Arlene's POV
For the first time in my career, sitting in my own office feels foreign. This space has always been my sanctuary, the place where I could solve any problem that came my way. But just like that first encounter with Warner, I find myself completely thrown off balance.
I had to call Gianna early this morning to explain everything that happened. She will arrive tonight to meet with Warner, his parents, and me so we can figure out our next steps. It feels ridiculous to be working when my entire world threatens to collapse around me.
Coming to the office was Warner's suggestion. He wanted to maintain normalcy so no one would suspect anything unusual. He sent Lorelei along with me, and she brought her friends who are now scattered throughout the office while I handle my scheduled meetings. Warner stayed home with the twins, sending me updates every few hours. I made him promise not to take them anywhere public unless he was bringing them directly to me.
