Chapter 6 - Successful Mission
When ordinary adventurers mobilized their mind to cast spells, they usually had to stand still. If they mispronounced even one word, the spell might fail, and they often needed several guards to protect them.
Only adventurers with exceptional talent could chant incantations while moving and fighting.
This was a very advanced technique.
The elven girl before him was probably one of the most skilled adventurers in all of Orario at concurrent chanting.
Ryuu could simultaneously handle five actions: high speed attack, movement, dodging, defense, and chanting. Even a level 6 adventurer would be dumbfounded by it.
Douma was born without the ability to feel emotions. The powerful force that Ryuu displayed did not frighten him; instead, it drove him into a frenzy.
"Blood Demon Art: Rime — Water Lily Bodhisattva!"
The blood vessels on Douma's body burst open, and blood mist filled the air, turning into freezing air. The solid ice created a giant ice construct shaped like a Bodhisattva with its hands clasped together.
The ice statue of the Bodhisattva slashed down at Ryuu with a hand chop.
"Cross the sky, run through the wasteland! Faster than anything else! Use the starlight to defeat the enemy!" Ryuu's eyes were indifferent as she pointed her sword at her opponent.
"Luminous Wind!"
As Ryuu's last cry faded, magic erupted, and countless emerald green orbs of light appeared high in the sky, illuminating the entire night as if it were daytime.
Boom! Boom! Boom!!
The orbs of light, accompanied by a fierce wind, fell like a torrential downpour, bombarding the ice statue of the Bodhisattva with continuous roars and dazzling flames from the explosions.
Douma's figure also disappeared in the explosion.
BOOM!!
The violent explosion left a huge crater in the ground, and Douma and his ice statue had long since vanished.
Lain clicked his tongue. That's too brutal!
Luminous Wind was a magic with both light and wind attributes. It created a large number of light orbs that attacked enemies along with the wind. It had a super wide area of effect, and its destructive power was extremely terrifying.
Lain had good eyesight; most of the light orbs hit the Bodhisattva ice statue, while Douma only took one hit. The Demon's body reacted as if it had been exposed to sunlight, turning to ashes and disappearing without even being able to scream.
[Congratulations on successfully hunting down Upper Rank Two, Douma. You have obtained the Mystic Ice Blade!]
[Congratulations on completing the dungeon quest! You have received 600 attribute points and a Bronze Treasure Chest!]
Lain's eyes lit up. Monsters could drop equipment, and with the quest rewards, this was pretty awesome!

Lain thought to himself, Open the treasure chest!

Looking at the string of rewards on the panel, Lain's face lit up with joy. It was great to have a pro carry him.
The attribute points obtained from the system could be freely allocated to his own ability values. Lain did not hesitate for long and waved his hand, adding them all to Agility!
Agility: C600
Lain's leg muscles seemed to be nourished by some kind of energy, bursting forth with new power.
The reason why the major ninja villages in Naruto had Flee on Sight orders for Minato Namikaze was because he was too fast; he could come and go as he pleased.
Agility was definitely Lain's priority to level up, so that even if he couldn't win, he'd still have a chance to escape.
It's worth mentioning that as long as one attribute reaches D-rank and you have enough Excelia, you can rank up. Lain had already met the first condition.
But as long as he was mentally sound, he couldn't just rank up randomly. With the system providing unlimited attribute points, he would definitely push his stats to the limit before ranking up.
After ranking up, the original stats would become hidden and new stats would appear starting from zero, but the previous stats would not disappear; they formed the base.
Each rank up added up to a certain total of stats, which would ultimately be reflected in his individual strength.
In the anime, Ryuu used her enormous Excelia to level up from Level 4 to Level 6 in one go. It seemed impressive in the short term, but in reality, she lost a lot of potential stats.
The stats for Level 5 were almost entirely skipped.
After the level up, purely in terms of stats, she was in the weakest tier of Level 6s, relying entirely on her new magic Astraea Record and technique to hold her own.
After finishing her work, Ryuu walked up to Lain and saw that he was grinning from ear to ear. "What are you laughing at?" she asked.
"I just admire Miss Ryuu's extraordinary strength. Even among Level 4 adventurers, you stand out from the crowd." Lain smoothly delivered a compliment.
The system items were divided into five levels: Low, High, Epic, Legendary, and God. If it weren't for Ryuu, he would probably have had to start fighting goblins, and there would be no chance of getting two High level items and 600 attribute points right at the start.
Lain didn't mind serving her tea or water when she was such a great contributor.
Ryuu remained expressionless, though the corners of her mouth turned up slightly. Of course, she wouldn't care about ordinary people flattering her, but hearing it from him felt different.
Seeing Douma killed, Kanae Kocho, whose physical and mental strength had reached their limit and who was only able to hold on by sheer willpower, collapsed to the ground with a relieved smile on her face.
Lain said regretfully, "It's such a pity that such a beautiful girl has died. Miss Ryuu, please save her."
Ryuu felt increasingly uneasy as she listened, her gaze turning strange. "What if it were a man here?"
"Then I could only wish him a speedy death and a peaceful rebirth!"
"Scum!"
...
While they were bickering, Ryuu went to Kanae's side, squatted down, and began casting healing magic.
"Song of the distant forest, melody of life from the past. May healing mercy descend upon those who seek your help. Noah Heal!" Ryuu chanted swiftly, her magic transforming into life force that fell upon the girl.
Whoosh!
As Kanae Kocho lay collapsed, a layer of emerald green light appeared on her body. Her originally pale face regained a rosy hue, her breathing became steady, and her long eyelashes trembled slightly, showing signs of awakening.
Noah Heal, Ryuu's second magic. A single-target recovery spell. Lain exclaimed internally that he had struck gold; she could fight, heal, and was versatile character.
"Let's go!"
After Ryuu finished her treatment, Lain stretched and turned to leave without looking back.
Ryuu's face froze. Lain had specifically asked her to save someone, and she thought he would take advantage of his kindness to covet the girl's beauty. There were plenty of adventurers who only thought with their lower bodies; she had seen too many of them.
Lain's nonchalant attitude left her a little confused. Could he actually be a good person?
[The dungeon mission is complete. Please return within 24 hours. Countdown...]
