Chapter 1 - Chapter #1: Re:Zero'd as my original character

A tired man pushed open the convenience store door, the bell above chiming softly to announce his arrival. Behind the counter, the cashier—a woman in her early twenties—looked up and smiled.

"Hey, Ren. Here to satisfy your sweet tooth again?"

Ren answered with a lazy thumbs-up and trudged down the candy aisle. A king-sized Hershey bar practically called his name. He grabbed it and set it on the counter.

"Alright, that'll be five yen."

He fished out his wallet and handed over the bill.

The moment it left his fingers, a violent sneeze tore out of him.

His eyes slammed shut—and everything immediately felt wrong.

Something crashed into his skull like a tidal wave. Knowledge he absolutely should not have had. A complete, instinctive understanding of boundaries—where things began and ended, the invisible lines separating objects, concepts, even people—flared to life in his mind. They could be traced, bent, severed, reinforced. He knew that as surely as he knew how to breathe.

His fingers tingled.

When he cautiously opened his eyes, they swept his surroundings like a hawk's.

Trees.

Underbrush.

No fluorescent lights. No counter. No cashier.

Just a forest.

His chest felt… heavier.

His center of gravity was off. His clothes clung wrong. His hair now tied into two neat twin tails that absolutely was not like that a second ago. Not to mention the rabbit ears clung to his head and lack of human ears.

Looking down, the only reaction she could muster was the obvious one after being a dude one second, and a girl the next.

"What in the actual fuck?!"

The voice that came out was higher, clearer, and unmistakably feminine. Panic surged, sharp and immediate—but before it could fully take over, her gaze caught on the clothes she wore. The white shirt. The weight of the black skirt. The fitted tie, white socks, black dress shoes.

Her mind screeched to a halt.

'Wait. This outfit is Sepul's outfit… Don't tell me I became my childhood OC.'

Memories snapped into place with unsettling clarity: late nights sketching character designs, arguing about power systems on forums, pretend min-maxing an edgy "gap" mage with boundary manipulation when in reality he had liked Yukari Yakumo a tad too much and just wanted his OC to be a hot bunny girl.

'I guess I can't use he/him anymore if I actually became Sepul.' She grimaced. 'Actually, no. There's no "if" about this. I became her, end of discussion. The real question is where I was sent—and sitting here panicking won't answer that.'

She forced herself upright, knees shaking due to the foreign body. One hand moved instinctively to her skirt as a breeze traveled through the forest, tugging at it. Leaves whispered. The air was cool and clean.

Overhead, a cloudless sky stretched wide, the silver light of a rising moon filtering between the trees.

For a long moment, she just breathed.

Then she exhaled, squared her shoulders, and picked a direction.

"North," she muttered. "Because why not."

She began to walk.

Hours passed. The forest slowly thinned as the sky shifted from moonlit silver to pale blue. Somewhere along the way she tested her new power—fingers brushing an invisible line in the air, feeling it tighten and hum like a plucked string before she let it go.

'Thankfully I figured out how to make new powers and didn't, like, need to just rip off trace magic or whatever,' she grumbled. 'Though… trial and error was still a pain in the ass.'

By the time dawn finally crept over the horizon, Sepul felt a creeping sensation that she was near civilization, a prickle along the edge of her awareness where boundaries grew dense and noisy. The feeling proved right when she stepped out of the trees and in the distance read the sign of a very famous town.

Or at least she thought it was. She couldn't read the sign that well with the sun in her eyes.

Seeing her rabbit ears as a possible problem, she slipped into deep thought. 'Alright. Instead of using my boundary manipulation to make them invisible, I'll tweak you a bit. I'll set an [Able/Unable] boundary that makes people able to find me trustworthy no matter what.'

Her eyes briefly glowed with power, light tracing delicate lines around her entire body before the light dimmed shifting back to normal. She sighed a sigh full of relief, feeling the new boundary click into place like a lock. 'There. Much better.'

Then she continued to walk eventually reaching the sign which read [Las Vegas in 1,000 miles] with flashing lights and casino advertisements. Then something akin to realization hit her hard. "Wait a second this is Nevada! There is definitely not a forest in this area!"

Sure enough when she snapped her head back the forest was gone only showing the deserts of Nevada and a not so distant group of four coyotes who are definitely approaching her causing her body to shake violently in fear.

'Why am I shaking? I could erase them here and now! Ugh stupid rabbit instincts i need to end that now let's edit the boundaries of [Able/Unable] again to make myself Unable to feel fear.' There was no glow like last time it simply was. Her shaking stopped dead in its tracks then she looks dead at the coyotes.

"Now then with my weakness solved it's time for the finger guns!" The coyotes were close now and one leapt at her mouth wide open then holding up a finger gun targeting the coyote's existence she "pulls the trigger" which resulted in the canine to simply cease as if it never were.

The three remaining immediately ran, realizing a tad late that they bit off more than they could chew. This causes Sepul to continue her walk onwards and as several hours past she crossed five hundred miles which was when she finally got bored of walking.

'Alright I'll make two mobility powers now specifically Sky Dance which is similar to the quirk Air Step from MHA as it creates compressed disks of air beneath the feet of it's user but also allows the user to create stationary "bars" in the air to grapple onto.

Then I'm going to make Flickering Waltz which is Flash Step on steroids. Basically it allows me to use brief bursts of speed that go faster than time itself also the abilities I made earlier are passive abilities well except two technically three. But I'll explain those powers probably never. Now where was I? Oh yeah! Adding those two abilities.'

now using [Able/Unable] to make herself Able to use Sky Dance and then Flickering Waltz before leaping up with supernatural strength then using Sky Dance she gets ready to run before using Flickering Waltz simply vanishing. And moments later she was standing above Sin City with a smirk on her face.
