I looked at the map Mont gave me and I realized that I am just on a small island within the Danx barony. I decide that I should go to Calix City, because the Danx castle is there, and I can get to know other nobles. The city is only about 60 miles away, so I'm going to rest in between. I rested 20 miles out to eat and sleep away from all the people, because not everyone can be trusted, I found that out first hand.
I slept until night, and I awoke to people speaking near me and a fire on a torch. I hid in the bushes since they hadn't spotted me yet, and I got the shield and club out to be safe. By listening, I found out that they are part of the Kirken bandits, which is a group well known enough to have their lair on the map Mont gave me.
I also found out that they have slaves in a wagon that was coming to the forest, so I chose to wait and see if I could save them. I hid my horse, then I decided to hide really deep In a massive bush, and I got some rest inside there. I awoke to more noise and I saw many female and male slaves arrive on a wagon.
There were 6 bandits and 15 slaves, so if I freed them we'd have a number advantage. I was getting ready to try and save the slaves, when all of a sudden one was released. I got closer slowly and I saw that the slave was being raped. Seeing this froze me for a second because this would never happen in modern day Japan where I'm from.
I steeled my resolve and remembered that this isn't earth, and I have to be prepared for anything. I waited for the right moment to strike. When one of the bandits went to use the bathroom, I ambushed him and I clubbed him in the head. He tried to yell and fight back but I bludgeoned him again and he died. Two of the other bandits came to lookout and then I hid. I hit one in the head and used the shield to block the next attack from the second bandit. Using their initial shock from the ambush against them, I hit the second bandit in the leg and he fell.
I hit him in the head and both of the bandits were now dead. "3 out of 6" I thought. Their boss came next, and I tried to ambush him too, but it felt like hitting a diamond. His body was glowing red and he looked at me and said, "That tickles, brat. You're gonna pay for their lives!" He yelled in fury. I felt paralyzing fear just like when I heard the voice for the first time.
I ran. I ran to my horse and left quickly, panicking as I saw the slave wagon following me. I realized that that aura is crucial to my survival, and I needed to master it. As I rode away, I felt guilt for not being able to save the slaves. And I rode for the whole night until I got to the castle walls. At the walls I was asked for identification, I showed them by birth certificate and I successfully got into the city. "Welcome to Calix city", one of the guards told me as I entered. I gave a smirk in response, since I'm done with this crazy world.
I walked over to the clothing stores and I was slightly shocked at what I saw. Cotton clothing was shown, and t-shirts and dresses were also displayed. These clothes were from earth, which means that there are people from earth in the cities. I stayed at an inn with a stable for the night and payed one silver for their common room.
I got good rest for the first time since entering this new world, and I left for the Danx castle. The guards didn't let me enter, so I showed them my birth certificate and photo as proof that I was a real noble. I waited in theirwaiting room for hours and then at the mid afternoon I met the Baron of Danx, Felix Danx. "You called for me?" Felix asked. "Yes, I want to ask you a few questions if possible." I said politely. "Okay, what do you wish to know?" Felix questioned. "I wish to get a map of the main continent, and also a ship to get there."
"Thats a lot that you are asking. How much money do you have?" Felix asked. "I have 26 silvers" I replied. "You still need 4 more silvers for that, mabye you could become a mercenary for the rest?" Felix said. "Okay, I will come back when I have the rest of the money." I answered. I left and went inside the mercenary guild.
