I watch Matthew fidget nervously as my father-in-law examines the business proposals spread across my desk. When I say "our" proposals, I really mean Matthew transforms my half-formed ideas into something that actually sounds professional and coherent. The anxiety radiating from him is almost palpable. Mr. Warner hasn't stopped that restless leg bouncing, but honestly, I understand Matthew's reaction completely. The man simultaneously terrifies and fascinates him. Mr. Warner has built quite the reputation, attracting admirers who are sophisticated, successful, and intimidatingly powerful women.
Warner had to return to court for discussions with the king, leaving us to handle things here. Mr. Warner believes Warner is at the ranch with his parents, working to persuade them that the twins should complete their current term here before transferring to Turner City for the new school year.
