Arlene's POV
"The pack?"
My mind races as I try to process this information. They exist in a completely different reality from mine. Everything has shifted, yet somehow remained eerily familiar. The strange occurrences I once dismissed as coincidence suddenly click into place. I had grown used to brushing off the unexplainable, but now the evidence surrounds me like a living, breathing truth.
"Yeah," Lorelei beams as if she's sharing the most wonderful secret in the universe. For her, I suppose it is.
"How many of you are there?"
"Thousands," she says with a light laugh. "My parents look after so many people."
"You're going to have to teach me everything," I exhale, feeling overwhelmed.
"I promise," she responds instantly, no hesitation in her voice. I apply a touch of pink lip gloss to her already perfect lips.
"All finished."
Lorelei hops down from the table and spins to check her reflection.
"But you barely used any of this," she gestures to my makeup collection.
