Chapter 24 - Three hours in, one hour out (2)

It is assumed that there were two ways to do this. The first was to use a visible Spiritual Array, which was taught by the scroll, to create it.

The array absorbed his spiritual energy and then generated fire according to his will. That was the simplest way, but also the least recommended due to its low autonomy.

The other way, although it also used a spiritual array, did not require creating it visibly; rather, it was created inside him. This array would only be created to understand the sensation of creating fire, so that later he would only seek that sensation, following the steps of the array.

It was a little more complex because making an array inside the human body is dangerous; if it gets out of control, it could explode. But, again, this perfect technique had a way of doing it almost without danger.

He just needed to create a simpler, smaller spiritual array, granted by the scroll, so that the danger in the event of an explosion would be reduced. According to the scroll, if it exploded, it would only cause slight turbulence in his spiritual body.

Xiaotian chose the second form, obviously. It was better to create the fire with complete control over it.

To do this, he had to learn how to create a spiritual array.

The small array was as big as the palm of a hand.

Its content consisted of two triangles, one placed normally and the other inverted, both connected at their tips, as if it were an hourglass.

Next came a square that enveloped both triangles, leaving their corners exposed. It ended with the "Container," the rounded shape that covered everything, including the square.

It was really simple.

But when Xiaotian tried it, he realized that being an Array Master was surely one of the most stressful tasks there could be.

It scattered within him, causing a slight spiritual turbulence and leaving him with less energy.

Fortunately, it wasn't dangerous, so he tried again.

"You should try to create it outside, and when you can do it, do it inside." The item's voice suddenly sounded from deep within when it saw him fail for the third time.

"You're right. I'm failing because I'm having trouble controlling the movement." Xiaotian quickly realized this and tried it outside.

The advice had been good. He was able to improve quickly and understand the ideal ways to create that little thing inside himself.

He quickly created his first array; it wasn't that difficult when it was so small and simple. Fire came out of it, but it dispersed very quickly, although he was able to guide it slightly.

Despite his success, he kept trying until he completed 10 in a row, and that's when he gained the confidence to do it inside him.

Inside, he failed once, but on the second attempt, he completed the array.

He suddenly felt his body heating up inside. The temperature rose, and his spiritual energy became quite warm. Suddenly, a jet of fire came out of his hand, eyes, and mouth, which dispersed in a short time.

Yes, even from his mouth.

He felt, for a moment, like a smoking dragon.

"It looks like magic," he said with a smile.

"Well, you're just burning spiritual energy. I guess you can think of it as magic," replied the voice.

Xiaotian was fascinated by it, so much so that he tried it once more and then a third time. This time, he was trying it without relying on an array, but instead using the feeling he had felt to create it, and it wasn't as difficult as he had imagined.

"I recommend you don't try that so much," the voice said. "If you want to practice that, burn spiritual energy the way the first level of that special technique explains. Every time you use spiritual energy, you have less training time," he reminded him.

"Right," Xiaotian nodded and stood up, ready to train.

He had to practice movement and sword attack arts, using the fire he created in each movement.

If he had to associate this with something familiar, it would be with the training of a Magic Swordsman.

They were quite similar, especially in that they both required using fire in their swordplay with every move.

The fire dramatically increased their power, causing burns and other consequences, making them effective in combat.

Even so, it was really difficult.

The level of learning fire had led him to believe it would be easy, but when he started training with his sword, he realized his mistake.

He wasn't learning something that could be learned easily. Even for him, a genius with the sword and a legendary swordsman in his previous life, it was difficult.

Almost three hours passed in an astonishingly short time as he was very focused on training.

Even so, he never managed to make his sword enveloped in fire.

The fire surrounded half of it and then dispersed. He hadn't even begun to make the necessary movements when the fire was no longer on the sword.

Once, he tried to perform the necessary movements with his sword half-ablaze, and it consumed so much spiritual energy that he almost fainted.

He had to recover...

'This is really complicated,' he thought, though he wasn't going to give up.

He held his sword and suddenly, when he went to try again...

RUMBLE!

The tremor shook him.

"Hm?" He looked up, and this strange world, which had nothing that could "tremble," was shaking.

"Your time is up, for now," said the voice.

"Huh? Has it been three hours?" asked Xiaotian, in shock.

"Didn't you notice?" said the voice before Xiaotian was enveloped in darkness and returned to the room.

The dark energy surrounding the room concentrated again in the ball.

In disbelief, he looked at his pocket watch... one hour had passed.

'Really?' he thought.

Three hours in there, one hour outside.

That was great.

"With those 1,500 spirit crystals you have, maybe you can last another three..." The voice came from the black ball floating in front of him.

"No, thank you." Xiaotian shook his head. "I need them for my plans."

"Fine. Then you'll have to wait."

"Before you go back to rest, I have a question." Xiaotian said suddenly.

"What is it?"

"Can I sleep there?" he asked. "If I don't use spiritual energy, nothing should happen, right? It would save a lot of time if I only had to sleep for 3 hours of real life to fully rest."

The ball seemed to stare at him with a look of astonishment.

Even he hadn't thought of that as a possibility.

"Eh..." Even he hesitated at his answer. "I suppose you can. Although you can't do it when it comes to generating spirituality. Someone tried it before, and it seems that the body understands that it will generate spirituality based solely on the schedule of the world in which it was born." He replied, recalling something from the past.

Xiaotian frowned. He hadn't thought of that, but since it wasn't possible, it didn't matter.

"Okay," Xiaotian replied.

Saving time was already a blessing.

What he needed most was time to train, because he was far behind his enemies in terms of strength.

The black ball returned inside...

Knoc*

Knoc*

Xiaotian got up to open the door.

"Is Dad with you?" Ruxue asked as soon as he opened the door.

"No." Xiaotian shook his head. "It was me muttering some things I was studying." He knew she was referring to the voice of the black ball.

"What are you learning?" she asked curiously.

Xiaotian laughed and tapped her forehead. "You'll find out soon enough," he replied, focusing on the main topic.

"Did you get what I asked for?"

"Of course," she replied cheerfully, entering the room.

The table in the middle of the room was soon covered with several changes of dark clothing and a few masks.

"I could only get one of the realistic masks," she said, looking frustrated at the mask on the table that looked like a piece of very thin skin.

Xiaotian smiled. "That's enough. Thank you." He thanked her sincerely as he put on the dark clothes, the realistic mask, and a plastic-and-metal mask on top.

"What are you planning to do, Tiantian?" she asked curiously.

"I'm going to meet with the Drunken Sword Elder."

"Huh?" Ruxue cried out, stunned. "Is that even possible?"

"We'll find out soon enough." He grabbed a token from among the clothes and stared at the name through the mask.

Drunken Swordsman Tower.

Level 1 Guest Member.

He smiled softly behind the mask.

"I want to ask you another favor, Ruxue," he said.
