Chapter 29 - 29 | Erasure & leaving for Port city

[Aiden's POV]

This sudden change caught us off guard as his head exploded like a ripe watermelon, out of nowhere. Also stopping him from divulging any information in the process. I saved my face from getting covered with brain matter, but my attire was entirely spoiled.

Seraphine immediately yanked me away by my arm, "Are you okay, master Aiden? Was that some kind of binding spell?" She showed concern and asked.

"Yes, I am fine," I answered.

"I don't think it was such a simple spell," Thane spoke in a serious voice, "If it were, I would have detected it while he was under my nightmare spell. It surfaced only when he was ready to say whatever he wanted to say and executed him instantly."

'System, is there a danger magnet attached to you? First it was the Arclights after three weeks of no disturbance, and now these, killed before you can talk organization.'

'All within 3-4 days, most of which I stayed in dungeon. And let's not mention that talking high-level boss monster in the dungeon. I complained.

After facing Zale, I had to leave Cian City, but I would have left sooner or later, so it was okay. However, now I would have to leave Joshean city, lest I get caught by this unknown organization.

[Yes and no host. First of all, that dungeon wasn't my doing. It was a surprise for me too.]

[Next, you are facing this because by bonding with me, your life had deviated from its natural path. So, you would face dangers and even opportunities as you go on to accomplish your goal of creating your own rule.]

[Yes, you are facing this kind of danger because I bonded with you. And no, because if you remained in that room and didn't follow on towards your dream, you wouldn't face any hardships.]

The system gave a long explanation, which made me think for a sec, and it was right. I would have to face many problems if I want to establish my rule, and these dangers were basically nothing in the face of thousands-year-old empires and powerful cultivators.

'Sorry, System. I guess I just wanted to have a little peace after the dungeon,' I apologized.

The system was the one who opened the world to me, so I can't be blaming it if I decided to travel the world. Deciding on the next action, I made up my mind.

As I turned to tell my two companions, a comical scene unfolded in front of me. Both were bickering like long-lost siblings.

"Evil Bones, if you had paid attention to him, then he wouldn't have exploded like a balloon." Seraphine retorted.

"Aren't you an angel spawn? You should have detected something when you healed him using your holy magic." Thane shot back.

"You literally poked his brain; you should have caught it. I healed his external injuries, not his brain, humph," Seraphine jabbed.

"Wow, you guys are getting along well. I thought it would be difficult, but that didn't seem to be the case," I interjected.

"Now, let's leave this place first and talk on our way," I added.

Holding the Seraphine sword tightly, I moved to other lackeys sprawled on the ground. I had already decided that if I wanted to establish my own city, I had to get my hands dirty, even if it was to clear the filth.

One of the first two that had charged at us was trying to stand, but his dismembered limbs didn't make it easy.

As he saw me approaching with a sword, he started pleading, "Please spare me; I was just following orders. I was his underling, so I couldn't…"

"You should have thought first when you joined an organization that employs such people," I interrupted.

Using my strength, I swung the sword, beheading him while he was begging for his life. Without wasting more time, I moved to another.

One by one, I beheaded them with a simple swing. Some cried for help, some begged, and one even tried to threaten under the guise of organization. But all met the same result.

Both Seraphine and Thane had become silent as I eliminated them. Next, I had to do something about this splashed blood on dress and these bodies.

Immediately, my ability came to my mind. I had only used it in fights until now, but maybe it could be used this way too.

Closing my eyes, I focused on the blood on my clothes first. The feeling of nothingness bloomed in my mind; I guided the ability to parts on my dress where it was bloodied with the intent of only erasing the blood and leaving the rest intact.

All the blood on that particular spot disappeared, erased; even the smell was gone. Next I followed the same process for my complete clothes; it was like new, free of the smell and sweat of hours of dungeon grinding.

"What is this ability, boss?" Thane questioned, and even Seraphine looked curious. She was also first time witnessing me using my ability.

Before answering then, I turned to the bodies. The less clue as to what or who was involved, the better. I extended my ability outwards, guiding it through my hand, and directed it to the bodies with the thought of completely erasing the body and even the blood spots around.

It took a few seconds, but the result was as I hoped. The body was completely dissolved into the air. I followed the same procedure for all the bodies and finally stood in front of both overly curious eyes.

"It was my unique ability, Nullification. I still can't control it freely at will, but if I focus a little, it becomes easier." I explained.

"Oh, so that's how you were punching his spell into thin air. I get it now," Thane exclaimed like he had a revelation.

"I knew my master had some powerful abilities, but this—I never heard of any ability to completely erase anything. You are amazing, Master Aiden," Seraphine commented, acting a bit proud.

"Okay, let's leave this place. I also don't want to enter the city now. So I think we should stay around the entrance and look for some transportation." I stated my thoughts.

Both nodded in agreement, and we left the scene, completely erased, at least I think I did. I also handed the sword back to Seraphine after I removed the blood, but I still asked her to clean it just in case.

"Boss, so where are we going next?" Thane asked.

"I had planned to explore the second dungeon suggested by the bank manager, but now with the situation. I would have to accelerate my plans to leave this continent. So we will be going to the Arnold Port City next."

"We can leave the continent from there and even buy some supplies, which I wanted to buy in this city." I answered.

As we neared the city, "Thane, you should revert to your non-combat form. It would be easy, and we won't stand out too much," I said to Thane.

"You could just say you like wearing me as a cloak, boss," he gloated as he converted into the cloak and slipped himself on my shoulders.

"Pardon me, Master, but I still don't like that bag of bones resting on your body," Seraphine complained, unhappy about the situation.

"I also don't particularly enjoy it. It is only until we find a ride to leave," I said reassuringly.

Waiting at a good distance from the entrance, we looked for any means of transportation. But we couldn't find the one we needed; some Bestiark that came were for a different route.

Around an hour passed, but we still stood at the outskirts of the city. I was thinking of using Gacha, but then the same Beastiark that we used to travel from Cian City came into view and stopped in front of us.

"Esteemed travelers, are you waiting for something in particular?" The conductor asked.

"Yes, we are looking for transport to the Arnold Port City. Perhaps you could tell us if there is another Beastiark we could board." I shared our situation.

"Well, you're in luck then. Generally we don't travel that route, but we had a few special customers for that same city this time, and we have 3 empty compartments. If you wish you could journey with us." He replied happily.

"Okay, then. We would like to book a compartment for two up to The Port City," I said happily.

He signaled toward the empty cabins; we boarded immediately, and our journey began.

After eating the stocked food for the dungeon with Seraphine, she suggested, "You should rest for a bit, master. You must be tired."

"I was a little, but it's fine; I have something exciting to do," I said happily.

"What's that, boss?" Thane asked curiously.

"You'll see, System?" I called aloud.

[Under which banner would you like to pull Gacha next, Host?]
