently moved to the side, folded his arms, and leaned against the wall.

They were celebrating now, sure—but had they considered the fact that countless eyes were watching them from outside?

After a long while, the two finally calmed down. Only then did they realize they were still holding onto each other.

"—Hiss!!!"

They hurriedly jumped apart. An awkward silence spread through the room.

This was bad.

In the heat of the moment, they had completely forgotten they were still inside the game arena. Who knew what kind of rumors were already flying outside by now.

"Ahem… let's draw the prize."

Suppressing the embarrassment, Sunday walked over to his lottery machine.

This was chosen by Robin—there was no way it wouldn't be something good.

He pulled the lever.

A white box dropped out.

"What is this?"

Sunday turned his gaze toward Valerius, who was still watching the show from the sidelines. The meaning was clear: Explain.

The moment Valerius saw the box, his pupils contracted slightly. Internally, he clicked his tongue in admiration—Sunday's luck is really something.

He stepped forward, examined it carefully, and after confirming, looked back up.

"This is a good item. Very useful for you."

"Oh? Something suited to me?"

That instantly piqued Sunday's interest. If even Valerius said it was a good match, then it had to be something special.

"Take a look."

Valerius opened the box and gestured for Sunday to lean closer.

"Inside is a complete world. You can interfere with its development at will. All the life within it is simulated—and you can reset it at any time."

The moment those words fell, Sunday's expression grew serious.

He looked into the box.

Inside were mountains and rivers, clouds and mist drifting lazily. Scattered across the land were small figures dressed in animal hides, wielding crude weapons as they chased after prey.

As Sunday leaned closer, a massive face appeared in the sky of that miniature world.

The tiny people froze as if struck by lightning. They dropped to their knees at once, kowtowing repeatedly, babbling incomprehensible words in panic and reverence.

"This… really is a small world."

Sunday's eyes shone with fascination. He hadn't expected such an unbelievable thing to be contained in such a small box—let alone one whose course he could personally influence.

After a long while, he finally straightened up.

"Well? Not bad, right?" Valerius said lightly. "That idea of yours—you can test it out in here first."

At that pointed remark, Sunday's heart skipped a beat.

So Valerius really did know.

He took a deep breath, then looked at Valerius seriously.

"Thank you."

Truthfully, he wasn't entirely confident that his vision was flawless. But now, with something like this in hand—just as Valerius said—he could conduct experiments, a kind of social simulation.

What worked could be preserved.

What didn't… could be discovered early.

Perfect.

"It's nothing."

Valerius waved it off casually, though inwardly he was thinking: So Sunday still hasn't given up on that dream of his.

At first, Valerius had considered exposing things early, just to prevent Sunday from stirring up trouble that might disrupt the game itself. But now things were different.

Go ahead—wreck the world inside the box as much as you like. No one would complain.

[Ruan Mei]: Something like this actually exists?!

Seeing it, Ruan Mei's interest was immediately ignited. She had long sought the secrets of life itself, but her experiments tended to spiral out of control—sometimes she'd accidentally "revive" an entire planet. With this box, she could create freely without consequence.

[Herta]: …I'm tempted.

[Screwllum]: Even without interference, simply observing the development of a civilization would be invaluable.

Several members of the Genius Society openly showed their desire for the item, instantly making others feel sour.

Sunday's luck was ridiculous. The game wasn't even over yet, and he'd already obtained something this outrageous.

[Lynx]: Brother, do your best!!!

[Seele]: Try to get two boxes out of it.

[Bronya]: Would that thing even be useful to us?

[Seele]: Are you dumb? We can trade it.

[Serval]: …That actually makes a lot of sense.

And it really did.

Among those interested were members of the Genius Society—people whose abilities were downright absurd. If they could get those people's help, then solving Belobog's problems wouldn't just mean ending the eternal winter. Turning the planet into magma wouldn't even be off the table.

[Ruan Mei]: People of Belobog, if you obtain a World-in-a-Box, are you willing to trade?

[Herta]: Trade it to me and I'll immediately start researching rift control.

[Ruan Mei]: The ice can be handled by me.

[Yukong]: Would Belobog be interested in establishing trade routes?

[Jade]: We can also open commercial space lanes for you.

[Silver Wolf]: Didn't you still have a Stellaron on your planet? Want me to take it away? I'm a professional.

The moment Belobog showed even a hint of willingness to trade rewards, the big players all turned their attention toward them.

Even though no one knew yet what Gepard would draw—

After watching so many rounds, everyone understood one thing clearly:

The prizes were all absurdly powerful.

As long as you got your hands on one,

everything else could be solved.

To these people, the calamity of Jarilo-VI's eternal blizzard wasn't particularly intimidating. At the end of the day, it was just a Stellaron problem.

And that?

They were very familiar with.
