Wei's POV
Weak and stubbornly cold, the moment I woke up, I sat up and asked.
"Lu... Where's Princess Lu? How was she?"
The servant then looked at him and said. "Princess Lu is still asleep, your highness, but shouldn't you be more worried about yourself now? Than her?"
Which I never really slip by, so I grab its collar, my eyes boring into its eyes. "How do you expect me not to worry? She almost died and even the doctor wasn't even sure if she'll live even with my blood!"
The servant then started to choke on my grip, making me let go as I pushed it away.
"Go and see how she's doing! I can take care of myself!" I muttered.
The servant then nod to that and left me alone in my thoughts and weaken body.
"Please be okay, Mei. I promise to make everyone who hurt you pay." I muttered in the back of my mind, clenched fists.
And as soon as I get better, the next day I immediately went to see her in her chamber, only to welcomed by nothing. As in nothing, like there was no one who live there for 21 years!
Can't believe it my eyes, I immediately blocked a servant to ask. "Where is Princess Lu? Why is her chamber, all cleaned and wipe out?"
Then with trembling voice, the servant replied. "P-Princess Lu is... She isn't a princess anymore... S-she was vanished from here by the wishes of Princess Chen and Prince Long."
My lips quivered at the news, and with a loud thump, I threw the servant out of the way and made my way to the throne room where I supposed my parents and siblings are.
Of course, they we're all startled when I came storming in, no greetings nor niceties, just plain anger and betrayal.
I scoffed at the sight, all of them looking at me with fear on their eyes. "So you knew why I am here." I started, eyeing them one by one.
"B-big brother... We know... it was because of Mei Lu, wasn't it?" Chen replied, with her ever pretend softness.
And as soon as I growled, Long shielded her from me.
"Why are you even so mad about it, Wei! That girl is nothing but a gold digger who live off to our weath as the royal family!" Long then accused, earning a punch from me.
"You're nowhere to be calling her off a gold digger, Long! Do you want me to pull of the ledger now?!" I dared, because it was him and Chen who was been embezzling the palace funds for years.
Of course, mother and father asked about it but I shrugged it off, and looked at Chen and Long. "and don't get me started for taking sides! I know everything." I warned.
Only then father chimed in. "Wei, this is not how a crown prince should act like! Mind your manners!"
I laughed at that. "Oh please, father! You guys know I never intended to be a crown prince, but I did out of spite, why? Because there was Mei Lu begging me for you guys too." I shamelessly admitted because there was no way I'd stand here without her by my side.
Mother eyes then widened at my admission, asking to confirm. "S-she begged you, for us?"
"Yes, she did, mother. Didn't you know better? She was always the one you guys who can easily order over and that why I don't understand, why you choose to betray her, it was you guys who promised her a home! A family! Now where is she? Out there, because she was vanished and threw out! She hasn't even regained consciousness yet, wasn't she? And you guys couldn't wait?" I yelled at them with wild eyes, earning a loud slap from my mother.
But I scoffed. "Did I hit nerve, my queen? Well, I am sorry. I couldn't bear to be a crown prince, not when the person I wish to protect is not even here!" I said, putting off the crown and the robe.
"Wei, you sure are not kidding us now! Do you really care about this family at all?!" My father said, anger evident on his voice.
Yet I remained unbothered and replied with all honesty. "I care, father, too much! That this, what you guys do to Lu, hurts me more than ever! I could be a puppet to you too, but with Mei Lu, she's what I live for, and if you guys couldn't bear to deal with that, then I'll follow her."
My words cut like knives to my parents but with my younger siblings, they saw it a chance to get rid of me too, and as gullible as they are, they easily give in to their words, and I need no words to be vanished from that cruel palace and left the throne room.
"Wait for me, Mei Lu. I'll come for you." I mumbled to myself before storming into my chambers to get enough things I could use, to find her.
Came to the gates with my horse, I asked the guards "Where was Mei Lu exciled to?"
But the guards were adamant to tell me anything, so I sheated my sword "Speak or I'll slice those throats so you guys can't speak again?" I threatened.
Fearing for their lives, of course, they answered. "T-to the same town she was adopted, your majesty."
And I who need nothing, then set forth to follow the people who was sent to bring her there, I was told that they were on foot and is just carrying her like some sack of rice, and I couldn't bear to think that.
"You bastards must not try anything to her tonight, or you'll be sorry from my damned sword." I told myself, still hoping she's fine, still hoping that they weren't that far yet, because I really can't bear not seeing her for another day.
"Please be okay, Mei Lu... I'm coming... I promise not to let anyone hurt you again." I kept muttering to myself, going on the path as fast as I can, utterly desperate.
But even I kept telling that to myself, I really couldn't comprehend with my feelings yet...
I mean, all this time, she was my little sister, and I believe in that...
But somehow I also knew these feelings I had for her was never a filial love...
And it wasn't something I really couldn't admit as a crown prince...
But now, I left that palace, and she was not a princess nor my sister anymore...
"Would she take my feelings for real?"
With a heavy sigh, I just shrugged it off and continued with my journey to find her. Resting is out of choice as I knew I wouldn't stay still, not until I find her and know she's well.
And after sometime, I finally had a hint to where she is, as I had noticed a bonfire not that far.
So with a careful move, I stepped out of my horse and discreetly peeked where the bonfire is, and I was right. She was there still unconscious and only wrapped in a thin blanket while two of the three servants are drinking.
Of course, my impatience got ahead of me and made my entrance to make them notice my presence.
"She might be vanished from that palace but to let her lying in the dirt? When she's not fully healed yet?! Are you guys even human?" I yelled at them, so loud, only to feel a weak tug on the hem of my shirt.
"B-brother Wei... W-water... Please..." Lu murmured quietly, and I who was partly shocked and relieved, held her closer before I made her sit and drink from my own flask.
