Chapter 1 - I hate Roger

Baterilla, South Blue

The quiet Island was bathed in the vibrant sun and the sounds of waves crashing on rocks.

At the local bar that usually served the few drinkers was uncharacteristically rowdy as a certain man made it his priority to disrupt the mood.

A sun-kissed blonde boy, no older than 4 with soil-brown eyes was glaring at the man responsible for the racket. "Oi! Old man, stop flirting with my sister!" The boy barked out.

His anger was directed at the man in pirate attire consisting of brown boots, yellow pants with white fluffs, an open pink collared shirt, and a red coat he wore like a cape. The most damning feature of the man was his bushy moustache.

The man turned to the boy, a full-toothed grin, "There's no need to be so fiesty lad." He chuckled.

To the boy's annoyance, his sister, a beautiful, blonde woman with a red flower pin, smiled."Ramos, don't be rude to visitors. "She softly scolded.

"Y-Yes,Nee-chan." He gritted through his apology.

"Wow–That scared me more than any sea kings." He chuckled, moving closer to the woman.

Ramos was fuming at the audacity of this pirate to try such sly moves on his sister.

"Roger, you bastard. "

[8 months later]

In their humble home, Ramos stood a few feet from his nee-chan. His sister is now significantly pregnant and glowing. She sorted rubbed her growing stomach and hummed a melody.

"Nee-chan...Are you really going to keep–"

"Don't finish such an ugly sentence, Ramos." She warned, voice missing her gentle care, replaced by the protectiveness of a lioness. "What type of uncle would say that about their niece or nephew?" She added.

Ramos bowed his head in shame, fingers digging into his palms."I-I'm sorry–It's just he left you here and now the government is after you and the baby."

Rouge smiled at him, "Don't worry about Ramos. Roger promised he'd protect us." She resumed her humming.

'How can she be so sure! That man is a PIRATE! The king of Pirates!"

What I thought would be another month of this before she gives birth became a whole twenty months of nee-chan carrying the baby in her womb. The Government made it a priority to eliminate all expecting women in the past months to eliminate the chance of Roger's heir. Nee-chan held that baby for months on end and despite my support through chores and fishing she always chuckled at my attempts before assisting me.

"Nee-chan, you should rest. I'll master fishing sooner or later." I said in frustration.

"Of course Ramos, make sure to catch me a sea king so Ace can eat for all those months his missed." She giggled.

"Of course...Ace deserves the best."
