I awoke in the morning to a rooster crowing, and I sat atop the hay bale thinking about all that had happened, and I remembered the box. I got the box and I opened it to see what was inside, and inside was an orb unlike anything I had ever seen before. I tried to grab it and it popped like a bubble.
Suddenly, I felt a surge of energy wash through me, and it felt warm and a green glow emanated from by body. The box stayed however, and I was surprised, because I got the loot, so why didn't it disappear ? I tried putting my hat inside of it and it vanished. I stepped back and dropped the box, confused of how a small palm sized box fit a straw hat inside of it.
"Thats insane!" I don't know how it fit, but I dont know if I can get it out. I reached for the box and I tried to fish out the hat. I got it out and it wasn't even messed up at all. I put the box in my pocket and I took a deep breath and walked outside of the barn, where I first started in this new journey. I ran to the nearest thing that had a hint of civilization other than the barn, I had found a village. I am going to wait before it enter the village, just so I know what I can do to protect myself on my own.
I went back into the barn and I tried to use the green energy from the orb. As I tried, the information on how to use it flooded into my mind. I first meditated and tried to feel the energy from my heart and I felt a energy flowing through my blood vessels and muscles. I felt a new kind of strength that I'd never felt before. I focused on moving the energy through my body when all of a sudden they energy stopped and I heard my stomach grumble. The energy made me hungry.
I decided that tomorrow I was going to go inside of the village and try to survive there.
I slept atop the hay bale again after I made sure to lock the barn closed. I woke up to rattling of the barn lock, and I hurriedly reached for the club I had. The door opened and I saw a middle aged man with a wagon and shovel. We locked eyes and I spoke first.
"Who are you?" I said with fake confidence, whilst trying to hide the club which was heavy behind my back. "I should be the one asking that. This is my barn you know." The man said with pity in his eyes. "Are you a runaway from the other village? Thousands of people razed that village to the ground, speaking some foreign language. " His last sentence made me freeze. I had forgotten that the whole earth, all 8 billion people, had gone to the second planet. I realized if he know i wasn'tfrom this planet, he'd probably kill me since the other villagewas destroyed. "Yes, I am from the village, can you help me?" I said as I calmed down.
"Sure, i'm Lindt, what's your name son?", the man said warmly with a kind smile. I decided to make up a name from some famous show I used to watch. "I'm-" time suddenly froze, and the voice echoed again. "I wouldn't lie about my name if I was you, look in your right pocket, your real name is there. They want this to be interesting after all." Time suddenly returned, and I looked in my pocket. I found a crumpled photo with writing on the back.
"I'm Centi, Centi van Ince" I replied. "Your a noble!? Lindt said in shock. "What are you talking about?" I said in confusion. "Only nobles have last names, stop messing with me. Where is your servant?" Lindt asked in surprise. I was confused as well, because if I was a noble, how come I don't have a servant and nice clothes? As I was thinking, Lindt told me "Whatever, let's atleast get you to your house." "Fine by me" I replied.
Except it wasn't fine. I just met this man, and he's taking me to my house? How can I trust I won't get kidnapped for ransom since I am a noble? With all of my fears, I chose to go there myself. "Where is my house from here?" I asked Lindt. "Just down that way", he replied. I then made the second mistake of my new life.
I looked in my left pocket and gave Lindt some money. "Thanks for helping me", I told Lindt as I handed him some silver coins. I was putting my club away in the box so I could walk when he said, "I'm going to need all of that money, little nobleboy." I turned around to look at him and I was faced with a punch square in the jaw.
He then got ontop of me and started raining blows on me before I could react. My box fell on the floor and I knew what I had to do. I just got a second chance with a new body and I am not about to waste it dying to some greed crazed man. I used my left hand to try and block his punches and I got the club out of my box. I swung at his head as hard as my body could.
And the blows stopped. He collapsed on top on my as blood leaked from his head. I dropped the mace and looked at my hands, stained with warm fresh blood. I breathed heavily and realized that this is how I start my new life in a fantasy world. Killing someone 2 days in. I took my money back and whatever else the man had on him. In his pocket I found a key. I took it and to go to the cow farm next to the village. I wiped the blood off my hands with the cow's fur and then I went to find Lindt's house.
